Express Transport Ending

Any way this can be replaced with the Minnie Vans? The bypassing security was a great selling point. If the Minnie Vans could do something similar, I'd definitely pay for that.

I think that would be too hard .. the Express Service worked because you were in the park (already went through security), were escorted to the Bus and escorted off the bus and was scheduled.

It just wouldn't work for the Minnie Vans as they are meant to be work to all points (parks, resorts, Disney Springs, etc.). The Minnie Vans fit a need, but obviously doesn't fit the perks of the Express Bus service.

Like I've said elsewhere, I could see them repackaging the Express Bus service by bundling it with Park Hoppers (and just charging more for the hoppers, but using the service as a way to encourage people to get the Hoppers).

Unlike other "add-ons" that Disney has (Dessert Parties) ..it seems this one had very little complaints of Disney trying to "gouge" us for another dollar. Instead it seemed like the service (for those who knew about it and used it) was seen with positivity.

I can only imagine Disney will hear all the people speaking positively of this test and the willingness to pay for such a time saving service. The bypass of security when wanting to hop was an amazing time savings (I would guess it probably saves at least 30-60 minutes). And if they catch wind people are willing to pay for this, I am sure they will find a way to capitalize.

People are willing to spend money to save time as evidenced by:
1) Minnie Vans
2) Early Morning Magic
3) Express Bus Service
4) Staying in a resort so you can do EMH.
5) Getting super early breakfast reservations for the SOLE purpose of getting ahead at rope drop.
AND
6) Fast Passes (not an option now technically, but I guarantee people would be willing to pay a ton of money for an extra FP or two every day).

We really liked this services and it is the only "up charge" that we ever felt worth it for us. But...the buses were almost always empty. Last time I used it, I made a remark to the bus driver about it being the best extra money spent and he made I comment agreeing and adding that he wished more people used it. I figured it was doomed then. :(

Never got to use the park to park.

But why can't they have an app that lets you get picked up at the same park points and go to another park in the Minnie Vans? Seems even faster as you don't have to fill a bus and wait for it to leave.

Or even to your hotel from there?

Disney had the flyers and such at the resorts. I guess they could have done better but I don't think all Disney add ons are exactly well advertised because they are add ons.

I think for many people, something like this isn't something they would add on once there. It's really useful for / during your planning process for vets ... for newbies they could probably be sold on it during booking but once there probably wouldn't understand the value in it.

I disagree. I think if you are planning to park hop a lot during your trip this was almost a no brainer. Someone only hooping once or twice not so much. I've never done an add on before this.

Agree 100%. We don't ride a lot, maybe 3 rides tops; but we love to park hop. We did the express to avoid the security lines.

It kinda sucks, I'm heading there in 21 days :-)yay:) and planned on using it for the first time...... oh well, we will survive!

Kind of bummed about this one.

I hate almost all of the nickle and diming and add ons that disney is guilty of lately, but this one was freaking awesome.

We did it in July and I would do it on every single trip. A real big time saver.

Oh well..

I don't understand why this is ending. It seemed popular. I thought it was a great add on and loved using it.

Yes, I was beginning to get excited after deciding last week I was to pay the 29 Dollars (?) - for the 7 day deal - for my November visit. I thought the idea was silly at first (thinking - we already have buses that are direct.. but I realized it's not the same when you factor in no security check, direct to inside of the park, etc).
A tad disappointed. Oh well.

I agree about the nickle and diming, and I too was looking forward to this particular service for November.

It was popular because you bypassed security, had a fixed bus schedule that made it easier to plan around, and it dropped you off inside the parks which made it easy to get to the attractions. The fact it was empty frequently was more a concern.

I wondering if it was empty because not enough people knew about it.
The price (29 for 7 day run) was very good. I had decided last week to do it for my November trip. Too bad.

The buses were also on a schedule, instead of hit or miss like the usual buses.

Although, I am a little disturbed about the reports of these not ever running in the rain. As good of a value as I thought it was, that would disappear if they don't run in the rain...

They definitely run in the rain; during our trips in February and June we rode them while it was raining. CMs used umbrellas just like the rest of us when they escorted us.

I wonder if they should have given it a tad bit more time. I can bet that there are scores of people who were not aware of it and how it worked.

One of the bus drivers took time to come and sit with us and talk to us about it while we were waiting on other people to join us. He said he really enjoyed it, that to him it was really different than just driving people to resorts. He noted he didnt have high hopes for it because there weren't a lot of people using it, but then again he said he didnt think disney was really marketing it.

I don't disagree with that at all ... I think you missed my point a bit there :)

I wasent denying the merits or usefulness of thus but rather the sales side of it. That people probably wouldn't be as likely to add this on once they were there and had their plans in place already. And that newbies were probably less likely to see the value and among the overwhelingness that is wdw would be even less likely to add it once there.
This was in response to folks saying they didn't see any advertisements of this and another saying there are pamphlets around at WDW.
