Hawaii cruise

We have a week in Aulani, and a Grand Villa to boot!

We are on the Sky Princess in March 2020. We’ll be taking a 28 night cruise around Australia then, and meeting PIO on her home turf!

Your week at Aulani sounds wonderful!

I would LOVE to do that 28-day cruise around Australia! However, I will probably book a Top- and/or Bottom-End cruise on Royal Caribbean...some day!

Yes, I hope you do!

My sister was in Sidney this past winter and saw the Radiance docked there.

We are doing the WBTA on DCL next year, because it leaves from Dover. I am determined to get to the Normandy cemeteries before boarding the ship. Any chance you will do that?

I would love to be on the same cruise with you again, Bobbi - but it won't be in fall 2019. Instead, my husband and I will be on the Brilliance of the Seas Transatlantic from Barcelona.

I do hope you'll get to visit the Normandy D-Day sites. The cemeteries are especially moving.

Just got off Pride of America. It’s not Disney, but it was a great cruise. It was a wonderful way to sample all of the islands and get an idea of what they were all about. Because it cruises only on American ports a lot of the things I dislike about other cruise lines were not evident; mainly no casino, very limited smoking and no beverage packages. The food was good and the shows weren’t bad. When we were tired from running around, we just crashed on the boat. I really liked the talks from the Hawaiian “ambassador” on board and we did several craft projects she led. I would highly recommend it if you want to see Hawaii and you aren’t sure which island to see. I went into this cruise with very low expectations because of multiple reviews I read on Cruise Critic, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We looked into doing this someday.

One big advantage of the NCL Hawaii cruise is that it sails its 7-night cruises year-round. The Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruises are repositioning cruises, so they are limited to May and September.

Our May 2017 Radiance of the Seas cruise from Honolulu to Vancouver was 12 nights, and the Hawaii portion of the itinerary was identical to NCL's. The price was similar to NCL's 7-night cruise - with the addition of 5 sea days to Vancouver. I then stayed on the ship for back-to-back northbound and southbound Alaska cruises. :) Not all of RCI's Hawaii repositioning cruises are 12 days, but when you find one - book it!

The hurricane should be long gone then! I haven't watched the news coverage, but I understand they’ve had a lot of rain.
Yes they have. I have a friend on the Big Island whose family is safe. She does live in a flood zone.

We hope to see her for lunch when we dock near Kona. We will see how things are. My DSis has friends we will visit on the Hilo side as well.

Hope we can dock.

4 days away:boat:

This is our second time on the cruise. We are just as excited as we were the last time!:bounce:

We are overnighting in Maui, skipping Hilo.

Itinerary has been changed.

Learned that The Radiance of the Seas will be the only ship in port tomorrow! That makes embarking so much easier!:boat:

Seas are a bit rough. Bad enough for outside facing elevators to not work for a period this early morning.

Then..we lost water in sinks. It was already on the Internet!! Rumors abounded. ALL IS GOOD:thumbsup2 We have water, seas are getting calmer, sun is coming out, temperatures are warming up. Captain says the weakening hurricane will hit Hawaii before we get there. Can really this be the year two hurricanes hit Hawaii after none had hit since 1992!???

Oh well, food has been delicious!

Internet connection great!!

I’m glad conditions have improved...so far! That poor state has had more than its fair share of natural disasters this year!

Tonight’s the last night. What a cruise, what great service and we would do it again if we can!

In the end, Olivia was a non issue!
