Railroad MK Train closing date for December 2018

The MK train closed on Dec. 2nd.

We did the Magic Behind The Stream Trains Tour on the 3rd and we had to walk too Fantasyland station to back into the roundhouse. We were a little disappointed that we could do the whole trip as advertised.

However, our tour guide was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about Walt and the importance of steam trains.

With the exception on the abbreviated train ride we loved the tour.

Normally the tour would start at the Main Street Station. You would ride around to near the Fantasyland Station and then backup to the roundhouse. Since the train is now closed and there is a train sitting at Main Street we had to cross the part to Fantasyland and board the train there. We then reversed and backed up to the roundhouse.

After the tour there we then returned to Fantasyland. Instead of heading into the Main Street Theater for the remainder of the tour we stayed in Fantasyland.

The biggest differences is the train ride isn't the whole park and the history discussion was in Fantasyland and not the Theater. You will also get an exclusive train tour pin not available anywhere else.

Thanks for the info. I was worried they wouldn't have a train ride at all.

From everything I've read it's supposed to return next summer. I guess it depends on the the TRON construction goes.
