Aventura Hotel - New 6th Hotel for Universal - Booking Open now Aug 1, 2018 +

I'll meet you both on the rooftop!
My thoughts are, EP being included for the three deluxe already is a heavy enough load for the parks. I just don't see USO building more deluxe or they would have to take it from Royal. Who knows what will happen with the property by the convention center though.

It's a date!!!!

They definitely won't take EP from RP. But, yes the next phase down that way will be interesting to watch......to say the least!

Yes, my immediate thoughts center around early entry, and yet another hotel being fed into a limited area... that is something I believe needs addressing before it all actually happens.

I also find it interesting that the standard rooms will be slightly bigger than the ones at CBBR (around the same size as the WDW moderates). So this would put Aventura slightly above CBBR on the hotel tier.

At least for room size. A little bit sparser on amenities. But then again; it is going to be a smaller resort in room number than CBBR, will be close enough to Sapphire Falls to realistically share in some of their amenities, and it looks like the "no theme cosmopolitan theme" is pretty much the theme (and many prefer just that). Pretty much set right with Cabana Bay as far as everything weighs out. Should be very easy walking distance to Volcano Bay too.

The thing about early entry is that Universal has tons of room to expand in that category. All they need to do is open more attractions at park opening. Say, add Marvel at IOA when it's their turn and RRR and Terminator at US when it's their turn. Also adding EE every day to Volcano Bay is going to alleviate that as well. Express is certainly a tough sell to grow into any other new properties, but early entry has tons of room to be included as Universal builds more hotels (I bet Nintendo land will definitely get added to EE when it is built along with Potter)

I would imagine they will take EE from their partner hotels soon. Not sure how many partner hotels they have as I've never used them nor do i use EE.

Yep, we've never made EE and have no desire to do so.

I had heard somewhere partner hotels will lose it eventually........

I would imagine, especially with the 4000 room value being added at the old WNW property.

Yeah. That is pretty much inevitable. They've talked about adding a total of 10K rooms before this round of expansion is complete. That will end up representing pretty much the same number of rooms they have on EE with their partner hotels. At that point, I'm not even sure what percs that matter the partner properties will have, since their shuttle services are garbage to begin with. Same idea as with Disney ... drive customers to stay in your own branded hotels and you make a higher percentage on the returns.

Absolutely!

Does anyone else worry that Unuversal is becoming so big. I like it compared to Disney since it's fun and relaxing at the same time. With the growth of hotels there will be so many more people in the parks. I guess Volcano Bay and possibly additional parks would help.

Rather than another hotel, I'd rather see park expansion and/or a new park.

For those interested I see there is a $50 room credit for 4 nights and a $100 credit for 7 nights - not sure how long this is available for.

I plan on staying here at least once to check it out - the rooftop bar sounds pretty cool and it is right next to sapphire falls so you have access to that and all it's options.
I have no issue with the "theme" - in the end I spend very little time in the room and just care that it is clean and quite and has easy access to the parks

I do wonder what affect this will have on the boat to/from Sapphire - the week I was there it was already pretty packed and I took the RPR boat instead a few nights - some nights after they load the RPR boat they would then load people going to Sapphire and end up stopping there anyway

I can't see taking the bus as I assume that goes to the bus loop and through standard park security which seems much busier

At busy times they have checked resort IDs returning via boat to RPH. Could easily do so again if the line backs up for SF too in order to ensure all passengers actually staying @ SF vs A & CB.

I'd be more interested in staying @ A than CB when just adults in party. since neither participates in youfirst program won't seriously consider either, same as with HRH when they opted out.

I have never seen that, maybe they were checking to make sure you were staying at one of the resorts? I could be going to Jake's for example.

I was wondering about the youfirst - I have not seen anything yet that says they wont participate
The YouFirst site dos not list it as restricted - yet.

I did contact them about an upgrade and was told I would not get one because I booked a package, but that I would be able to get upgraded at check in.
Never understood why it is such a hassle when you get a package - that I booked through Universal - upgraded.
I always have to contact someone at the hotel Directly and then it is fixed.
I plan to do the same for Aventura - unless i see that they dont honor YouFirst, but at this point I am assuring they do - especially if it is business/adult oriented.

BTW - I know it is usually better to not book a package - but in this case the package is $75 cheaper - $75 buys a couple of drinks

always later in the evening for the ID check. Haven't seen in in over a year/multiple trips & only when @ RPR.

Please post when/if you find out if they are participating in the youfirst program. Would think many have concerns as to wanting to book a qualifying stay to maintain their status if not receive their benefits such as platinum upgrades at time of booking/resort credit.

I have some friends that have now booked this new hotel

Gonna tell them to take pictures for us as we need them in this thread

Hope others that stay here will also share pictures with us here

Will try to find current info to share with all reading here

About the water taxis, anyone can use them
Off site and day guests are always welcomed to spend time dining and shopping at the hotels

One restriction that the hotels have are using the water taxis after a certain hour

Priorities are given to hotel guests at midnight from city walk to a hotel

City walk peeps are allowed when there is room on the boat

The hotel bars are open late and so are a couple of eateries
The hotels do not allow non guests stay in their lobbies to sleep if they miss the last water taxi back to City Walk
They are escorted to the walking path

During hhn time period, hotel cards are required to use the water taxis from city walk at midnight
If you dont have one with you, take the walking path

Any onsite hotel guest is allowed to pool hop but since the pools don’t have late hours, never an issue using water taxis

I'm excited to see it come together. We have reservations for Nov 27th-Dec 1st.
