    Easter Dinner

DH works this weekend, and we don't really "celebrate" Easter any more - kids are "too old" for baskets and eggs (wahhhhhh), and older son isn't coming home from school for it, anyway. So, I am going to throw a ham in for the meat eaters, will make some homemade cheesy potatoes, some asparagus...

    DIDDY OR DIDN'T HE?

That dude has given me the creeps from day 1. Not sure if it was the Pac connection or what - but nope. I have turned the channel each time his voice has come on since day 1. Creepy mofo.

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

As above, but here it's a bag of Doritos with meat, cheese, queso, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, etc. I'm not a huge fan of eating them out of the Dorito bag, so I dump em out and make "nachos". Tasty for the junk food it is, ha! It wasn't until after I had one that I saw they had low carb...

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Yesterday was a friend's daughter's birthday party, so we had walking tacos, veggie/fruit and then a berry/homemade whipped dessert. I was sooooo full but it was worth it Having a snow day here, so I made a pot of chili for the males...they will have chili dogs at some point. I'm craving a taco...

How much is your 2024 vacation going to cost you?

RIGHT? We had no intentions of going back, at all, and definitely not this year. I just saw the deal and decided to check the price since I was all in my feelings about my kids moving out and - that was SOOOOOOO doable. Kid is paying for a good portion of it, too. So...I would have been stupid...

How much is your 2024 vacation going to cost you?

This was the Disney+ deal that included dining. It is just me and my youngest son (17). It was EXACTLY 2000 when we were originally at All Stars, but I upgraded to Pop and it is about 2150/2200? Arrive Saturday, leave the following Friday. We got 4 day hoppers with it. And I had a buttload of...

How much is your 2024 vacation going to cost you?

Our Disney trip is just over 2000 for 6 nights, tickets, flights, dining. Will probably add about 500 on top of that for tips and things not on the dining plan. Our South Dakota trip will cost about 1200 for the week.

    Joffreys vs Starbucks

I abhor Starbucks. Both as a company and in flavor. If I can't have Caribou, I will settle for anything-but-Starbucks.

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Weird week with work schedules and appointments, and none of us are home at the same time. DH made a skillet of dill pickle brats, cabbage, onions, and potatoes last night. He had some of that. Kid had something at work, I assume. I ate a baked potato and salad. Tonight the plan was fish...

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

We had a big lunch and we are both intermittent fasting, so he ate something when I was still working, and I had the rest of the crab salad and some raw veggies/protein dip right before my window closed. Kid had a piece of pina colada tres leches cake before he ran out the door to work. I made...

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

College kid wanted my baked Mac n cheese before he went back to Iowa So, grilled a few sirloins, made a few burgers on the grill, then a gigantic pan of the Mac n cheese, a bunch of raw veggies, ranch dip, marinated cucumbers, and then I grilled onions/peppers/broccoli for my main. It was so...

How many years do you get out of a mattress?

I think we got ours when we moved to our first home in 2002. So, it is 22 years old? DH was, at that point, in a career where he helped manufacture the mattresses. So, we got an incredible deal on an incredible bed. We rotate it probably once a year? We are both bigger people - he is 6'6 and...

    What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Last night was dinner out with friends... German restaurant a few miles away. I literally cried eating it, as it was so reminiscent of being in my grandma's house. The decor, the smells, the sounds, and definitely the taste. It was beyond what I needed. I had walleye with red cabbage, spaetzel...

    slo’s FRIDAY 3/8 poll - Artichokes

I was raised by some bougie women, so my Saturday afternoon snack with my mom was usually a steamed artichoke with a butter/worchestershire/lemon dipping sauce. As it was for HER when she was young. I tend to stick to the marinated ones (giant jars from Costco) now, just to save time. I love...

slo’s TUESDAY 3/5 poll - What On Your Toast For Breakfast?

Ugh, toast is such a comfort food for me, but I am diabetic, so it is soooooo rare that I have it. Either buttered or else charred toast with peanut butter and some sharp cheddar.
