Can't find Disney Properties (Anaheim) on Chase UR travel portal...?

I've taken a dive into the credit card point game this year - that's how I'm going to fund most of our next Disneyland trip. I'm building up Chase UR points, and from what I've read online you CAN book Disney properties via the Chase travel portal. However, when I look up Anaheim hotels on the Chase portal the Disneyland Hotel (as well as PP and the Grand Californian) are nowhere to be found. I've tried every filter/search option I can think of.

Is it no longer possible to book these via Chase? I'm not ready to book right now, I was just trying to get a ballpark idea of how many points it would be per night. I'm thinking about whether I want to go for a Hyatt (looks like good value for the points) vs. staying on property.

Also... I've just recently discovered this site and this is my first post! :)

I don't have an answer for you, but there is a Disneyland section of this site that may know the answer. I would pose this question there.

Welcome to the Disneyland (California) board!
Have you tried calling Chase to ask them specifically about this? I know that many DISers on this board have the Chase Disney Visa and apply their Disney Visa Reward Points specifically toward their DLR trips, but I haven't read many posts about UR points. I did see on the Chase website that UR points can be applied toward the purchase of gift cards. Are Disney gift cards on that list by any chance? If so, you might be able to start collecting those. In CA, Disney gift cards do not expire, so those could be a work around if the on site hotels don't show up on the UR travel list. The gift cards could be applied as payment toward on site hotels, park tickets, Disney owned restaurants, park merchandise, etc.

I think you need to call their tour and cruise department to get into stuff with the parks. You should be able to be transferred from the main Travel Specialist number, but that department isn't open 24/7 like the main line.

You have to type the names of the hotels in the search bar.

However, I am also not seeing them anymore. Bummer. Although I did get a notice that the rewards program is undergoing some changes to debut soon, so this may be a temporary issue.

Yes, you can use Chase UR points to buy Disney gift cards. However, you only get one cent per point that way (you get more than that if you use the UR points in other ways). So, it's not out of the question, but not my first choice. :)

I suppose I may have to just suck it up and make a phone call to the Chase travel people. Lol.

OP, I play the churning game with CC's too. I have also booked Disney resorts through the Chase UR's site a couple of times. I know that sometimes Disney doesn't release the rooms to the wholesale dept until fairly close to the time of travel (3-4 mos). So, could be that you are looking too far out. Also, if it is a busy time when Disney does not anticipate many rooms going unused, they may not release any to the wholesale market. We mostly travel to WDW and in low crowd times, like Sept, there is availability at every resort on UR. But spring break, maybe only a couple of resorts.

I would definitely suggest calling the cruise and tours dept. Can't hurt :)

Just remember that if you have Chase points that have an expiration date, e.g. Disney Visa Reward Points, keep track of those dates (they are rolling, not one set date per year)! Some posters have lost major amounts of points shortly before big Disney trips by not noting how many points were expiring when. If you find yourself with a chunk of points about to expire which you won't be able to apply to a trip right away, apply them toward a Disney gift card. As I stated above, in CA, Disney gift cards don't expire (but those Chase Reward Points do!), so you would be able to keep the gift card until your next DLR trip and it would still be valid.

My guess is those dates aren’t released yet or it is a busy time and there are no rooms available. I booked our upcoming stay through the Chase portal and even 3 months out only GCH and DLH were available. I could still see rooms through the portal today, FYI.

That occurred to me, so I tried searching several dates (especially on non-peak times). I think the nearest dates I checked were >4 months out. I'll try again with slightly closer dates just in case that is the issue.

You could see DLH and GCH rooms on the portal? Now I really feel clueless. Lol. I literally looked through every single Anaheim hotel that came up, tried filtering by "Disneyland", tried filtering by "Californian", etc. Nothing comes up when I use the filters. When I filter for "Disney" a bunch of non-Disney hotels come up (the places that are close to the park). Ugh.

I can see Disney hotels for our dates in June. When are you trying to book for and I'll check your dates to see if I can bring them up.

Can someone enlighten me, is this for the Disney Rewards Visa or a different card?

Different card. This is the Chase cards that earn Ultimate Rewards. If you have one of these premium cards, you can use the rewards for travel, and many times, Disney resorts (both WDW and DLR) can be booked using the points.

If you have other questions, feel free to ask here or send me a pm. I use these cards and the points for travel a lot. There is also a thread on the budget section of the DIS called "I love credit cards". It's a very active thread and lots of us on there would be happy to help you more if you are interested :)

As @wendow mentioned, the "I love credit cards" thread on the budget board is fantastic and can offer a lot of advice on how to use credit card points for travel.

To OP, I also sometimes have trouble finding DLR hotels on the Chase travel portal. I suggest searching for one day at a time and see if anything comes up. If just one of your days isn't available then nothing will show up for your series of dates. Also, try putting in a different number of travelers. I have put in "1" before and no DLR hotels come up, but if I put in "2" then they will pop up. Strange, I know.

I have heard that Chase's travel portal is based on Expedia, so if you can find what you want on Expedia then it should also be available thru Chase.

Finally, I have read on the above mentioned thread that Chase's Cruise and Tours department is a full service travel agency, which means that they can book anything that is available on the Disney site. I have also read that it is possible to pay with your URs and then you can pay the remaining balance with either your Chase card or with Disney gift cards! I'm hoping to go this route when I book our rooms for August. I know its not fun to actually have to make a call, but it might be worth it. If the person you get the first time doesn't know what your talking about or says it can't be done, hang up and call again.

Good luck, and hope to see you over on the budget board!

I wasn't searching for specific dates to actually book travel (was just trying to get a ballpark idea of points required per night). The other day I searched for November, next January, and next April. Just now I searched for the last week in June, since you said you could see June. I found the Grand Californian, but the Disneyland Hotel doesn't show up (maybe it's booked). At least I found ONE OF THEM, so I don't feel crazy now. Maybe as someone suggested above I was just looking too far in advance. I don't think I would book with this method if we can really only find those hotels on short notice (a few months or less), as it's hard to plan a trip that way. All that said, I'm still not 100% sure we want to stay on property. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel this past winter, and it was awesome, but it might not make the most sense to use that many points just to stay in the bubble the whole time. I'm just trying to weigh all my options while I work on raking in the points. :)
