We are considering BWV or OKW for a September 01 trip (we are in the middle of a resale purchase.) We would be reserving a studio and a two bedroom. We would be booking standard view, would want the 2bed/studio next to or near each other and also near an elevator. It would also be nice to be near the main pool(We have three boys 7, 4 and 2. Does such a location exist?? Is this too many requests?? Thanks for any information! :D

First fair warning--standard rooms at BWV go faster than others thus there is some risk you may not be able to get those for early Sep. You can have 2BR and a studio that are close to the elevator and each other on the same floor, and those will also be close to the main pool (on the ground floor the elevator leaves you off right at the door that leads to the main pool). In other words if you request close to the elevator you will get what you want without requesting close to the pool.

Standard view this close is going to be difficult. You may get lucky, but since less then 20% of the resort is standard view, they go very fast. People have reported not being able to get standard view 10 months out.

Because the choice is so limited, requests also have limited success. I believe that most of the Standard view rooms are close to the elevators, so that is good. as far as getting them near eachother, it is really a lottery, you may, but then again, you very well may not.

At OKW the studio would not likely be next to you. It may be a floor up or down, they are exterior stairs, so that would actually be good. The other unit may be up a different flight of stairs. There are three pool areas, so any room is relatively near a pool.

When you make your next reservation, you will be able to make it at the eleven month mark, requests are homored in the order they are made. You will be able to get exactly what you want at the eleven month mark.

Creeping socialism was seen hundreds of years ago when James Madison said: "I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."

September is an off-peak time and there is a good chance that you could get a standard view. Standard views are those that overlook the entrance of BW. None of them would have a view of the main pool, but the way that BW is set up if you are near the elevator, you are near the main pool.
Standard view rooms vary in distance to the elevator, some are located right next to it, and some are quite far. If you choose to be near the elevator, you will have a view of the valet area, if you go further away you can have a nice view of the fireworks.
I would think that you should not have too much trouble getting the studio near the 2 bdrm, especially if the studio is not a dedicated studio, but a lock-off of a 2 bdrm.
Good Luck and welcome to the club!

I just booked a one-bedroom standard view room at BWV for Sept 22-28 and had no problem. My wait on the phone to book was only 2-3 minutes.

Good luck. :D

this past january we did what you did... booked a 2br and an additional studio. To make matters more confusing, we booked the 2br for 4 nights then added the studio for the remaining 6 of a 10 night total stay. We requested that the rooms be close to each other, be on a high floor and close to the elevators.

When we first got to the 2br it felt like we got the opposite of all of our requests. We were on the first floor and not particularly close (but not particularly far) from the elevators (we couldn't care less how far we are from the elevators but some of our friends are whiners and we didn't want to hear it ;-) ). When we needed the other studio, I was relieved that that request had been met. Our 2br was rooms 1109 and 1111 and the studio was 1123. Considering how large BWV is, 7 rooms down on the same floor in the same wing was pretty good.

This was my long-winded way of saying "I think if you request two rooms near each other, it will take priority over whatever other requests you happen to make."

Good luck!

Lisa

"You employ stone, wood, and concrete, and with these materials you build house and palaces. That is construction. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly, you touch my heart, you do me good. I am happy and I say 'This is beautiful.' That is architecture. Art enters in."
-Le Corbusier

I also requested a two bedroom standard view near the elevators during my last stay and my room was overlooking the main entrance to the Boardwalk resort. It was a terrible view and the I listened to the noise of car horns and car doors slamming late into the evening and early every morning. As the ancient Chinese proverb states "be careful what you ask for, because you may get it". Good luck!

Last August we had a standard view studio and I requested being close to the elevator. We ended up pretty far from the elevator, but that didn't really matter because there were stairs nearby. I wouldn't count on having your request to be near the elevators met, after all it is only a request and not a guarantee.

I booked 2 standard view studios about a month ago for Sept 8th - 23rd with no problem. I expected to get wait listed for a few nights but everything was available. I think it's a pretty slow time, so hopefully you will find all the availability you are looking for.

Last August I booked a standard view studio for September (less than a month in advance!) with no problems. We were about halfway down the hall from the elevators, but right next to the stairs. It was a great location!
