'OHANA means CHUNKY! An Aug 2017 Family TR THE END 4/26 - The Last Day and Trip Epilogue!

Definitely the best way to tackle FOP! Was able to ride twice in one day over the summer, but showed up 40 minutes early to EMH. Sooo worth it though!

That's awesome that you got to ride FOP twice. (Still fuzzy on how rider swap works, but I don't have any babies to borrow anyway, sooo). I had an issue with it being blurry when I rode, and the glasses were waaay to big for my face and I kept worrying that they would fall off! It's no surprise to me that someone lost theirs on it!

Also, love Satu'li Canteen. Probably my favorite QS on property that I've been to now.

Fun update! Awesome that you got to go on FOP multiple times. Love the "Borrow a baby" strategy, LOL

Little Sienna is too cute! That smile :lovestruc

I'm glad you all enjoyed FOTLK. That's one I only do now with folks who haven't seen it before. I like it well enough, but not enough to make the "every trip list".

Same here, I see it every so often but definitely not a must do every time. I do enjoy it though.

I looked at that boba drink but besides being sweet, I saw the word coconut and said, "blech!" Good thing you had help finishing it!

Haha the coconut I was referring to was the lava flow at the pool bar at the Poly. The Pandora drink didn't have coconut. If you're familiar with the violet lemonade they have at Epcot during flower and garden, this has it, it's the purple part of the drink. The green is like a lime slushie. But it's all pretty sweet, I'm glad a shared it.

I didn't realize that there were multiple levels riding in the same screen. I got top level the first time and bottom on the second. I was happy not to have to do as many stairs! And you guys used those babies well!

Haha we sure did, they had to have come in handy at some point!

Nice pictures with KathyM2!

Thanks! We had fun! And I was also able to send her the pics since she didn't have memory maker.

You're not selling me on those cheeseburger pods. IF and that's a big "if" I go to McDonald's I order cheeseburgers without ketchup and mustard. I doubt I would like those!

Yes I think being a fan of Mcdonalds is a given for this. Although I'm not sure there's ketchup or mustard in the bun...

Umm...

hqdefault.jpg

OK you got me. I think I meant to say "self-levitating pods which can drive themselves?" :P

Awesome that you got so many rides on FoP! That rider swap confuses me and I never used it when my kids were little…maybe it wasn't even an option the :confused3

That express bus sounds amazing…a small part of me is still hoping they bring it back before April :wizard:

It was a bit of a learning curve but once we got the hang of it, we rider swapped everything that was hard to ride, like FEA! A rider swap is good for up to 3 people so it was really advantageous to get one if you're traveling with a big group (and with small kids)

I love your "borrow a baby" advice. I wonder if I will be able to find some strangers who wouldn't mind lending me their baby for a few minutes...? :jester:

Yeah sure as long as you give them back.....well, only if the parents would take them back...:rotfl:
Look @pkondz, we have our first customer in the Borrow a Baby business!

Yeah, what's up with that?! Everyone was sick in my family, too! Oh, and I ended up getting the stomach bug after Thanksgiving #2. I'm so glad Thanksgiving food only comes around once a year... it's gonna take me that long to want it again!

I have sort of succumbed to the sickness unfortunately. I'm not as bad as Steve was, but I am congested which sucks.

I totally forgot to get this in August. Must make up for it next month! ::yes::

Think that should be rectified next month! - You are going in January?

Look for the criers. Either the parents or the kid.
They can't wait to foist their little bundle of joy off on someone.

Haha good, we can have a few scouts looking for the crying babies/adults.

Definitely the best way to tackle FOP! Was able to ride twice in one day over the summer, but showed up 40 minutes early to EMH. Sooo worth it though!

It's a good plan, right? LOL
That's great you got to ride it during EMH! It's worth the effort!!

@pkondz look our second customer who would borrow a baby!
It's actually pretty easy, At least two adults and at least one kid who is too small to ride get on line, either standby or FP if everyone has FP. Approach the first CM you see and ask for a rider swap and they will give you a pass. They must be able to see the kid. So then one adult rides while the 2nd adult can leave and sit with the kid. Then after first adult is done riding, the 2nd adult can ride using the rider swap pass but he/she can also take 2 more adults on the ride with you PLUS everyone goes through the FP line, so no need to wait on standby. That's why this works with big groups because then usually some people can get to ride more than once if they choose so. It's lucrative!!

Also, love Satu'li Canteen. Probably my favorite QS on property that I've been to now.

I really enjoy the food there too. Love the chicken bowl with chimmichuri!

Fun update! Awesome that you got to go on FOP multiple times. Love the "Borrow a baby" strategy, LOL

Little Sienna is too cute! That smile :lovestruc

Haha thanks! It was pretty lucrative for us.

and Sienna thanks you! :)

OK you got me. I think I meant to say "self-levitating pods which can drive themselves?" :P

Ah. Okay. That's different.

Look @pkondz, we have our first customer in the Borrow a Baby business!

Yes! This will be so easy!

I have sort of succumbed to the sickness unfortunately

Sorry to hear that.

@pkondz look our second customer who would borrow a baby!

We'll need to order wheelbarrows for all our cash!

