Sorry for the silly question but any estimates on what sections will be done by December?
We were wanting to stay in the 50's section but now we also want to stay in one of the refurbished rooms! :D

My guess is they will be beginning/part way through the 60's during this time frame. Unless they decide to keep the preferred rooms open over the holiday season (which wouldn't surprise me) the 50's section will not even have been touched.

Either way, I believe your odds of a refurbished room in the 50's in December is nil.

Thank you for checking those things!!! I really appreciate that -- and I'm sure a lot of other people do, too.

There's probably no chance any of the 50's will be finished. The project is scheduled to be complete in April 2018 and the 50's will be the last section done. Based on the pace they're currently working at right now, they *might* have started one of the 50's buildings by then, but there's virtually no chance they will have rooms completed by then (unless they suddenly speed up the project or change the order that they're doing the buildings.)

Wow they look so close to be ready! Still hoping I can ask for a building 9 room closest to the hall instead of the preferred room we booked in mid august! Would be the best of both world! :)

Are the beds still doubles or did they move up to queens?

    Both beds are queens.

I'm just trying to figure out why bigger beds = less storage.

I like the new rooms better for the most part. I like the aesthetics. The benefit of queen beds alone is huge! Nostalgia is kicking in though, remembering our very first visit to WDW and what the rooms used to look like.

My biggest concern is the hard surface flooring, and the sound of those on the floor above you.

Having stayed at POP twice in the past, there appears to be more storage space, especially counter tops to put stuff on. In the past, our table would get packed by the end of the stay, but that white counter under the TV looks like it can hold a LOT.

We always use both beds, so the the lack of a proper table is a bummer, but we didn't really sit at it very often. If the two chairs were gone, then there would major problems.

Was just thinking, I don't remember anyone reporting on the noise issue, yet. Is there anyone currently staying in one of these rooms that can let us know how loud the rooms are?

I was just thinking the exact same thing! Many are concerned about noise but so far I've yet to hear anyone staying there report that noise has been an issue. Curious also to hear from those who have stayed in the new rooms if noise due to the non-carpeted floors is an issue.

Just saw the pictures of the newly refurbished rooms.
I must say I'm not happy.
White walls, towels, bedding, vinyl floors, glass shower doors, no ceiling fan.
To me it looks like a sterile hospital room.

Except for the Mickey & Pluto no Disney decor at all.
Also if you don't use the murphy bed you can't see Pluto at all.

I hope this is not what they plan for the rest of the resorts.

Can't wait to bang my legs on the platform bed frame.

    Just my opinion.

Quick question probably asked. What section is done? 90's? Sorry I tried to read as back as much as I could have a toddler running around.

My understanding is that at this time only one building of the 90's is complete. (Rooms starting with the number 8.)

Love the new rooms! I have requested a room in the 90's section for our October visit.

Do you think all of the 90's will be refurbished by then?

I thought building 8 was the only building in the 90's section. In maps I have seen, buildings 7 and 9 are both part of the 80's section. Maybe that means that all 90's section rooms are complete now?

I believe that is correct 90s are complete all of the 80s are underway - I'm hoping for 70s renovated in December if they have made it that far by then

I think one factor is the larger tv. It takes up wall space so the dresser is shorter. This causes shallower drawers. In my opinion there is still lots of storage space, it's just configured differently:more "cubbies" and shelves, less drawers and hanging space.

We are on the first floor and I have not heard any noise from above ( not sure if anyone is staying up there now though).
I have heard loud door-type noises From adjacent rooms. Between the pocket doors and the sliding doors there is much more noise from that type of thing. It's easy to accidentally slam them loudly, while opening or shutting them.

Thanks:wave2: I really appreciated all the reports and updates of new rooms before my trip and wanted to "Do my part!" Getting to stay in one of the new rooms had been really cool!

I just checked into a refurbished room! I really like it except for a couple of things. I requested a room with a tub on my touring plans request, but only got a shower. I am definitely not a fan of the hard floor. And the bed is pretty high for short people like me. My feet are really going to miss being soaked in the tub after a long day at the park. I know I could have gone to the desk and asked for a different room, but I am alone and I'm sure a family could use a tub more than me.
