Well I have been back from Disneyland Paris for over a week and thought I better make a start on a trip report.

The Cast

Me: Ashley, 25, serious planner of holidays and lover of all things Disney (have a terrible habit on ebay buying Disney clothing!!!:))

DBF: Rob, 28 on the trip but turned 29 the day after we returned, lover of Disney things as well but not a fan of my ebay buying habit

This trip came about as we had gone to Disneyland Paris a few years back and thought it was time for a much needed return, with no plans at the time to return to WDW we looked at our options of treating ourselves to a bit of luxury. Last time we had visited Disneyland Paris we stayed in Santa Fe and we both really liked it but had decided we would like to stay a bit closer to the parks. We booked a package in November using the 40% offer stopping at the Hotel New York with eurostar included.

At the start of February my mum invited us round for dinner with my aunt and uncle. Out of the blue they suggested that we go to Florida to visit WDW in Septemer :woohoo: Of course we were quick to accept and before I had time to think about it we had booked 6 flights to Orlando. What this meant though was this trip was going to have to be on budget so there will be no fancy meals in this trip report, we lived off baguettes and McDonalds but I am pretty sure it will all be worth it too get back to WDW.

Well a budget holiday staying at the Hotel New York can't be too bad!! ;)

Look forward to reading all about it! :thumbsup2

Before I continue with my trip report I thought I better explain my trip reports name. Basically wherever we went a child would actually fall over in front of us, the first time we saw it, the child actually fell off the carousel and it was really horrible and have to sa that the cast member didnt even try to help and just shrugged:confused3

However after that every time we were outside we always saw at least one child trip or fall, not sure if the pavements are uneven but we were shocked at how many people were falling over!!!

Day 1: Saturday 26th February - Apologies for no pictures on this day

So our first day started with my DBF heading to his work and me finishing my packing (leaving everything to the last minute as usual!!)

DBF arrived back from work not long after 1pm and we had a few hours to waste before our taxi was due to take us to Edinburgh Waverly train station. Taxi arrived at 3pm and got us to the train station in time for our 4pm train to London Kings Cross. Journey to London was nice and relaxing, we sat in first class and ended up having a really nice conversation with Derek Thompson (Thommo is his nickname) he is a commentator for channel 4 racing and he was really interested in our trip. Made the journey go alot quicker and before we knew it we were arriving at London Kings Cross.

A short walk to the Premier Inn next to St Pancras and after them trying to convince us to move hotels (they had overbooked!!!:scared1:) but we told them the reason we booked that hotel is that we were catching the eurostar and she said that was no problem and gave us our room key. Room was lovely and was much nicer than the Kings Cross Travelodge that we usually stay in. It was late but our tummys were rumbling and I sent Rob to go to McDonalds which we then ate in bed while watching take me out!!! :)

Day 2: Sunday 27th March

Alarm goes off and we get ready to head to the eurostar terminal. Once at St Pancras we head staight through as it seems to be very busy (think there were a lot of French people heading home after the six nations match against England on the Saturday)

Took a good 20 minutes to get through the queues at security but once through we found a seat and DBF headed to Cafe Nero for some coffee's.

Something I should point out is that DBF was left a camera from an uncle who sadly passed away at the end of last year. This camera was to take a lot of pictures on this holiday so I apologise now if the trip report seems picture heavy:d:

this is me waiting in the eurostar lounge

and this is Rob looking very sleepy

I was getting restless as I just wanted to get on the train so went a walk and ended up coming across the kids activity packs and told a white lie as I really wanted a keepsake, so here is me modelling my kidspack

Before long our direct train was announced but it was also announced that it would be stopping at Lille, just wonderedif this was normal on the direct service?

070311pics134.jpg

This is Rob all excited to be on the train

070311pics135.jpg

And me all excited to be on the train as well

Eurostar was bang on time leaving and we settled into the journey and I was really surpised by how empty our carriage was, there was us, a single mum and daughter in front of us and a family of four and that was it. Rob and I took advantage of this and spread out and took 4 seats between us.

The Disney Express man came round after Ashford and asked us about Disney Express but we informed him that we wanted to go straight to the hotel and drop our bags off that way.

