College Football 2020 (and 2021??)

LSU talk radio today was all about reassuring LSU fans that last years team was better than this years Bama team.

From a bunch of folks that took a two letter word and turned it into a four letter word...yeah, they need all the help they can get. Just kidding, they a good bunch of folks. Can cook like no other group of people I know.

The accolades keep rolling in ......

How come he don't win this every year. :confused3 Bama Ed

College Football Season for the year 2020 has now concluded and a couple inevitables are occurring yet again:

1. Bama fans must dig deep for all new National Championship gear with the number "18" on it. It will hang in the closet next to the 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13 gear we've all accumulated in the last 11 years.

2. In a related vein, the Bryant Museum on campus is about to announce an expansion because, well, there are so many new trophies and stories to present that they've run out of space.

3. Coach Saban's coaching staff is being pilfered again by other teams including Sark taking a few over to Texas. With all their money, Texas still could not pull Saban away from Alabama. So they are trying to take a portion of his coaching staff since they can't get the coach himself. But he will hire strong replacements as he has before. We've seen this movie - and here we are with another nattie.

4. As an aside, Bama starts the 2021 season with the last (in a while) neutral site game to start the season against Miami in Atlanta. Starting in 2022, they have a number of home-and-home series scheduled for at least 10 years (away games always first, home games follow). Texas (with Sark one would assume) is the first away game in 2022 and here in Tuscaloosa in 2023.

In the meantime, we'll have another short parade in the spring from the football building across campus to the stadium with the team and coaching staff. Bill Hancock from the College Football Playoff Committee will be on hand to formally present another trophy to the Alabama administration. They will carve a "2020" in the wall at Saban's statue (all the National Championship coaches have a large bronze statue near the stadium) and put a big marble plaque in the Walkway of Champions (and SEC Champion plaques). I hope fans can attend the spring game to see the 2021 version of the Tide.

Yes. It's a good time to be a Crimson Tide fan!

PS - Power 5 opponents are scheduled out thru 2035 currently for home-and-home series starting in 2022. Teams involved are Texas, Wisconsin, Florida State, West Virginia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Virginia Tech (some seasons have multiple P5 opponents). By 2035, Coach Saban may be slowing down and only beating teams by 3 TD's on average rather than the 5 this season.....

That's only 6 championships out of 11 years. It's barely over 50%. 55% on an exam is failing. What gives? :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, Congrats on #18. 'Bama was very impressive this year. They didn't ever look tested (except maybe 10 minutes in the Mizzou game. :lmao:). I still don't get into the whole college football thing, but you do have to respect what they pulled off this year.
