I probably should have asked sooner, but has anyone eaten at Teppanyaki with the Candlelight Processional dinner package? We are going tomorrow night and I was looking for appetizer and dessert recommendations since they are VERY limited I'd like to know what is good?
TIA if anyone can help!

Here I am, replying to myself again. I changed the title from my original question of "Has anyone eaten at Teppanyaki for the CP pkg?"
We went last night 12/11 and ate at 4:45, which in retrospect I will not eat that early again.
Let me start by saying we have eaten at two Japanese steakhouse's here in Tampa a few times and really enjoyed it. My original ressie was for Le Cellier but when my in-laws decided to come they could not accomodate us so we had to switch to Teppanyaki. That was the only restaurant in tier 3 that could.
I'll keep this simple. We didn't like it and won't be going back, ever. The veggies were bland, the meat was tough (they did not offer to allow up to upgrade our meat to the tenderloin) and the sauces they used were just ok. The appetizer selection was very limited to alot of sushi so we all got the house salad. The dressing was a ginger type dressing (YUCK), and there was more dressing than salad. No one ate much of it. The dessert selection too, was limited and we all got the chestnut cake which was the best part of the meal. Even that was just ok, but after the dinner we were thrilled to eat something that tasted good.
Two other general observations, the restaurant is looking worn to me. The bathroom was dirty, which I wouldn't expect from one of their higher end restaurants. (or any disney establishment)...and our chef was no where near as entertaining as the table next to us, but I guess that is just the luck of the draw.
Next year I will save my $$$ and do the Garden Grill.
And the Candlelight Processional was FANTASTIC!!! That made up for the bad meal....

We used to go to Teppanyaki every trip, but we decided never again during our trip in October. The food was not as good, and things like salad for the adults and fruit bowls for kids were no longer included with the meals, even though the prices had gone up by several dollars. Sorry no one replied to your post before you left.

...the meat was tough (they did not offer to allow up to upgrade our meat to the tenderloin)

that's odd. I asked to do that on 12/10 and it was no problem. We love this place and we all had a great meal there before CP.

edited to add; I don't recall seeing anything that "offered" the upgrade, I simply asked and they didn't seem to have any reluctance.

zalansky, I'm "glad" to see your review - sorry you had a bad experience, though!

I grew up in Palm Harbor and have eaten at Arigato's in Clearwater several times and enjoyed it. We went to Teppanyaki last January, however, and had pretty much the same experience you did. BLAND food, tough meat, boring chef. We left hungry, and for the amount of money we paid, we were very disappointed. Honestly, I sometimes wonder if the people who are happy with it are going to a different restaurant? :)

I am equally as happy to see your response! I was beginning to wonder if I was losing my mind. You brought up a point I forgot to mention also, we left our dinner hungry. We went directly to France and got pastries after dinner ended.
Keep in mind I paid almost $50.00 per person for this dinner because of the CP package, which meant we could order an appetizer, entree and a dessert. Even ordering all 3 I didn't break even but that would have been fine if the food was good. But, in this case it wasn't even good.
Anyway, I am happy to see someone agrees with me!
