Best beach and beach resort to visit

We are planning a trip to DL in June and would like to spend some time on the beach What is the best beach and the the best beach resort to stay at? I am open to all suggestions. THank you!

And have gone there for years. But, we have family there so we have never stayed at a resort hotel. We have played all day and had cook outs on the beach with cousins, great fun.

There are 2 super nice places the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa or the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. Plus some other chain motels and hotels.

You may also want to investigate Newport and Laguna Beaches.

If you want to drive to San Diego, there are tons of great places. Also Carlsbad and Oceanside.
