Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Hi again everyone! :) I just wanted to chime in to say that so far (even though we don't check in until next week) I'm completely bowled over by the CL customer service at WL!

This morning I got a very sweet email from a CM telling me that the CL staff is looking forward to our arrival and asking 1) whether we'd like our fridge pre-stocked with drinks (she took the time to list them all...wow!), 2) whether anyone in our party has food allergies, 3) our estimated arrival time, and 4) whether we are celebrating anything special during our stay. She also explained that the deluxe rooms (which we've booked) are only on floors 1-5, but the lounge is on 7 (which I knew thanks to you guys!), and noted my request for a higher floor.

Oh my goodness! We haven't stayed CL as many times as some of you have, but we've never received an email like this before, and I was completely blown away by it! I responded to all of her questions and thanked her profusely, and also asked her whether distilled water is available for purchase at the hotel (last week I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and started on a CPAP), and she responded that she would order it from the hotel's store and have it waiting in our room upon our arrival!

This is absolutely amazing customer service, right?!? My husband and I are tickled pink and can't wait for our trip to start!!! If the service is this amazing during our stay, we may just become devoted WL guests for life! We've stayed at all the deluxes before except for WL (was always concerned about the boat service to the MK...had a bad experience several ears ago after going over there for lunch), so we're really looking forward to it. :)

You’re welcome @mickeynut1, real credit should be to @vinotinto and whoever else helps keep the Bounceback thread updated!!!

Sounds like a great start to your trip even before you get there! Hope you have a great time and enjoy WL CL :wizard:.

I just update the post with the information that gets posted by guests on Disboards. So glad to hear it's useful.

Thank you for keeping it updated :).

GF RPC update... nothing special this morning, but last night was like the jackpot. They had deconstructed (aka blended) turkey pot pies, which the chef took a picture of himself he said to show his boss, so I assume this was the first time he made them, and they were really good. Plus pulled pork on polenta, miso soy salmon (REALLY good tiny bite), avocado hummus with pita chip (single chip premade thing), and kids turkey meatballs parmigiana with extra grated cheese on the side. We had one piece of each thing just to try since we had dinner reservations, and everything was really good. That was the first time we said if we really wanted to, we could’ve made a dinner out of just what they had in the club.

Oh, and aside from all that, yesterday at breakfast we saw Blair Underwood, who is doing the Candlelight Processional. We didn’t want to bother him since he was eating breakfast with (I assume) his wife, but someone else did and he was super nice to her. :thumbsup2

It’s funny, my wife checked beforehand who was doing the Processional figuring they probably stay there (about three years ago we saw America Ferrera right outside the GF when she doing it), and then at the breakfast yesterday she said she saw this guy and thought he was really handsome and was like, oh wait, is that him? Lol... his facial hair was a little different and he was wearing a hat. But I guess handsome is handsome... :cool2:

duh I meant club level menu

This is somewhat old, I haven’t been recent enough to say if this is still the case, I’m sure the rotation is probably different now.

I’ve experienced that it’s hit or miss if the CL’s will actually post menus, I just recently stayed at 2 places that neither had posted any menus.

I have been so busy the past year that it has been hard to keep up...I retired last December and thought I would have plenty of time to keep up. Didn't happen,I have been busier than ever and don't know when I had time to work. :rotfl2:

We have been doing extensive renovations on our house and moved into an apartment the day after our July trip and moved back into our house three days after returning from our end of November early December trip. Had to cut the trip short because of the move,we expected to be in the apartment 2 months 3 at the most and it turned into 5 .

Anyway, we had a great stay at the YC. Got a call from someone at the YC a few days before the trip welcoming us to the YC and asking a few questions and asked if we had any. I told him I didn't have any since we stay there often. First time ever getting a call. We were met by a CM when we drove up and escorted to the CL floor where we were given a welcome drink and told to wait in the lounge. I thought that was a bit strange, I did online check in and didn't receive a room ready text...not that it is usual I only get them about a quarter of the time... About 10 minutes later we were escorted to the desk to get our room number. It was the farthermost room from the lounge, we have never been anywhere near that far before, but it's not really important to me to be close. When we got to the room there was welcome gift and note welcoming us back to the YC. It was 2 small coffee cakes and a carafe of milk. Complete with glasses, plates, silverware and cloth napkins. Hear that GF!! Haven't had an acknowledgment from the GF that we are repeat guests in a couple of years now. The GF keeps cutting back and other CLs are stepping up.

