Disney gift cards for initial cruise deposit??

Hello! Im super new to this “cruise” experience... So I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of basic general questions.. Anyway, my question is... Are we able to make the first “deposit” payment using Disney Gift Cards?
I’m considering transferring funds into Target Disney Gift cards so I can make the deposit...

I did this last year for our WDW trip and it was honestly a bigger hassle than anticipated seeing as my bank didn’t allow me to make such a large purchase through the Target website. So before I suffer through the hassle I did last year just wanted to make sure we can even do that... TIA!

Yes, you can use Disney gift cards as payment (for deposit, or any payments).

The DCL website makes it as easy to use a Disney Gift Card as to use a credit card. Same for calling a DCL phone agent.

Just use disneygiftcard.com to combine them into as few cards as possible - you can have $1000 per card. Much easier than a ton of smaller gift cards.

And know that if you cancel the money will go back onto the gift card.

Yes, we have used gift cards for the deposits several times, but be sure you keep the card (we label ours and put it in a particular drawer) so that, in the event you cancel your plans, they can credit the money back to it.
