Boma - a few questions

DH and I will be down in the World in Feb. w/out the kids :cheer2: and we wanted to try some of the resteraunts we missed while down last time. DH is a very meat and potatoes kind of guy and I'm a little concerned about his reaction to the food there. I've read and heard so many wonderful things about it but will there be enough to satisfy him? I'm willing to try new things but DH is a little less willing. Thanks for the help. :earboy2:

By the way, the resteraunt I'm talking about is Boma's in the AKL.

I think he should like it. There were potatoes that were pan fried/baked. There is yummy prime rib, flank steak. My DH is the same way and he does well there. It's fun to be adventuresome too. I love the dish that is a little sweet with meet and eggs (kind of like a meat quiche). I also really love the mashed sweet potatoes. They are a little sweet with pumpkin pie flavor. Verry yummy! Get him to give it a try. It's all he can eat, so he shouldn't go hungry. He will also want to try the Zebra Domes for dessert. (the hummis is awesome too).

I would say that he will definately find LOTS of things he'll like. The food is so good and so many different items to choose. Below is a rotational menu for Moma, so you can take a look!! Can't wait till we go this month!! :earboy2:

We didn't like it. We are fairly adventerous eaters, but I didn't think the food was very good (except the soups - excellent soups). I'd rather have good prime rib than buffet prime rib. And we found the desserts to be disappointing.

There is certainly a lot on the menu - he won't starve. And not all of it is "adventerous." He will find SOMETHING to eat. But whether he thinks the prime rib is "yummy" or "disappointing" I can't tell you.

We tried Boma and loved it. I am not an adventurous eater at all. In fact, I was a little nervous about finding something I would eat. Well, after 3 trips back to the food area, I guess I can safely say that I found stuff I liked!!! The beef was fine, not exceptional. But that's not what we went there for. But, I did find a lot that I did like. And dh was in food heaven. He loves anything different.

I'm a picky eater and loved it. There are tons of choices and there was normal food in case you don't like stuff. DH loves meat and he absolutely loved it. He wants to go back when we're there next week and he was mad we didn't have time on our last trip.

I didnt care for Boma. I didnt feel the food was that good it was very much buffet food much like Golden Corral or Barnhills. For me Whispering Canyons was the best meat and potato restaraunt.

We love Boma, so do our kids, we all adventurous eaters, but there is food for all different tastes, from simple meat and potato to really exotic food, I love the salad with avocado and grapefruit, and all of their soups are fantastic.

We just returned from a stay at the AKL and ate at Boma our first night. My DH is also a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy and he said he found plenty to eat there. I loved the FuFu and the Potatoes with Afritude, myself. I didn't try to many of the meat dishes, but he said they were good.

for Boma. The food is high quality, incredible flavors and very unique. It is one thing that we do every visit to WDW.

ENJOY!

My DH and I really like Boma. I ate there on my own a few years ago and insisted that we take a long weekend trip later that year so that, among other things, we could eat at Boma. My DH loved it. We are fairly adventurous eaters although he doesn't like really spicy food. DH had no trouble eating anything on the buffet (and did). He especially liked the kool slaie (sp?) and the prime rib. My favorites were the chicken coconut soup and key lime tartlets. We are going in January and staying at AKL so that we can introduce my stepdaughter and our DD to WDW and Boma. :Pinkbounc
