BA cancellation

They are being very slow at updating cancelled flights. I guess that way they have our money for longer and may help with cash flow in the business.
I have a September flight booked and there is no guarantee that will go ahead. As far as I am aware they are not operating from Gatwick anyway so in my mind it’s cancelled already.

I got an email last sunday stating that my October 14 flight is canceled. LHR to LAX, flight 2 of 4 legs. The other 3 are still there. It is operated by AA. On the AA website it has been replaced by another AA flight with a stop over in Dallas. It’s no good for me as I’m flying to Honolulu the same day on a seperate booking and the replacement flight doesn’t get me there in time. It’s more than 4 hours later...Not looking forward to being on hold forever to solve this mess. I’ll hold off for now as I’m not expecting to travel in October anyways and wait for them to cancel the rest of the flights in this booking.

i have a BA flight september 4th gatwick to orlando and nothing yet but i’m actively wanting it to be cancelled so hoping it happens soon! think it’s way too much of a risk to be going to florida right now what with covid cases being sky high

Most of the bad is down Miami way, so I think if you stay on property and only go to the Disney parks with Disney's tight conditions, it's probably pretty safe.
Flights and airports are a bit unknown.
And I wouldn't eat in an indoor restaurant for now ... anywhere in the world :sad2:

Orange County has got pretty high figures too, fourth worst in Florida. Why is 'stay home, stay safe' not so important when it comes to going on holiday? It's not just the US side, it's UK airports and on enclosed planes that need to be taken into consideration.

But we aren't staying home any more. People are shopping, going to work, back at school to some extent, and socialising ... mostly without much supervision to ensure they follow 'the rules'. Being at WDW with CMs watching you is probably less risky right now.
Yes, the travel is a bit meh, but precautions are being taken.

Crossing our fingers that our flight at the end of September gets cancelled. This was supposed to be our one and only trip so we've already cancelled our holiday package due to the reduced experience. To us it's just not worth the unnecessary risk.

I hope that everything works out for you and that you are able to have the trip that you dreamed of in the not too distant future.

well i’ve cancelled the disney hotel and tickets anyway - i’d prefer to stay home like i’m high risk so for me it’s just not worth it for a couple of weeks at a theme park ! and like i am staying at home too i’m not shopping unless it’s for essentials, haven’t met up with any friends and i’m still working from home ! where i’m living for sure has a lower infection rate than florida too so i just don’t know why i’d want to risk flying to someone where there’s a higher chance of me being infected

I'm high risk
Then of course you shouldn't go.

It's obviously down to each person's circumstances and risk aversion, but for people who are already going to work, using public transport and eating out, WDW is probably little different in risk. (At present!)
If you are shielding, or similar, at home then it's clearly not a good idea to go.

I just had an email from BA that my return flight from Orlando to Gatwick on 27 September has been cancelled. Oddly no email yet about my outbound 11 September flight from Gatwick to Orlando.

27th Sept is a lot later than the previous cancellations. I wonder if that is a one off, or if they are removing all the sept flights now...

Our return flight on the 26th September was cancelled on Monday too, but our outbound flight on the 17th hasn't been cancelled yet either
