DCP War Stories

So I finished my ICP in January and one of my favorite things to do is talk about what I call "war stories" from the DCP. I'm sadistic, I know lol, but I love remembering all those weird, crazy things from my program - the moments when you were so frustrated you wanted to cry or when something totally unexpected happened, or guests that were so angry that it was funny. I dunno, it just makes me appreciate the whole experience more.

Anyone else a weirdo like me and want to share?

This is going to be good if there are enough former CPs and ICPs on here. I have so many so I will stick to the ones specifically from my CP. I don't think I would call them war stories because I always keep my cool and I love knowing that I'm right even when the guest thinks they are right but they are definitely good angry guest stories.

My CP was in 2012 before we had FP+ at HM. I was working the Guest Assistance line near the ghost horse hurst. It was around spring break and the lines were long. We had full canopy. A woman had stepped out of line to go to the bathroom. When she returned, she asked if she could wait near me for her family to catch up so she didn't have to climb over all the chains in search of them. Personally, I hate when people climb over the chains because I've seen my fair share of injuries resulting from it. So I said that was fine. There seemed to be many GACs coming through while the woman was observing and waiting for her family so she quickly learned the process and the reasons why these families where accessing the line at this point. I stopped a family to allow a GAC family to enter the line and a man in the party says "Why doesn't my kid get to cut everyone. what makes them so special?". This angered me but I kept my cool and took a deep breath. As I was about to explain the GAC card, the woman who had been watching steps in front of me, gets in his face and shouts "These families have been through more than you can imagine. Some of these kids have physical or mental disabilities. Its none of your business what the reason is but you need to think before you speak and be thankful for the life you have!" The guy didn't say a word and I just went about my business. I love that woman.

Of course we always get the "you ruined my vacation"...

Everyone also gets the "OK (insert name), from University of Blank (Or none CPs get their hometown), I'll be going to the manager!" ... yeah, ok good for you. I'm right and you're just mad you're not.

I'll add some others as more people get to posting their stories

lol, that's awesome - I love when guests defend Cast Members! I got that a lot working in Merchandise when a guest would get irate or aggressive and another guest would just look at you, smile and roll their eyes like as if to say "Tourists, amiright?" In march we got yelled at a lot about discounts, particularly from DVC and Annual Passholders who would throw a tantrum when we would ask to see their ID and membership card in order to give the discount.

The other thing that would make me laugh was when guests would complain that there weren't enough smoking areas in Animal Kingdom. I had to bite my tongue more than once to not say "Sir this is a family-oriented animal conservation park. You're lucky we let you smoke here at all!"

Oh the Zombie of 2012 at Epcot Food and Wine!

I was an Agent P attractions CM so we also go the joy of working the disability viewing areas and doing final park clear. On this specific night my partern and I get to Moracco and start to clear it. Well out from behind the old Morockin stage comes this man so my partner who was working the promenade guard part of the clear asks him if he was a guest or cast member. He mumbles so she asks again. Next thing we know this guy lunges for her neck! She screams, the guy starts half runnig half shuffling away, and we call security. Security chased this guy all over World Showcase! He would not stop, talk, or listen he just ran away. He actually made a full loop of WS going backstage both in Canada and Mexico at one point. Security and park management finally corral this guy like an animal and tell him he can either leave peacefully escorted to his resort by Disney security or if he took off again he'd leave with Orange County. Come to find out this guy was staying at the Sqan/Dolphin and though he was going to out run Disney security and get back to his resort with out anyone ever finding out. He was so high or drunk that he just kept circling the World Showcase. I think he was much more than drunk because of the way he was reacting but it was pretty funny and terrifying all at the same time.

Oh wow! These are great guys, keep 'em coming!

Anyone have funny/horrific/weird roommate stories? Or bus stories, like the time the J bus that was supposed to be going to Animal Kingdom went to Downtown Disney instead? And then made me an hour late for work lol

My story is from 2006 when Snow Whites Scary Adventure was still open. I was at the panel and there was no loader, it was a light day. One of the families in the 20 minute or so queue started to have a domestic. When they were the next party to board the wife threw a full bottle of Powerade at the husband. She missed hitting me at the panel. I estopped the ride and we were forced to evac. The family then yelled at me because I ruined their vacation. They were escorted out of the park by security.