I found this TR linked to your Marvel Cruise TR so I followed here and I've just now caught up. What fun! I think you are amazing to even try to lead this many people on a one-week WDW trip. They had a great guide and from the looks of it tons of fun, too. I love CS's outfits and pics with the characters! And really all the pics! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes:

Thanks for reading my TR!!
Yeah it was crazy to plan the trip for that many people but for the most part everyone just did what I told them to do so there wasn't much argument among anyone and they kinda just went with the flow!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fairing better than me. I am in the midst of a pretty bad cold which I got from Steve. Yes I finally succumed. I am so congested, I can't breathe, and worse, I can't taste anything. Blech. I hope to be better soon because there's lots of things coming up...namely, next week starting on the 14th marks our final trip down to WDW for the year! And the last use of our APs. I'm a little sad, but I think it's for the best. I really want to do some other traveling next year, and unfortunately it doesn't not include WDW...or does it...??:rolleyes1
Let's just say it may include one WDW trip..but definitely not number of trips this year.

Anyways, I was home sick from work today. I'm not sure I'll even be in tomorrow. I spent the day watching TV and just eating random things, mostly carbs as that is my comfort food. Hehehe. Oh and hopefully I can get a few more TR posts out!

Day 5 Part 3: Disney Sprinting

We all left AK to head to Disney Springs aside from Steve who went back to the Poly, probably just to get away from everyone!! And to get some R and R.

Waiting for the bus to Disney Springs, which only happens from the parks after 4pm or so.

Finally we arrived. The last time my sisters were in Disney Springs the whole westside wasn't even developed yet, it was completely different from what they remembered.

We all headed to World of Disney first as everyone just had shopping on their mind and so we started off in the biggest store. It was, of course, crazy big and there were a decent amount of people so everyone just kind of scattered everywhere. I had Caylee because we were supposed to look for her toy. We searched high and low all over the store but we couldn't find the toy. Every single car I picked up was not the right car. Finally I managed to find her mom and dad who were busy looking at toys for Bryan and told them that I was going to take Caylee to the World of Toys store a few doors away to look for her car there. I told everyone not to buy anything without me because I could get them the AP discount.

So Caylee in hand, we walked over to the toy store, which was, in fact, more than just a few doors down, but we made it. And finally, we find the toy!!
It was the Minnie transforming racer car:

image_4503e3c9.jpeg

YESSSSSS!!!

Caylee was so happy when she saw it! The quest was complete!

i couldn't find it on the app because you had to search for "racer" instead of car. Sheesh, you'd think this would be easier!

So I bought the car, and we headed back to World of Disney, but since I couldn't find anyone again, went to check out the charm section because I knew all the kids liked the charms so I let Caylee pick some out.

(here's some of what she picked out, but not from that day)

No sooner than when we picked out the charms and got ready to get in line to pay, Caylee says she had to go the bathroom.

I look around and there was no one in sight, so I put the charms down on a shelf and ran out with Caylee, because as most of you know, kids don't give you much notice when they say they have to go and then really GO.

Of course the bathrooms right next to World of Disney were closed.

So we had to run (sprint) back to where the toy store was and use the bathrooms there. No accidents en route, thank goodness.

So then I walked back with Caylee again, find the charms still in place on the shelf, and went to look for everyone. Thankfully everyone was almost done with their purchases so we got on line to pay. Bryan found a little Mickey basketball he loved. It was so expensive though! But he wouldn't let it go, haha. So guess he was getting an overpriced basketball.

After a successful shopping trip in which the girls managed to use up their birthday giftcards, we decided dinner was in order. CS really really wanted to go to WPE. It's her favorite quick service, so it was decided we would go there. I was not in the mood for WPE so I said I'd meet them there and went to get some Earl of Sandwich instead.

I got myself the Thanksgiving sandwich on whole wheat, although next time I'll just get it on white bread, because if you're going to indulge you might as well go all the way!

Everyone settled in with meals of pizza, pasta and chicken dinners.

They all enjoyed the hearty food although I don't think anyone was as enamored with WPE as much as CS is. Compared to all the gourmand food we've had so far, I guess WPE seemed a little...boring?

After dinner the twins and Kelly took the kids back while CS and I continued shopping. We went to the dress shop, Trend-D, and a bunch of other places.

I remembered that the Disney Photopass Studio had some fun pictures so we got some. However, what I did not know was how much of a wreck I looked like by this time. Please admire the hot mess that is me, and my sister whom I don't know how she still looks coiffed at this time.

There were some really cute Kate Spade Minnie stuff for sale, and surprisingly they were able to take my AP discount! So I got Kelly a small purse as a birthday present which was coming up in the next few weeks.

I don't think I even bought anything for myself that day. I was just so distracted in between Caylee, and everyone purchasing stuff through me. Now I was exhausted so we headed back to the Poly. Tomorrow was a free day for everyone - they had an extra ticket to any water park if they choose to go so I had that on the itinerary for them. Steve and I were slated to head to AK that day to ride FOP again! However, CS really wanted to go back to the park but she only had a 6 day park hopper. So she decided to go to guest services to ask about adding an extra day to her ticket. So she did just that when we arrived back at the Poly.

