I know I know, crazy to be thinking about another trip when I haven't had this one yet :lmao:, but I'm just wondering if we can have a thread where everyone chimes in on what their experiences have been about best time of year to get the best deals. We can then collate them all into this first post so they are easy to refer to.

I know the airlines change things up alot but it would be good to see if there are some particular times to be watching flight prices.

I think I remember someone on here saying they got a buy one get one free deal maybe sometime before Christmas, hopefully that person will see this and chime in with details.

Has anyone else got some info to add?

Oh and if anyone sees some amazing deals, maybe they could post it here in this thread?

I remember Qantas had a buy an adult fare and a child comes for free deal last year in about Feb. It was a great deal but travel was for something like in April/May of the same year. So kind of short notice. I have never seen anything like that since :confused3

I just subscribe to all the cheap and cheerful flight websites and they do the work for me. They send out periodic updates. You also get info about what's in the pipeline.

Many moons ago I used to work for Amex and the airlines had definite sales cycles you could track but the last 5 years or so all that has practically gone out the window. With the world economies being the way they are, the airlines just scout for business when they can, it appears.

Websites I subscribe to:

http://www.bestflights.com.au/ (the best one)

http://www.zuji.com.au/

http://www.airfaresflights.com.au/ - these guys send out a useful newsletter

http://www.directflights.com.au/ - these guys have good offers but are usually for very last-minute schedules (eg: Delta return SYD - LAX in November - $900 incl taxes)

Aussiegirls we got that deal last year:thumbsup2 Because my husband and I paid the two girls got free tickets and because our son was just under two he was free as well;) We got over to LA return for five of us for just over$2500:woohoo:CRAZY I know it was great! Although our tv screens didn't work on the A380. The only four on that whole plane not to work rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Which did make for a long flight for the kids. So they gave us $100 duty free voucher to use on flight each. Hubby and I now have very nice watches:rotfl: This year however for the six of us to fly to Orlando return is just over $7800. Big difference but mr two now is three and will have his own seat and plus we have my mother in law so she was extra as well.
