Hi ladies,

I just read on another post about a $10,000 minimum for ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, as long as the reception is a Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch...

Is that accurate, does anyone know if that's only a special for 2010 weddings or 2011 as well...

In my package it says Sunday-Saturday for the 10,000 minimum. Only for the early reception times.

Not sure about 2011

that sounds correct.... again, we are looking at end of january 2011 - not sure how long or if they always make that deal, but with the economy the way it is and the other park promotions disney keeps doing.... well, it certainly opens up options for brunches!

That's what it seems to say on the website. I asked my planner.

* Monday-Thursday
* $12,000++

* Friday & Sunday
* $15,000++

* Saturday
* $20,000++

* All Week Long (Sunday - Saturday)
Food and Beverage Functions beginning prior to 2:00 P.M. (Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch Receptions)
Minimum Expenditure is $10,000++

Minimum expenditures (based on Guest count) can be met through a combination of food & beverage, floral, décor, music, entertainment, special transportation, photography/videography, venue rentals, and other wedding day services provided by Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings.
*Based on a 4-hour or less Reception. Receptions lasting longer than 4 hours or beginning later than 2:00 P.M. follow the standard minimum expenditures listed above. Applies to events seven days a week.

During certain seasons and on holidays, a higher wedding expenditure may apply. Please ask your Wedding Specialist for more information regarding these times.

++Denotes 21% service charge (applicable to all Food & Beverage)
+Denotes 6.5% sales tax to be added
ALL PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE

Unlike Escape Collection pricing, which is guaranteed through the end of each calendar year, Wishes Collection pricing can change at any time.

So get it while you can! :thumbsup2

Wow, I just emailed my planner now about this info bc I'm planning an escape ceremony with a lunch reception and probably spending close to $10k. I may just change to Wishes.

This is really annoying to me, because I wanted a wishes so badly, but didn't want to spend an extra $1500. So now my Escape is at $12,000 (including tax and SC) and with 2 months left, it is too late to switch back :mad:

I'm sorry you can't change it.

I have spent the last three weeks putting together information for a Disney wedding that is not through Disney(the Swan and Dolphin or Buena Vista Palace) because we knew we could not afford a $12000 wedding for my daughter. Her guest list has 40 people so far, with the possibility that number may get as high as 45, so the Escape wedding was out. By the time we pay for a ceremony and reception elsewhere, and add photography, floral, and cake, we are approaching the $8000 mark. For Approximately $2000 more, my daughter can have the Disney wedding she originally wanted. Would I be foolish to entertain such a thing? I did confirm that the $10000 minimum is for wedding ceremonies at 10 am or 12 noon, with a breakfast/brunch or lunch reception. I inquired about the Wedding Pavilion times, so I'm not sure about other location times. I am ecstatic about the lower minimum requirement for the Wishes wedding! I just have to figure out how to keep it as close to $10,000 as humanly possible! I know this doesn't help Escape brides who have already booked, but it may help some future brides!

hi Everyone! I contacted Diane at Disney, who has been absolutely wonderful about answering all my questions until I get an actual wedding planner, about doing the $10,000 min wishes and she said that with that package the thing that would be different would be that there is a cocktail hour followed by a 3 hr reception instead of a cocktail hr plus a 4 hr reception, so if you don't mind shaving off an hour of reception time, go for it. That's what I am planning on doing, it's going to be lunch anyway 1hr cocktail and 3hr reception is plenty of time in my eyes if it will know the minimum down to 10k!!

Plus if you sign a contract by April 15 and meet the room block Disney will give you 2 additional hotel nights for free :-)

You have to meet the 25 night minimum in order to get the promotional 2 nights? I thought that was only for the 1 night. From what I understand the 2 nights are for signing a wishes contract not meeting the night minimum

I have not had a Wishes Wedding but to me for an additional $2000 it would be worth the Disney magic!:goodvibes

From what I understood, you get the 2 nights with the signing of your contract. then if you meet the 25 night min you get a free night so you have a potential for 3 free nights :O) But just to make sure Ill email Diane and let you know what she says!

Thank you, I just want to be sure bc I'm most likely not doing a room block. A lot of my family and friends won't be staying on property so we would definitely not make the 25 nights. We're only staying for 6 nights and we got a PIN so I didn't need the discount.

Iwonder if I can do a smaller room block like 10 or 15 nights bc I know our friends will be staying on property for at least 2 days.

I think that it's worth looking into! We are doing a Wishes wedding for 35 for the $12k minimum...but that's for dinner and even includes Characters so I don't see why doing it for more people for breakfast/lunch wouldn't work!!