Meanwhile, I headed back to the room, to shower and to bed...I walked in and Steve is already passed out, LOL.

Coming up...Ohana Breakfast with Stitch and Friends!! :stitch:

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fairing better than me. I am in the midst of a pretty bad cold which I got from Steve. Yes I finally succumed. I am so congested, I can't breathe, and worse, I can't taste anything. Blech

Ugh…so sorry! Everyone around here is sick and I've been disinfecting like crazy! I don't have time to get sick!

Feel better soon!

And the last use of our APs.

You can retire them knowing they were well-loved

It was the Minnie transforming racer car:

Adorable!

went to check out the charm section because I knew all the kids liked the charms so I let Caylee pick some out.

Super cute! I have a charm bracelet around here for my DD. I started it when she was two, but I haven't added to it in years since she now has a Pandora bracelet. I'm going to hunt it down one of these days.

I got myself the Thanksgiving sandwich on whole wheat, although next time I'll just get it on white bread, because if you're going to indulge you might as well go all the way!

I love Earl of Sandwich! And yes…get the white bread…YOLO!

However, what I did not know was how much of a wreck I looked like by this time. Please admire the hot mess that is me, and my sister whom I don't know how she still looks coiffed at this time.

Not at ALL! You both look great!

There were some really cute Kate Spade Minnie stuff for sale, and surprisingly they were able to take my AP discount!

Now, I want that

I am in the midst of a pretty bad cold which I got from Steve.

Saw that earlier. Get better soon!

I am so congested, I can't breathe, and worse, I can't taste anything.

No! Not that! Anything but that!!!!

Anyways, I was home sick from work today. I'm not sure I'll even be in tomorrow. I spent the day watching TV and just eating random things, mostly carbs as that is my comfort food. Hehehe.

You go right ahead. Carb on!

We all left AK to head to Disney Springs aside from Steve who went back to the Poly, probably just to get away from everyone!!

::yes:: I know the feeling. Can you say "solo trip"?

Someone was excited about shopping:

OMG. It starts that young??? :faint:

i couldn't find it on the app because you had to search for "racer" instead of car. Sheesh, you'd think this would be easier!

That does seem a bit..... difficult.

So I bought the car

The what?

Oh! The racer!

No sooner than when we picked out the charms and got ready to get in line to pay, Caylee says she had to go the bathroom.

This is how it works.
It's a rule.

CS really really wanted to go to WPE. It's her favorite quick service, so it was decided we would go there.

Have yet to go there.
Some day!

if you're going to indulge you might as well go all the way!

::yes::

Uh, oh. Is someone in trouble?

what I did not know was how much of a wreck I looked like by this time.

You look very pretty! Wreck? Hardly!

Sorry these were so bad, I just had to share. :rotfl:

 They were fun!

We saw the new interchangeable ears at D-Living.

Um... what is that?

I don't think I even bought anything for myself that day

:faint:

I really want to do some other traveling next year, and unfortunately it doesn't not include WDW...or does it...??:rolleyes1

Oooh, sounds like fun! Variety is the spice of life...and there's always room for one WDW trip...

She is soo cute! I loved the little video where she's so proud of her pennies!

So Caylee in hand, we walked over to the toy store, which was, in fact, more than just a few doors down, but we made it. And finally, we find the toy!!
It was the Minnie transforming racer car:

Yay! I can't believe you actually found this! I didn't expect the car story to have such a happy ending.

So we had to run (sprint) back to where the toy store was and use the bathrooms there. No accidents en route, thank goodness.

Wooh! This also went much better than it could have!

We went to the dress shop, Trend-D, and a bunch of other places.

The dresses at the dress shop are so cute. I was pretty tempted by the orange bird dress there for a while, but I never gave in.

Favourite!!

Oh no! I hope you get to feeling better! Zack's mom was telling us last night that at her school today, about 1/3 of the students were out with the flu... eek!

I love your rider swap guide for FOP (I think I missed commenting on the last update) - makes me laugh! I need to find someone with babies to borrow, let me know if you start that business ;)

Good thing there were no accidents in DS. I know exactly what you mean about getting little warning with kids - I would have panicked when the bathrooms were closed! Actually, I probably would have panicked no matter what because I'm not familiar enough with DS to know where the bathrooms are :rotfl:

Since you found the car, I'd call your trip to DS a success overall! :) We still haven't made it to EOS or WPE every... thought about EOS on this trip on an unplanned DS day but I wanted to see if we could walk up and get a table somewhere... it ended up being a success, so we went with that :)

Sorry you're under the weather :( I hope you're feeling a bit better today!

Love those little charms :) I started one of those bracelets on my very first trip back in 2000. Every trip, I still buy a little charm or two to add to it even though I never wear it any more! I've upgraded to a Pandora now LOL but I still love that very first special bracelet :)

Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all--your nieces are all just adorable!!

Hope you feel better soon! I feel for you, I had a bad cough/bronchitis thing that I couldn't get rid of back in the fall, it was awful.

Nice update! Glad that you were able to find the Minnie car, it's cute!

Your PP pics with your sister were fun and cute, loved all the backdrops
