Disney UK ref not linking to MDE

I have to say that my experience of booking this time compared to our visit in 2015 is that the booking agents might be very efficient but they are less knowledgable and don't stay on the phone for as long. I don't think they all know about the second number for bookings either. I would ring again and hope a different person knows more. I explained I needed my second number and I must have got lucky.

I asked for my second number the last time I called, the agent had no idea what I was talking about and continued to tell me to use the one I was sent in my original email. It's very annoying to be told so many different things from people who should know. It's only been 2 weeks since I booked so I'll give it a few more weeks and then call them again I suppose.

Yeah, I tried that one as well. This is the response I got for that -

"Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Please call the Internet Help Desk at 407-939-7765 for assistance with linking your reservation. They are the experts at getting things like this resolved!

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us."
 
How frustrating. I did explain in detail that I had been told to phone for a second booking reference due to a recent computer system upgrade. I was told that the second numbers all begin with 12. Ours does but I assume that at some point they would have to change. It probably was after our 450 days out though. Hope it's sorted for you soon
 


When we booked our 2018 holiday a couple of weeks ago via the Disney Website, there was a note saying that it wouldn't be confirmed until 330 days out. We have a ref number but assume this will be upgraded to a confirmation number at the 330 mark. It's this number that will work with MDE. For our trip we worked it out to be 30th June (330 days from checkout). Will update this post if that does / doesn't happen!

i just wrote this in the other MDE thread on this board..

i never had to 'do' anything to get my reservation to appear in my MDE account....
it showed up on my MDE on its own...granted i only looked at my MDE at about 8 months out, but it was there as if by magic, without me having to input anything.
i opened my MDE and there it was...
not only that...my son's reservation also showed up in my MDE without my son doing anything...he doesn't even have an MDE account..
his reservation showed up together with mine...i never actively 'did' anything for those reservations to appear in my MDE...

Yes there is a notice on WDWTC site prior to booking that those 2 resorts won't be confirmed until 11 months out. I'm not sure of the exact reason but I'm sure someone else can explain it.

the reason the DVC resorts can't be confirmed before 11 months is that the DVC owners can make reservations at their home resort at 11 months out.

After the owners have put in their reservations at 11 months, only at that time does disney UK knows whether there are rooms left for the disney uk packages.
if there is room, then you'll get an invoice at that point..

that's what happened to us last october i think it was when we finally got our confirmation of booking at SSR for this summer.
 
Does anyone know if it matters whether you've only paid a deposit or the full balance? We're going September 2018 and I was first told on the phone by Disney 499 days from check out, when that didn't happen I emailed and asked about an internal reference number and they just said no its 365 days. I'm now at 449 and still can't link. We've only paid the deposit as it's so far away and just wondered if this makes any difference?
 
looking through my records, it seems this is the IT support number i called: 0800 16 90 749
it was the number for the disney computer software specialists..

maybe they can help? they were brilliant when i had a problem, but then again, this was 2 years ago, long before the current massive upgrade to their system...

Just to update on this the reservation has linked today, we're 458 days out and didn't need a second number or internal reference. I just tried it today as I have each day and this time it linked...

Have you tried calling the number @disneyholicfamily gave on a pp?

Im Sure on another thread someone called it recently and the technician on the phone linked it straight away.
 
and if it's an OKW or SSR booking, it doesn't link before 10 to 11 months out. Simply due to being DVC and not being in the system before owners can book at their home resort at 11 months.
 
It's all star sport, I'll give it another week then get on to the tech guys!
