Stopped considering DVC this week. Anyone else?

See, you get it! It's an emotional use asset. Value is relative, and there is a lot of value in owning something with intangible qualities. On the flip side, calculating the true cost is also difficult. Disney, after all, doesn't sell things to make it cheaper for people. They do it to get more...

    Skip MK?

I would definitely skip MK. Of all the parks, MK brings down my mood the most. It's exhausting, crammed with people still even with old what's his virus floating around. It's just not always worth the hassle unless you can completely unhinge and use it as an exestensial "whatever happens...

We got Covid on a Disney trip

I think most everyone has put themselves unnecessarily in positions to get the virus because, let's face it, we are humans and we need to live in relative comfort. I don't disparage anyone from trying to get on with their lives as long as when possible or actual infection does come, that you...

    "Welcome Home" annoys me

And then Disney turned the model on its head with overwhelming volume of guests and increasing the amount of temporary employees. I'm sure there's an answer for higher volume but equal service quality. I'll have to get in the lab and work on that.

Stopped considering DVC this week. Anyone else?

Any reputable financial advisor that has looked into DVC will tell you it's better to just rent as you need it. It's like any other thing, it changes your behavior and costs you way more than if you were to just rent as needed. Mostly I'm talking costs you obligate yourself to outside the room...

    "Welcome Home" annoys me

Yeah, I'd much prefer "Welcome back to your timeshare."

You know you miss Disney Cruises when....

You see your kids growing and all you can think is that the next time you have a safety drill, you'll be in the very front of your party's line.

Is there still a "best day" for each park?

So true. Disney has become a master of finding the holes and filling them. Fall crowds are ridiculous these (normal) days. For here on out I think it's just going to be avoid weekends and hope for the best.

Stopped considering DVC this week. Anyone else?

Renting points rarely costs more in the long run if you seriously deeply run the numbers on what these "obligatory" trips are costing you. Just rent! It's there when you need it and you're not tied to it.

Anyway to avoid credit card hold of 100$?

Who in the world made the rule that you can't judge anyone? We all judge, even when we are trying not to. You ask such a question, some people are going to raise eyebrows. We are all human beings. Some are more upfront than others. So yes, judge away at me and everyone else because that is just...

FASTEST way from port to WDW

They no longer allow helicopters to dock up there. They now have to use Grand Destino Tower.

    MK on a MNSSHP day

So true. Now, it is a magical time in the morning. Our favorite time to be at MK is the morning of a party. We usually leave around 4 because that's when the witching hour descends upon the two "fronts" of guests.

Why hasn't Disney solved the main/late dining debacle already?

I feel you. My middle was a complete psycho from ages 1.5-8. However, if I knew I needed early dining, you bet your **** I'd be reserving that cruise as soon as the itinerary came out. Otherwise, we wouldn't be going.

Why hasn't Disney solved the main/late dining debacle already?

I thought I would hate late dining. I have acid reflux and can't eat after 7 or it's impossible to get a good night's sleep. Having said that, we ended up LOVING it. It was so much more quiet, casual, and you get an extra 45 minutes after day activities to get ready for the show than if you need...

FASTEST way from port to WDW

Uber it. Call it as soon as you step out of the terminal. Should be no more than 10 but my experience is they are usually much closer.

    Phone charging in the parks

I go with a portable charger from Wal-Mart about the size of an IPhone 6. Keeps us at 100% all day.

    Phone charging in the parks

Make sure turn off all the stuff that drains your battery.

    Getting into Disney Shape

Look, you can't really train for this. Disney walking is completely different from anything else for the following reasons: 1) You are wearing different types of clothes. You're probably practicing in workout clothes, but are you wearing those to the parks? 2) Your pace will be much different in...

    Art of Animation/Disney’s Pop Century??

Pop is cheap and nice. I'd never hesitate from staying there.
