The lock-off studios have a connecting door to the adjacent 1 bedroom villa (so that both can be combined and reserved as a 2 bedroom villa. Obviously, the door is locked if not reserved as a 2 bedroom).

IMO, the dedicated villas are quieter since they do not have the connecting door. Before the recent refurb and the addition of the Murphy bed under the TV, there was a small parsons bench placed where the door would be. Not sure if that remained in the dedicated studios after the refurb.

Dedicated or Lock off is a request and isn't guaranteed.
....thanks for the response! :thumbsup2

Thank you all of the information. I was wondering if anyone new which studios have roll-in showers?

I'm pretty sure about this.

BWV does not have dedicated 2 bedrooms.

So... 1L is a 1 bedroom lockoff. SL is a studio lock off.
SD is a dedicated studio. 1D is a dedicated 1 bedroom.

If you see a 1L next to a SL...then that is also a 2 Bedroom.

If you have a studio, you can request "Village Green". The studios in this area are dedicated (no door to a 1 bedroom) and have a small bench located where the door would be if the villa was a lock-off. You will have a partial view of the Boardwalk and higher level fireworks from EPCOT's Illuminations. The Village Green is the lawn area between the lobby and Crescent lake. These rooms are also close to the elevators.

Otherwise, you have several choices to make. If you are traveling with strollers, wheelchairs, ECVs or guests who can not easily use the stairways, you will want to request close to the elevators. There is only one bank of elevators that serves the BWV wing and some of the hallways can be long.

You could request view of main pool (Luna Park), the quiet pool (and Community Hall building) or the croquet lawn. The latter area, while quite a distance from the elevators, is very quiet and overlooks the canal and Swan & Dolphin resorts. Very pretty. Plus, if you can do stairs, these rooms are closer to the Swan's bus stop than the BWI/BWV bus stop. You can get off at the Swan and walk back to your room much faster than waiting to get off at the BWI/BWV stop.

Have fun!

Bookmarks are your friend. :teeth:

If you don't use bookmarks / favorites or forget (like I usually do), just remember the DVC Resource Center (link near the top of all the DIS DVC Forums).

Cllick on the picture of Ariel and then scroll down and click on the picture of the BWV. You see the link to the Boardwalk Villas & Views (just above the map).

Great info on here. We have three standard studios booked. Looking for a good room number recommendation. Also looking for a good standard 2 bedroom requests for another trip. Thanks

Are you trying to have the 3 studios as close as possible? Or you don’t care? Because if you are requesting to have them close together and you have 3 that probably needs to be your only request. Otherwise it’s a matter of personal preference. The standard view run along the wing facing the driveway, parking lot, down to the end that heads along the path to DHS. Some people prefer to be close to the lobby to minimize walking to and from the elevator if they don’t like (or can’t take) the stairs as the elevators are at the start of the wing by the lobby. Others think it’s too loud and busy near the lobby which is also near the portico where the luggage area is located. They prefer to be further down the hall toward DHS. There are multiple stairwells that can be used to get down to ground level and cut across to the bus stop or get down to the walking path that leads to DHS. Of course if stairs aren’t an option then you have a long walk back to the elevators if you get placed down there.
