When do you stop paying for your kids' cruises?

The government only takes a share after the $5 million mark, so I don't think that's much of an issue for most people.

    mousekeeping opt out

Yes, a lot of deluxe resort guests wouldn't take kindly to the sight of bagged trash and towels being left in the hallways, or the sight of other guests wandering the halls with them, trying to find a place to dispose of them. A room that is regularly cleaned is also going to be nicer than one...

    Mass Shooting at Pittsburgh Synagogue

It is quite easy to get a gun at a gun show, actually, and nationwide gun control laws have weakened over the past several years. Most people need a doctor's approval to get birth control. The same should be true for getting a gun. A psychiatric evaluation should be required.

    First time Disney Cruise

    1. Some do, some don't. We use DCL transfers because we're usually a party of 2. For people with larger groups, private transport is more affordable. 2. There isn't much to book in advance for a typical Bahamian or Caribbean cruise. One of the joys of cruising DCL is that it requires little...

    People Scattering Ashes at Parks

Apparently this occurs with some regularity. The most common place for them to be found is Haunted Mansion. Really. Here's an article from the Wall Street Journal about the practice: https://www.wsj.com/articles/disney-worlds-big-secret-its-a-favorite-spot-to-scatter-family-ashes-1540390229...

Minnie Van now available from WDW to PC

Really? :confused3 It's just a van with dots painted on it.

Is Slinky Dog Dash similar to Barnstormer?

It's longer and better than Barnstormer.

    Disney Dream

We stayed right above that room last year. It's a great location. Skip excursions & enjoy your cruise.

    4 day cruises

I've enjoyed two 3-day cruises, as well as two 7-day cruises. Longer is better, but short is still good.

How terrible! Prayers for the victims and their families.

Alaska - what is the difference?

Naturally this was to preserve peace and quiet in the fjord. Who wants to gaze at such natural beauty with silly movies playing loudly in the background?

If you found something, how thorough would you be to try and return it?

They probably didn't see it. iPods are small, and housekeeping has a lot of rooms to turn over quickly. It might have been on the bed and ended up in the laundry, or somehow accidentally ended up in the trash. Once after HDDR, I realized I'd left my phone on the table inside. I knew exactly...

If you found something, how thorough would you be to try and return it?

If I found money, I'd keep it, as there is really no way to trace it back to the correct owner. I don't think a store owner or the police have any more right to it than the person who finds it. For debit cards, credit cards, or electronics that are identifiable to a particular person, I'd call...

    Boorish behavior

I would love that! Imo the hoarding of pool loungers is an even bigger problem than the saving of theater seats. Sometimes it's literally impossible to find a vacant one on the pool deck, not because they're in use by actual people, but because so many of them are being claimed via the presence...

Person detained in pipe bomb case

Very true. Some people would like to pretend that this is a mutual issue, but it is not. The violent extremism is quite lopsided to one political perspective. The extreme, irresponsible and inflammatory rhetoric of certain political leaders and media pundits is also lopsided to one political...

    Boorish behavior

So you're "shaming" a PP for "shaming" someone else. That's a bit hypocritical, lol. I disagree that calling someone out on bad behavior is necessarily shaming. Bad behavior needs to be called out, and that includes bad parenting. I have seen so much bad (not ordinary imperfect, but just plain...

    Boorish behavior

Yes, it does. That is why there is a rule against it. That is why so many people complain about it. Seat saving is a problem that affects others. It is also against the rules. Please follow DCL's rules.

I was thinking that, too. How does this child get through school? It's the same way there.

Advice for mom with large age gap between children

That's both a shame and a significant problem. I would postpone the trip for when your husband will attend. It is not your son's decision to make & I wouldn't even share your reasoning with him, beyond possibly stating that it's a trip that both mom & dad are really needed for, which is true...

Person detained in pipe bomb case

I think the Internet has really helped with that. People can virtually surround themselves with like-minded others who reinforce their extreme ideas. I think the Internet has definitely increased the prevalence of conspiracy theories and radicalism.
