i would really like to fly from newburgh and have been watching the airfare. today it dropped to about $230/person. it has been at $272.50/person. on Delta. should i wait to buy for may? will the price drop more?
and how fast do they sell out? sorry for so many questions but i have only flown once and that was a last minute decision so i have never done this before. thank you for any help you can give me.

Angela, Check out www.flyseal.com. Southeast Airlines started offering non-stop flights between Newburg and Sanford/Orlando Airport in November. No frills, one flight a day, 5 days a week, but at $59.00 each way who cares? We used it to fly north at Christmas and had no complaints. The Sanford Airport was easy to get to, had wonderful long term parking rates and is not that far from the magic. Easy driving all the way. I doubt that all seats are always $59.00 but you should give it a look.
Good luck.

thank you so much!! they are only booking to 4-30-03 right now and i am going in may but i bookmarked their page and signed up for their newsletter. you made my night!!!

It's really a shame that Delta always has ridiculously high rates from Newburgh. It's only 20 minutes or so away from us, but we rarely fly from there unless we're using frequent flyer rewards.

I've been following Southeast's entry into the market, and it doesn't seem as if it had any impact on Delta's pricing out of Newburgh.

Two other airports that we've used are Albany and Bradley out of Hartford. We try to fly Delta since we have so many miles vested in their FF program.

The wife and kids just used Southeast out of Newburgh last week. They had a good trip and were pleased with the airline. The return flight was delayed by an hour, but that could happen with any airline.

Southeast airlines regular fare to Sanford appears to be about $213 or so - which is very good compared to the Delta rates out of Newburgh for a connecting flight to Orlando. I am going to guess they do have sales now and again, but even with their current 'A fare to remember' promotion the price is coming up $213.

You can join their Club 59 frequent flier program. For an individual you pay $99, a family of 4 is $199, and you can fly for $59 each way. Apparently there are no blackout dates. I'm not sure if they limit seats. I also don't know if the membership fee is one time or annual.

It is unfortunate that flights out of Newburgh are as expensive as they are. When Newburgh first opened for commercial traffic we flew out of there frequently and got pretty good prices. They built a nice new terminal, went to a private (as opposed to state) operator and I think there are less flights out of Newburgh now than there were when they first opened. They make all kinds of claims that if you book 14 day advance the fares are as cheap as the major NY airports - but that just isn't true. A flight out of Newburgh might be worth a little more for the convenience and cheap, easy parking, but for $100 a ticket more for a connecting flight it just doesn't make sense. Southeast does provide a direct flight that is not that much more than the NY airports, but the flight schedule is rather limited.

All in all I don't think that Stewart has become what they envisioned it would - that is too bad. While Stewart is less than a half hour from us, we use Albany, Bradley, LaGuardia, or Kennedy to get better priced direct flights that fit our schedule.

who do you use for a transfer from sanford to the hotels and how much does it cost?
i tried looking on the websites but tiffany wants $170 round trip and your ride doesnt have it listed. i did email rabbit and asked for a quote. your ride only charges $170 roundtrip to port canaveral so i am hoping that he will be alot less expensive!

My family used Tiffany Towncar from Sanford to Disney (Dolphin). The price was $160 round trip, not including gratuity. They were happy with the service.

Florida Towncar was also $160 r/t. I think Your Ride was a little more.