Coming up...... tears at the sight of the castle:smile:

(Yay this is my 100th post )

every time we were outside we always saw at least one child trip or fall, not sure if the pavements are uneven but we were shocked at how many people were falling over!!!

Maybe they spiked the orange juice with vodka?!!

We really like the Premier Inn at St Pancras, the staff there were great and the room was lovely too.

Don't worry about too many photos - no such thing in a trip report!

So the train arrived in Disneyland Paris on time and we headed over to the New York straight away. After a short wait at reception to be checked in we were greeted by a cm and she told that our room was available straight away if we wanted to head up.

We were situated in Gramercy Park area on the 1st floor and we had a large corner room at the end of a hallway. Our room was huge with a king-size bed instead of the two doubles (which I was quite disappointed with as a would of liked to sprawl in my own bed!!! lol) Our room also had two windows so there was always lots of light in the room.

After dumping our luggage and having a quick change of clothes we headed out to the parks:) The plan for today was to have a wander and just take photos and take in the sights. I also wanted to buy a mickey balloon so I could walk about with it without worrying about going on rides with it.

198634_10150159580287704_660042703_8251675_6422144_n.jpg

This was the photo Rob took on our way to the parks.

Next stop was the toy shop to buy me some ears. I just love wearing ears at Disney as it makes me feel like a child. I have the gorgeous pink princess ones from WDW but I believe they don't sell them anymore at WDW so I didn't want to bring them to DLRP. I purchased a pink fluffy pair with the crown and veil on them.

We passed under the Disneyland Hotel and into the parks for the first time. I had warned Rob that the castle was getting a refurb but I think the look of the castle as we got to the top of Main Street and the castle was covered in a grey cover. Well I burst into tears I felt so gutted and felt I had let Rob down as it was his birthday treat. He told me it was fine and that why didn't we get that balloon to cheer me up. :thumbsup2

Apologies for the bloodshot eyes in this one, this is just after my cry!!!

First stop for us was Casey's for a hotdog
070311pics140.jpg

Then it was a case of wandering of round the park, we couldn't believe how busy the park was and had a few laughs at people queueing for buzz as we knew we could ride it in emh over the next few days:)

We were just roaming and enjoying taking in the sights when we bumped into the main man himself

189166_10150159582832704_660042703_8251717_3078449_n.jpg

and he gave the balloon a hug

By the time we had finished with Mickey he was getting attacked by children so we made a quick retreat. Rob wanted to take pics of Big thunder mountain so we headed there and just sat and people watched.

After this we decided to head out the park as our feet were starting to ache and our early morning was catching up with us

200386_10150159583702704_660042703_8251731_4347407_n.jpg

We popped into the studios just for a quick wander but this park seemed to be busier than the disneyland park. The backlot tour only had a 10 minute wait so we decided to wait as it was 1st for us. Well what can I say, a waste of time and a very stupid queueing system, there were random statues that didn't even say what they were from, our tram had no narration only lift music that cut out every 2 mins then restarted. Then when we got off the tram the cm's had stored my balloon before we got on were refusing to give it back as we had no proof it was ours!!!!

By this point my magic was quickly disappearing and we decided to call it a day. We headed back to the hotel via the New York Sandwich shop in the village, all I can say is that I really enjoyed my tuna baguette from here although I do think it will close once Earl of Sandwich opens (very excited by that!!!)

Our evening consisted of watching the Disney Channel in bed before an early night as we had booked breakfast for 7am the next morning.

Wow it looked really busy. It can get very enotional at dlp:hug: with all the excitment and being tired especially if your like me and do not sleep the night before.
I can't believe that about your balloon:confused3. Did you get it back in the end? i hope you did.
I'm hoping your trip got better for you

Great photos! Especially Mickey hugging your balloon and of you lauging at the Buzz queue!:rotfl:
And nom at the Casey's hotdog! I could totally go for one of those right now!
Can't believe that about your balloon! What kind of proof did they want? And why did they not inform you of needing some form of proof before handing it over?? Rude! :sad2: Could you not have shown them photos on your camera of you with said balloon?

Looking forward to reading more!

How mean were they about your balloon? :confused3 :sad2: Hope you got it back in the end.

Looking forward to reading more. :)
