Our 800 Number

As we members know, the 800 number for our use is not "free". We pay for it with our dues. I remember a few years ago they even sent out a notice reminding people not to give it out as a general information number because they were receiving quite a few non-member calls.

Now, over on the resort board there has been a person who was offered a stay at DVC by a friend/relative but is having difficulty getting them to set it up. They've taken things into their own hands to find out availability. She just posted this remark that

she called the -- DVC 800 number (got it from CRO)

I think this is just not right. Why is CRO giving out 800 numbers? They could have given her the 407 number that would have connected her to MS.

Just a little rant and a question about how often they do such a thing....

PamOKW: i'll listen to your rants any time. they're cute. i'm not sure why ms even told her availability since she didn't have a member id number. aren't they asking for it anymore, or have i been so well trained that i automatically give them our id number?

You know --- you're right WDWNut. They don't usually do anything before taking your member number and if you don't have one they should be telling you to have the member call. ;)
