August NO-BUY 2017

Did we all eat out on Eclipse Day or what? LOL Even I didn't escape the DH's suggestion of Mucho Burrito yesterday! Ah well back on track today I hope! we have some grocery shopping to do again but mayyyyybe we can hold off a few more days.

Gahhhh this month started so well, and then this week has been awful!

Seems like anytime I spend time away from my house, I end up spending money. Stuck waiting a few minutes until an appointment? "Let's just look at that shop there and maybe grab a coffee..." BAD IDEA!!! ARGH.

Injuring my knee really threw me off my game, but I think I did alright otherwise.

I'll be in for September for no clothes shopping! My DDs' closets are bursting!
Have they ever tried a clothing swap with their friends? Those are fun if you have compatible sizes.

I think that for our household, trying to keep track of the finances on a regular basis and recording the impulse buys helps us prioritize if we really want the item or not. We really cut down on the number of times we popped into a thrift store because we had 30 minutes to kill. Going 1-2x a month is way better than 1-2x week!

And you know it drives me batty that as soon as we get home from the store, of course we discover there is one more thing that we were almost out of. Like ketchup! We went to make burgers and ahhhhh the ketchup is just about gone. ERF. I swear half this project is keeping track of what I buy and how often I have to buy it.
