Kirby's Krewe - Day 2

Got up about 7:00a and after taking advantage of the free continental breakfast, we were on the road by 8:30.

Once we got on I75, excitement began to really build.

Along the way we stopped at an airconditioned rest stop. What a novelty! We need these in Texas!

Lunch was at a McDonald's near Univeral Studios. We ate quickly so we could get on our way.

Driving into WDW was great. In 1996, we flew into Orlando and caught a shuttle bus but did not notice so much of our surroundings. Driving ourselves we got to see so much more. We drove by CB and thought about how much fun we had there. Oh well, we will have fun where we are going.

We arrived at AS Sports about 1:00. The line was short and soon got a CM who was very polite and friendly. Wish I had got his name. The kids had headed over to the movie playing in the lobby. That is a good idea for the resort to have while you are in line. Anyway, our CM was fairly new to his job and first keyed our cards for park passes only. But he caught the error and fixed it (so we thought). Our room was ready so we could go ahead and stow our stuff. We got a room on the second floor of Building 10, Touchdown, facing the bus loading area. We couldn't believe our luck being so close to the buses and the food court.

By 2:00 we were off to Epcot. On arriving there, we found out our passes did not work. The CM had given us passes for our room only. Customer Service was very helpful. After calling AS Sports and confirming that yes, indeed we had paid for park entry, we were given complimentary passes and told that the error would be corrected when we got back to our resort.

Once again we headed back to the gates and finally entered Epcot. Just love the view of Spaceship Earth with the 2000 over it. Our first stop was Spaceship Earth. Then we headed over to Innoventions East to send off a couple of picture e-mails. The kids played some kind of Mickey tag game a couple of times and we lost our DH. After finding him we went over to Test Track. This was my first experience with FP and did not understand it. It was out anyway so I made a note to myself to look into it once I got back to our room. I would have asked the CM there but he was being harrassed by a number of people who could not seem to understand why they could not get FPs. He was still being polite to them but you could tell he was slowly losing it. We left and walked over to Universe of Energy but it was closed.

We watched the dancing fountain for awhile and took family pics with Spaceship Earth and the fountain in the background. Makes great pics.

Our next stop was Canada. We saw O Canada!. This was good but if you get motion sick any at all, this will do it to you. My DD wanted to decorate a mask so we stopped long enough for her to do that. Both our kids by then were complaining that they were hungry and tired. I have to remember that they are recovering from strep. It was 5:30 by then and the first parade (forgot the name) was at 6:00 so I cajoled them into staying for it. We loved the parade and my DD got some very good pics. Once it was over we realized that our kids wouldn't last too much longer so we headed back.

Our wait for a returning bus was quite lengthy but it finally arrived. After finally getting properly keyed cards, we ate in the food court and then headed back to our room. We were more tired than we thought.

Sounds like a very nice day. Glad you were able to get into your room so quick. I never have that luck! Thanks for posting :)

Our kids played that Mickey tag game in Innoventions. :) DD beat her big brother, but we won't go there. :D

I'm glad you got your passes straightened out. I hope it wasn't too much trouble for you.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)
