Opinions after having sailed first few Australian Disney cruises

We know we’re paying Disney tax for the quality of shows, service, theming etc so pricing isn’t much of a factor tbh! Cruises never appealed to me until I was able to do a Disney one so it’ll take a while to persuade myself to trying something new 😂

Opinions after having sailed first few Australian Disney cruises

I have family who are doing the NZ itinerary soon with Celebrity cruises and they’ve recommended it, though this was the first time I’ve been on a cruise and it’s because of Disney 😅 will still need some convincing to see if other cruise lines might appeal to me!

That’s how I felt about Hobart, no offence to Hobart 😅 An itinerary to NZ South Island would definitely be interesting, if DCL could add longer itineraries and do a scenic cruise through Fiordland National Park they can take my money!

Yea I didn’t bother lining up for characters or shows, the mad rush to get front row seats just felt a bit much for me The vibe felt very much like it was every man/woman/dog for themselves 😅 maybe the next seasons will be a bit more calm!

Yep I agree, would love to see more interesting destinations and if they could bring in the Fantasy that would be enticing too! Otherwise I’m not in a rush to do another AU/NZ sailing, planning to do a Bahamas one next year, and hoping the vibe will be a bit more relaxed 😅 I totally get that...

Opinions after having sailed first few Australian Disney cruises

Just getting over my post-Disney blues now, and of course one of the best remedies is to start looking for the next cruise itinerary! 😅 Has anyone already booked another cruise to look forward to?

finally getting closer to my sailing, though serves me right for booking the last Aus cruise before it goes back to the US 😅 also re pixie dusting, did anyone here participate? I have a few gifts to sprinkle around, though the fb group for the sailing has compiled a list for over 70 staterooms...

I’ll keep an eye on that kiosk then! Figured we aren’t a big enough market for them though wouldn’t hurt to get the sales pitch for DH

Did anyone see if there was a DVC seminar/presentation on any of the cruises?

A few people have reported that they got the sling backpack and old silver lanyard, not the new ones I’m afraid

    Buying from Attraction Tickets

Yep no issues with using tickets from the UK site, when I purchased tickets last year I used the EU site for a slightly better exchange rate 😜 so that’s an option too!

    Wonder Down Under

The summer months Dec-Feb are supposedly the better/recommended times to cruise through there, though it can be unpredictable if the weather takes a turn, so it’s best to be prepared 😅

The ultra light down range is one of their core items they generally keep stock of throughout the year, depending on the store and the range isn’t as wide, otherwise the online store is an option :) I used to work at uniqlo but never took advantage of the discounts as much as I should have!

If you really need to buy one I’d recommend Uniqlo’s jackets, much less expensive but does the job in keeping people warm :)

So glad to hear you enjoyed it! And I’m jealous you don’t get sea sick, the reports from the first cruise sounded bleak for me hahaha What was your favourite restaurant? Some people were complaining about the food on Facebook though I’m hoping it might just be teething issues from the first few...

    Wonder Down Under

The area of sea that gets rough going in/out of Tasmania is the Bass Strait which is commonly known to get rocky, and to my understanding how rough it gets depends on the weather. I've had family members cruise to Hobart before and they didn't have rough seas, so it's luck of the draw!

I also previously learned that the Bass Strait can get rocky which I’m preparing for with my cruise in Feb. Though I was surprised that people on the cruises didn’t expect it would be cold out at sea lol I don’t know if they were expecting warm weather or what, it’s fair to think that for Aus...

    Overwhelmed and needing help

In regards to tickets, attractiontickets .com is highly recommended, they’ve opened a site for Australians as well so you can purchase in AUD if that’s preferred. I’ve used them for my past 2 trips and they’re very reasonably priced with memory maker and park hopper included. They also have...

    Disney cruising Down Under?

We're happy for you if that helps! :rotfl: I realised that I booked the very last Sydney cruise before it goes back stateside, so I get to impatiently watch how everyone's experiences are hahah 🥲

    Timing for WDW and Fiji

Seconding the DVC option! That's what we've always done so far, the cost ended up being basically the same as booking direct for a value/moderate, and when I was pricing offsite hotels it wasn't that much extra considering the benefits. I promise it's really straightforward once it makes sense...
