Early to bed in Disney?

Mid-day breaks never worked for my family. Any time I tried it with young kids, it backfired. They refused to rest or nap back at the hotel and then were still tired at their normal time while in the parks. Due to that, we learned to to get there at rope drop and go for as long as they could handle. At those ages, it was right around dinner time - sometimes a little before, sometimes just after. We couldn't make them nap during the day. But we could make sure they got a good night's sleep at night. So, we focused on what we could control. It worked out very well. As for the night time things, we had to miss a lot of that but it was better than having miserable kids making it miserable for everyone else. We would plan just 1-2 night time things at max - one the night before an off-day and one before our trip home. (We also did earlier night time things - Wishes at 8pm was possible for a late night for us. Illuminations at 9:30pm was too late). We didn't do a party until our youngest was about 5 and we had an off day planned the next day and it worked well.
