So I know I have been off and on this thread but , we have overcome the first step in buying a house in Davenport which is roughly 20 mins or so off property, the seller accepted our offer now to get through the closing aspects and if everything goes right , march or early april will be moving time

Congrats to your upcoming move!

Let us know how it is going in the spring so we can welcome you home.

:goodvibes

We just returned from our first stay at the BC and we loved it! We booked a standard room and my only room request was a large balcony. On Dec 5 we checked out of the Poly and headed to Epcot for the day before heading to the BC. We were having lunch at Teppen Edo when I received a text that our room was ready, room 5698!! we were upgraded to CL!! I figured for sure this was wrong so I didn't want to get to excited before we arrived but indeed we were CL. We have never stayed CL before so this was a special treat and I am not sure my family can ever go back. I cancelled 2 days worth of reservations just so we could completely experience the lounge and it was great!! We even had a celebrity from CP in the lounge :cool2:. Even if we weren't CL we definitely want to stay at the BC again, my 2 boys were obsessed with the pool and could have spent all day there.

:welcome: to the thread and congratulations on the upgrade!

As I said above- the first one is free!

Let us know when you book another stay here!

:cool2:

I just rented points from a DVC member and my family of 3 will be staying at the BCV 11-8-19 to 11-15-19. We are very excited. We haven't stayed in the Epcot resorts before so this is cool. Now we need lots of pixie dust for Star Wars to open while we are there.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Beach Club 1 Bedroom Suites

As best I can tell, the 1BR Suites at the BC are 1501, 2501, 3501 (is there a 4501)? and
1647, 2647, 3647, 4647

I don't have many pictures of the room views from these. I found 1647.

Does anyone have room view pictures from any of the other 1 Bedroom Suites?

:thanks:

I don't have a view pic, but we got pixie dusted into 3501 (might have been 2501?) ages ago. The balcony ran the length of the room along the Epcot/woods side, but when you were at the lake end of the balcony you had a full view of the lake and across to the boardwalk. Had at least two chairs and a side table. Very nice space, and you could hear the bands playing in the UK. I'd definitely stay in one again, but it was a bit of a hike to the lounge if that is a deal-breaker for people.

Great upgrade!! I have to say that's how it all started for us. We had a regular room booked at BC and were upgraded to CL and then began our many CL stays after that. It's really a good marketing technique! Anyway, we feel the same about BC. Whether CL or not, there's just something special about it. My kids were always the same with the pool too - we would spend days at the pool and often just popped into Epcot at night. Can't wait to get back there!

Just got back from my stay at the Yacht Club, was very nice. I got put into room 1001, the absolute furthest walk from the front desk that I could imagine but the view was spectacular and the walk wasn't too horrible if I took the outside short cut. As mentioned before in this thread the market was a complete disaster, sectioned off the whole time I was there with some sort of water leak. Luckily I didn't buy a refillable mug as it did look like they were having issues with the freestyle machines the entire time as well. Besides, the walk would have really put a damper on getting refills. I was sort of surprised that they didn't offer 2 liter soda bottles for sale as they directed me to the Beach Club market place, (who of course were out of diet coke). A walk to Boardwalk grocery found they were out as well, sigh :)
Otherwise the Christmas decorations were grand and I had a wonderful time. Did most of my dinning in Epcot or other parks.

Trying to choose a room type/location at the BC.... How long does it take to get to the bus stop if staying by the quiet pool? Will we be able to sit on the buses on rope drop mornings or will they be near capacity by the time they get to BC?

We stayed by the quiet pool in July. I would say it took us about 5ish minutes to get to the bus stop. It wasn’t bad.

We checked in yesterday. Loving it (again). We received a room not ready text while on the DME bus, but stopped by reception when we arrived and our room was ready. We were upgraded from a garden view to a water view and the room is lovely. Were able to watch Illiuminations from our balcony. We are just a few rooms down from the room DH and I had in March. I called to ask for a fan and it was brought to us in 2 minutes (really).

We waited in the DME line at the airport for 20 minutes. Our ride to YC was 50 minutes. We were the last stop after CBR, BE, and BC. It was just DD and me for YC. Our driver was very enthusiastic and a great driver. A terrific start to our vacation even though we were dropped off last.

Off to Epcot today. We have the CP package lunch at Chefs de France and the 5:00 performance with Gary Sinise. It’s a good day.

It sounds like a great trip.

Just in case you are not aware, the lines for CP (with package) start forming more than 1-1/2 to 2 hours before showtime. The seating capacity is quite large, but if you want to get seats close to the stage, the earlier you arrive, the better.

Alright need some help , I am going to ship most of m SMas gifts in advance, how easy is it to get them to the resort and to our room?

We check in on the 23rd and need to know if it wold be easier to chip to the resort or some place else

I don’t know where you’re shipping from, but this may not be cheap. You have one week, and that could mean the cheaper Ground shipping will be too slow, so you have to go with the more expensive Air (if UPS or FedEx).

