Wow Vero Beach is crazy! People who think about buying into DVC with Vero because of the low cost per point should definitely no longer utilize that strategy!

And if all the price hikes this year haven't aggravated me enough...
All 185 points of mine are at AKV and while I love the resort my wife does not. I wonder how it will trend in the future (obviously up) and if it is worth looking at a different home resort.

So if employee pay is going from $10 to $11 (10%) then $11 to $12 the next year (9%) increase, and so on, does that mean that dues will go up at the same rate for the next couple of years?

Park ticket price hikes and dues increases always seem to be well above inflation rates....loss of ticket scheduling flexibility including loss of no expiration options....huge crowds/limited fastpasses that continue to impact the park experience....Feels like a whole different world from the value proposition we enjoyed 9 years ago when we joined as members....

Housekeeping went up 20% at BWV. I know the salary increase is part of it but I wonder how much the daily trash collection/room check factors in. Something most members don't want.

If dues are approx 70% labour, then yes with the increase in min pay it will be going up that much for the next couple of years. I am not too bad with it, if it is mostly the result of the labour costs.
Just imagine if you had a government like ours in Ontario that overnight went from $10 to $14. Those increases would be really scary.

I know CCV had that property tax windfall if I recall. But I wonder if the hikes was to close the due premium at CCV as that is currently what they are marketing/selling

Increase at SSR is brutal, considering last year there was a special assessment for hurricane damage. If we consider that disappears this year, SSR might have had the biggest increase. Not the lowest dues anymore, 3 resorts have lowest dues now.

I bet! I am a new owner and this is very dissapointing... all of the price hikes and changes and now this.. wow

I saw this on a U.K. board, if your dues are say $7 a point and you have 200 points and they kept going up at 8% on average this is what your $1400 dues would become (first column years from now, last column dues). I foresee resale price decreases if they continue going up like this the next 5 years:
1 $112.00 $112.00 $1,512.00
2 $120.96 $232.96 $1,632.96

Housekeeping went up 20% at BWV. I know the salary increase is part of it but I wonder how much the daily trash collection/room check factors in. Something most members don't want.

The daily inspections is hopefully not adding much to the extra cost. I mean going into a room collected the trash and at same time check the room, can not take that many seconds.

Can someone elaborate for me on how the condo association works and the voting process for all this? If my understanding is correct, Disney Vacation Development, Inc. (DVD) pretty much votes on everyone's behalf? And DVD is made up of who exactly?
