Well I finally heard back from the water department, and they said that they tested the old meter and it was fine so they won't refund me for the excessive water billing or for the $30 meter replacement fee. At this point, I feel like I've wasted a ton of time on this and I just want to give up, but I also feel like people are being taken advantage of due to these failing meters and that it's not right. My husband says to go to the paper. I have all the bills, I can prove that the excessive water billing suddenly stopped with the installation of the new meter. Not sure how much more time I want to spend on this, but at the same time I think people need to be aware of what is going on. UGH.
