Never mind meeting Disney standards, the workers doing the last leg of the renovations have to meet the exacting (and looming!) ostrich standards!

We saw this when we were at the Lodge in December. Some ostriches were doing their thing (presumably eating or browsing the grass) along the construction fenceline. But there was this one that every so often would pop its head up and look over the fence at the humans on the other side, kind of inspecting what they were doing. Clearly curious, it was fascinating to watch -- we actually spent quite a while just watching it.

they were when we watched too. they totally ignored their feathered inspector.

i wish i had taken video. It was quite funny watching... because the bird would be going along head to the ground and then suddenly pop up and look over the fence at the construction for a bit them back down to the ground doing its thing, then *pop* up comes the head and stretching to inspect...

Debating on switching to AKL Kidani for an upcoming stay. We have a late flight home and wanted to stay to enjoy the pool and hot tub on check out day but wanted to freshen up afterwards. Are there shower facilities there to use after check out?

I think that is not the case. I believe you may have read that you can go cashless and, indeed, without a CC on you because payment can be tied to your magic band by a CC. Without a CC, I believe you’d not be able to charge back to your resort. Not sure that they’d hold cash for your benefit. I have paid for things with cash at almost every resort at WDW.

it was a test they did in 2018. Good memory!! But back to normal now.

Thanks Sandi and Kim bean, I knew I’d read something. We’ll have a CC on file but I prefer to pay cash for most things day to day to make budgeting easier, so this is good news, one less thing to stress about......

staying at AKL right now and I’ve stopped by the desk to make chance a couple of times. They have/accept cash, no problem!

Located near Samawati Springs Pool in Kidani Village, Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center is home to Life Fitness cardio machines including treadmills, bicycles (regular and recumbent), ellipticals and stair climbers. Free weights and weight machines are also on site for those wanting to strength train while on vacation.
For your comfort, showers are located just across the way from the exercise room.