Also this is the time of year where the carriers can’t keep up. I ordered something through Amazon Prime which was supposed to be delivered to my house on Friday. On Friday morning, the UPS tracking said Out For Delivery. Never came. On Saturday morning I got an email that the package will arrive by the end of the day on Tuesday.

If you use UPS or FedEx, the package will go to the Business Office in the YC/BC Convention Center. The outside vendor which runs the office will charge a handling fee. I believe you can call over and have your boxes brought to your room, but only during certain hours. If later, ask at front desk.

If you use USPS, the boxes go to a central delivery office at Disney World before going to your hotel, so you need to leave extra time for that. Boxes will be delivered to hotel front desk. Disney can charge a handling fee.

I don’t know what other destination you would have them shipped to if not your hotel.

(meant to edit my original post but phone did not cooperate.)

The Convention Center Receiving Office is open during business hours only. If you arrive on Saturday afternoon or Sunday you can not get it.
A few years ago I had Oxygen equipment FedExEd and it was delivered to YC Convention Center. We arrived on Sunday and then I was panicked as I needed it. DH was Found wondering in the Hall by a Convention Center manager who went to receiving, found it and helped in bring it to our BCV. I was so grateful. We have never flown again, but rather drive from MA so I can always have what I need.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I was happy to find the Yacht club still using individual shampoos and such. I heard on the CBR forum that they switched all to non removable large bottles - I assumed all resorts had done that. Anyhow, not a big thing but I do like the smell of the H2O+ products, at least the shampoo :) It's just one of those small luxuries I enjoy at WDW.
By the way, as much as I do like Yacht club, I'm seriously thinking about trying Boardwalk on our next visit. It's never been a very big market, but having the market roped off for all of my trip was really off putting. It gave me more time to explore the little shops and eateries at Boardwalk. For one, the grocery is MUCH larger and better stocked, and the bakery had nice breakfast sandwiches as well as other snacks.
Anyhow, I mostly just wanted to post about the individual toiletries, hope they keep those at the deluxes.

Thanks. We noticed that last night. It is just the 2 of us, so not trying to find seats for a group. We did this last year for NPH and got in line about 30 minutes ahead and had great seats. We will aim for the same today.

When I was staying at the Boardwalk, I was never there when the Boardwalk convention center business office was open. I asked at the front desk, and they went over and got my package for me. I waited in the lobby. It was a very small box, so I didn’t need help getting it to my room.

I have been so busy the past year that it has been hard to keep up...I retired last December and thought I would have plenty of time to keep up. Didn't happen,I have been busier than ever and don't know when I had time to work. :rotfl2:

We have been doing extensive renovations on our house and moved into an apartment the day after our July trip and moved back into our house three days after returning from our end of November early December trip. Had to cut the trip short because of the move,we expected to be in the apartment 2 months 3 at the most and it turned into 5 .

Anyway, we had a great stay at the YC. Got a call from someone at the YC a few days before the trip welcoming us to the YC and asking a few questions and asked if we had any. I told him I didn't have any since we stay there often. First time ever getting a call. We were met by a CM when we drove up and escorted to the CL floor where we were given a welcome drink and told to wait in the lounge. I thought that was a bit strange, I did online check in and didn't receive a room ready text...not that it is usual I only get them about a quarter of the time... About 10 minutes later we were escorted to the desk to get our room number. It was the farthermost room from the lounge, we have never been anywhere near that far before, but it's not really important to me to be close. When we got to the room there was welcome gift and note welcoming us back to the YC. It was 2 small coffee cakes and a carafe of milk. Complete with glasses, plates, silverware and cloth napkins. Hear that GF!! Haven't had an acknowledgment from the GF that we are repeat guests in a couple of years now. The GF keeps cutting back and other CLs are stepping up.

Had a glitch with my MB's, none of them worked on the elevator or to open the door. Worked to get into the park and for FP's. The CL CM tried three times to fix them but they still didn't work so I stopped at the front desk and someone there got them fixed. DH's all worked so we could at least get up on the elevator and open the door until I got them fixed.

Sorry I don't know why or how my font changed while replying, hope it isn't too annoying.

The above was copied from the CL thread...too lazy to type it all out again...

I never got around to a review of our July stay and just wanted to give a quick review from our November trip.

There has been some complaints on mousekeeping lately, and just wanted to add our room was spotless. We got crumbs on the floor from the coffee cakes and they were all swept up, not a crumb to be found. One thing I noticed and haven't seen it mentioned here is our floor looked new, and slightly different from other rooms we had. I saw boxes of flooring in the hall a couple of days, so it appears they are replacing flooring. I have seen some complaints that the floors looks worn and scratched and I noticed in July our floor was scratched up. I don't know if they are replacing all the rooms or just some of them.

I just read here on Friday that Poly is getting the wall mounted toiletries, so I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time for the rest of the deluxes :(
I personally don’t mind the wall toiletries. It’s the scent that I don’t like and they are putting it in all of the resorts. They used to have different scents for different resorts.

They recently switched the welcome gift from a small box of chocolates from The Ganachery.

I believe the small quick breads are orange/cranberry. Did your milk come with the garnish of a black fleck floating on the surface, too? :)