Had a glitch with my MB's, none of them worked on the elevator or to open the door. Worked to get into the park and for FP's. The CL CM tried three times to fix them but they still didn't work so I stopped at the front desk and someone there got them fixed. DH's all worked so we could at least get up on the elevator and open the door until I got them fixed.

Sorry I don't know why or how my font changed while replying, hope it isn't too annoying.

So, here's a "what should I do" question if anyone is so inclined to share their wisdom...

I'm booked for a 4 day long weekend in January to celebrate a *milestone* birthday of sorts - Atrium CL at CR, Bay Lake view. So I still like to check availability every day, just to torture myself with my own indecisiveness. I know I want to stay at a MK resort, but figured a Poly room would turn up at some point to tempt me to switch (which could still happen), or maybe a GF (I've never stayed there). I was not expecting a WL CL to pop up, just because I just generally don't see a lot of availability for them.

So today there's a WL standard CL available. Pros would be - we LOVE WL (especially DH) but have never stayed CL, and haven't stayed there for a few years. Also less expensive, plus I wouldn't feel compelled to buy hoppers without the draw of being able to walk to MK. And again, have just wanted to try it since there always seems to be limited availability...

CR pros - I'm the only one in the family that has stayed there and I love it. I think they would love it too! Walking distance to MK, more space. I feel like January is a good time to try it with the rest of the family, since pool time will be less important.

I'm really happy where I am, but it's hard to resist! I think I'm also not used to having so much power! Usually I have to negotiate these types of decisions with rest of my *party* so I'm second guessing myself with this one! Usually we follow the steepest discount - not an issue for this trip - and usually we do a split stay but this is too short of a trip, so I'm used to having my cake and eating it too! Thoughts? :flower:

(excuse my stream of consciousness post...)

You both love WL and it’s cheaper, that’s definitely tempting alone.

CR easy access to MK is awesome, transportation to MK from say Poly or GF has seemed to me to be a little more unpleasant the past couple of years, monorail issues and just getting on the monorail has been interesting IMO, and recent experiences. Not always the case but enough to notice and get a bit irritated.

Trying something new for a special occasion could be a fun way to celebrate also!

I am constantly looking at availability and if anything better, having fun is addicting!!!

AKL CL lounge food vs. GF CL lounge food? I should mention it would be for two moderately adventurous adults and two decidedly NOT adventurous children :rotfl:.
:thanks:

I understand your love for WL as we love it too, but I think I'd stick with CR. Since the rest of your family hasn't stayed there yet, it might be fun for them to experience it. We've never stayed CR CL, but it's on our list to try (have stayed WL CL, but years ago). Whichever you decide, hope you have a great birthday trip :goodvibes.

:thanks:

Although they had uncrustables at both, for non-adventurous I think you’d be safer at GF...

I would probably stick with CR based on the CR pros you listed above. Plus the bay lake view in the CR tower is just fabulous, and then you'd have the MK/Castle view from the lounge. Sounds like a fun trip!

Based on food alone for the moderate to non-adventurous eaters, I'd vote for GF CL because it tends to have such a large selection that everyone is bound to find things they love. However, I wouldn't hesitate to discount AKL for the food because I personally loved it!! There wasn't an over abundance of food like at GF CL, but what they had was very good. My 2 kids found things they liked, but not like at GF where they loaded up plates several times with foods they loved. If your trip is long enough and you can swing it, maybe try AKL CL for 2 nights and then move to GF CL? That was our exact trip a couple Easters ago, in fact. And I'm going to be honest, but we actually missed AKL CL when we switched over to GF CL but that's most likely because we stayed in SL (it wasn't our favorite CL, but hey we were at the GF which we love!).

@TJA , THANK YOU for your response! I can really see the draw of AKL... it's a tough decision! We will really need to evaluate which 'area' we'd like to be in (usually MK), and which other factors are most important to us (Sleep 4 vs. Sleep 5, fireworks view vs. savannah view, food options, quality of transportation, etc.). I appreciate your weighing in on the food, as well as sharing your experience!

Any chance you can consider a split? We like two nights at AKL, and then move to another resort for the rest of our stay.
