Fort Wilderness Cabins bed/bathroom specific questions

I'm not sure when this potential stay might be taking place, but they are replacing all of the Cabins at Fort Wilderness with DVC Cabins - they will be completely different, so not sure if anyone's experience in the current Cabins would have any insight into your potential stay.

Hollywood Studios… Rope Drop RoR or Slinky?

Nope - I mean, I think they walked us in 1 minute early or something. But we stood there for quite a while we watched a single cast member ride the ride after the vehicles were all run a couple times without anyone on them. We got through the turnstiles at 7:29am for an 8am ETPE

Hollywood Studios… Rope Drop RoR or Slinky?

We RD'd Hollywood twice this past Aug - and on one occasion we were first in line at Slinky Dog - I was literally the first person in the park have pictures of no one but me in front of the chinese theatre, entering Toy Story land, so cool. Anyway, I was at the front and talking to the CMs...

    Erica Leaving Dis Unlimited

I really like Erica and I've really been enjoying the video/podcast vibes with the three of them lately, just being more their authentic selves. I think she grew into her role in the videos as well, her analysis got much stronger of the things they ate / did, its been really fun to watch her...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

You are either trolling, delusional, or just have no experience at all at LMA and HS - honestly my guy. People went to that attraction, it drew thousands of people per show, people lined up. Line up, run time, and then time to get out, probably an hour all total. Thousands of people did this...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

It's absolutely nonsense to argue it didn't. The show was 40 mins, plus people lined up and showed up early, and then departing took time. And it regularly sat thousands, I don't think it filled up all 5000 seats, but to just suggest this didn't have an impact on wait times or demand for other...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

I generally understand your underlying premise - you are wrong technically - those had capacity, and replacing them with new things adds no capacity - which is the issue. Disney SHOULD be continuing to update things like that, AND add capacity. But you are wrong on your underlying premise...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

Lower prices - increase capacity. It's actually pretty simple. This is what disney has not done sufficiently for - 20 bloody years - add capacity. They've added some, for sure. But a LOT of the "additions" have come at the expense of other capacity - closing lands, areas, attractions, to...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

Try really really hard. Crowds were already down 20% from pre-pandemic last year - this year they are down even more. Crowds last year were the lowest since 2012, this year, according to the investor call this week - are lower. But do tell me how for every family not returning there is...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

The. Parks. Aren't. Crowded. Seriously, you need to get over this - attendance was already 20% below pre-pandemic highs, and in the announcement today - it was lower again this year. Last year it was the lowest since 2012 (not including the pandemic obviously) and this yea, its lower (despite...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

I mean this is a bit far afield of where the convo started - but I'm not sure I agree with this - as a DVC member. DVC creates an initial burst of income - one Disney is probably addicted to to be honest - but cashflow ? Sure DVC members are going to use their points, so they're reliable...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

Yes the departing - or departed ? CFO was on record as saying they could decrease food portion sizes and it would probably help the guests manage their weight as well - trying to spin this as a "win - win" absolutely horrid. But this company will apparently do anything to justify increasing...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

Yea - that's just it. These are clearly a bigger push right now - in the podcast John also said, he's asked why they don't just offer Free Dining again, and they seem resistant to do so ... so, it's not critical yet, for sure. But this is clearly a bigger push. Course, they also just...

He noted, in the podcast - some of these deals are in the pipeline but not released to guests yet, talked about deal where you get 50% off Tickets and Dining plan for children? There is also a $50 a day ticket for DL he talked about...

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

Increasing the prices on food isn't going to help with THAT. It's the first thing we started cutting back on as prices started going up.

    Bean Counters and shortsightedness

According to the (last?) Tues live show - the numbers at WDW are looking bleaker than ever (relatively speaking) with sales (discounts) that are "unheard of" according to John Magi being offered, including steep ticket discounts. These discounts include the Christmas season, and are being...

    Just getting back from AKL…

Honestly the bread CAN be really filling, you can ask for a couple extra naan breads with it, and if you do - and you don't eat much, that would probably be a meal unto itself.

Galactic Starcruiser - what is next for this space?

But they did demolish the harmonious barges, because it was required to get the full tax write off - i hope they find another use for it though, but there are real technicalities around depreciation and tax write offs

The last resort you stayed at and the next resort you are staying at? and what year?

We always split now, but we go for longer 9 - 14 day trips. If renting worries you, some rental brokers offer travel insurance, or you can buy it separately from AAA/CAA or others. We've priced it usually around $100 - not bad if you want to do a rental and want the security of that coverage...

    WDW and Universal. Who wins?

You do see that Universal jumped from Second to last and LAST to 2nd and 4th (domestically) in 2022 right ? Disney absolutely still dominates, especially globally, but domestically from Last to 2nd and 4th - that's a massive swing. Disney should be scared.
