Hey there! Getting some possible info early for my daughter's wedding. Was wondering if anyone knows what the standard tables/chairs are that they give you if you hold a reception at the GM Lounge? All the pics I've seen or come across seem to show upgraded tables. Thanks!!

I'm surprised its even big enough for a reception.
I was up there in like 1996 and it did not seem big at all.
Sorry I can't answer your question. Hope someone else can.
I was just shocked and wanted to comment on it.

We paid to upgrade the chairs at the reception and ceremony.

We were 60 people and had plenty of room for more. It was beautiful. You have Spaceship Earth view and if you look down at the windows - you can see the cars on the track of Test Track.

Hi! Oh yeah, lots of people have had their reception there before. Actually, it looks really large to me in pictures. It's the one above Test Track. Here is a pic off Google Images of another bride's reception there!

Do you happen to remember if the standard chairs are the ones like banquet chairs or more like the plastic ones they give you at the dessert parties? I'm imagining we will have to upgrade or at least cover! Tables were normal rounds? Do you remember if they sat 8 or 10? Thanks!

Also, I haven't heard anyone say but can you hear Test Track go by? We will be having a (hopefully) 12pm ceremony for her so an afternoon reception which will last long enough to see the sunset from up there so that's good!! I'm sure the DJ will drown most stuff out but was curious!

I attended a reception here. The venue was too small, was cramped for the cocktail hour, not enough seating available at all.
the reception was also a tad crowded. And the food was abysmal. Salad was fine but main course was inedible. No one enjoyed their food. At my table no one ate more than a bite or 2 of the food.
it was beyond disappointing. The bar staff could not make a martini to save their lives.
if you have guests that smoke they have to be escorted outside to have a cigarette. Because you are backstage, your guests have to be bused in and out. It took an hour to return via bus to the BC.
I would never recommend this venue. It was a great wedding because we adore our friends. But it was not enjoyable as a guest.

I can try to post a few pictures and a very short recap video that my iPhone just did on it's own I wish. I know how to share the professional wedding video - only a few minutes.

We dressed up the couples table. We had the flowers taken from ceremony - the arch flowers were taken off and placed on the floor around their table. The mason jar flowers at the end of the seating arrangement at the ceremony were used as centerpieces - we added the wood trunk/base and lights in the mason jars.

Being tight - I guess it depends on the amount of people one has. We were 60 - a few were children. We had tables of 8 and 10. One I think had 6. We were trying to keep family/friends together. We plenty of room for dancing too. No complaints with food either. It was actually very good. It all exceeded our expectations. We ordered a lot more than what was offered. We have huge Italian weddings at home. You pay a ton of money and don't get much in Disney.

We also went straight from Epcot Italy Isola to the GM Lounge. We did hire bus for pick up in the morning to Epcot. From Epcot to GM Lounge. GM lounge back to resort. Evening bus pickup again to Epcot Dessert Party and back to the resort in the evening.

I don't think you can hear Test Track - if there is any noise - no one noticed. You have to lean on the window to see the cars go by (in a split second). I don't even remember any vibration.

I know we did not like the standard chairs offered. My daughter wanted to dress up the back of their chairs too - it was very nice with additional flowers too. I told my daughter no one was going to see them but of course, she wanted them anyway. We paid for the extra layer on her table and table with cake. I think we paid extra/upgraded to whatever cloth napkins we picked too, personalized menu per person, etc. etc.

I will try to post to give an idea. Bear with me.

I don’t know why they are sideways and it let me post the above picture and not others - tells me too large for server 🤷‍♀️ - I will keep trying but if I don't post it's because I have no clue how.

I took a photo of the photo - so not great if it works 🤷‍♀️ Technically challenged - not doing it any justice. sorry

Just trying to put whatever pictures it allows me to. The ones I want to show more to get an idea of the lounge - tell me too large

I wanted to post other pictures of the tables, the centerpiece, the arch from the Ceremony - but tells me too large - why one is larger than some others - no clue. I might give it another shot another time.

Thank you! I have no clue about pics as I don't post many on here, but appreciate them just the same! I just turned my head! LOL.

We would have 70 guests max, so it seems like it will be big enough for sure. My daughter just wants somewhere indoors for sure, is totally against ballrooms with no windows, and we won't have enough guests for American Adventure so this was the next best thing!!

I am a little worried about the size of the cocktail/ pre-reception area, here's hoping they can figure something out. Guest count will only be 60-70, so wondering how high it was for what you attended.

As far as the food, the couple goes to tasting and picks it, so I guess that would be on them and not the venue.

Hopefully they will get a good bartender, it is not the same one every time. That would be a bummer to get a bad one.

As far as smoking, not worried about accommodating them, there would be one, maybe two and I wouldn't plan a whole reception around that.

Thank you for the info.

You can see a bazillion photos of the standard chairs in the slideshow for this episode of the Disney Wedding Podcast: https://disneyweddingpodcast.com/kaitlyn-christians-epcot-wedding/

Thank you! Already bought your book for her but didn't see that episode!

Is there a master list anywhere of the different types of tables they offer and pricing? If you don't want the standard rounds? I've seen your furniture/chair list, but haven't seen anything as far as multiple table offerings. Love the glow tables, but with most of the reception (hopefully, lol) being when it's light out, seemed kinda pointless! Thanks!

No, and it is SUPER frustrating! The lists I have on my site are the closest they've ever gotten to creating one. But it's probably because their vendor's inventory changes all the time, so there's no easy way to keep track of it. You just have to email back and forth with your Floral coordinator, giving them ideas and then seeing what they can actually get.

Thanks!! I figured if there was one, you would have had it! But had to ask just in case.

Okay, so now to pick your brain again, how often would you say you hear of them saying NO for GM Lounge requests? Just wondering how typical it is to get it. She really wants indoors. We live here in Florida and she HATES to sweat, so even in Jan/Feb, the chance of a hot day is too much chance for her to take! LOL.
