Savi's and Driod Depot status during the phased reopening? Any guesses?

We have (had) two Savi's reservations for July 20th, still showing in MDE but I'm assuming they'll be wiped out sometime soon since my ADRs are slowly disappearing one by one. So that brings me to wonder if Savi's and Droid Depot will operate in a reduced fashion during the startup weeks or if they'll be one of the experiences that is unavailable. I know there is no way to know for sure until more details come out, but does anyone care to speculate and analyze?

We don’t really know yet. They could space the builders out at Savi. You get a choice of 2 parts style with the different parts of the build so I don’t know if they have to disinfect the unused parts. You have the same problem at droid depot. Do you want people touching all the parts? Maybe some Jedi gloves with be added to experience.

I know absolutely nothing, so of course I would like to speculate!

I think it would be fairly easy to reduce the number of guests in Savi's per "show," and have clean trays / parts / crystals ready for use. The down side would be CMs handling multiple guests' hilts - but I'm pretty sure I've seen in videos up to 6 Gatherers on hand plus the lead Gatherer/presenter, so if they took 7 Builders per session (instead of 14), each Gatherer could assist one builder. Add some hand sanitizer and maybe gloves for the Gatherers, and I think you are good to go. They could even explain the CM masks as part of the "secrecy" of Savi's. They could also find a way to display the sample pieces outside so people can't touch them.

The first key to Droid Depot would be limiting admittance to people with reservations to build (including any allowed guest/parent) - no general retail shopping/browsing. They already have a big case/display where you can see all the available parts on the wall. They would need to block guests from the conveyor belt - CMs only. Builder looks at the parts display on the wall and makes his/her choices. CM "Tech" enters the "parts order" on a "data pad." Builder proceeds to where the Techs are working at the conveyor belt. One Tech gathers up one Builder's parts order in a basket, comes out with it and escorts Builder to a work station where Tech assists Builder with Droid. Again, lots of hand sanitizer around, maybe some CM gloves, and "workshop masks" in character. Seems totally doable.

At $200 per lightsaber and $100 per Droid, I would think Disney would want to keep these open.

My October reservations at both, are still showing up in my app. I tend to agree that it's do-able, and that Disney will find a way to keep the cash flow coming in...

Yeah, my two July Savi's reservations are still hanging out there...taunting me.

I mean, that's $400 for them, but I know they'll be cancelled since there's no way they'll be like "oh yeah, you, lady, you get guaranteed reservations to DHS on July 20th since you're extra special and want to make crazy expensive lightsabers" :rotfl2:

But I do think you guys are right, they'll want to modify these experiences if at all possible so they can bring in the revenue. The waiting continues...

Big money maker for them. We have reservations for September. They could have the experiences open if they wanted to. Really hoping we can still go. I know they'll cancel the reservations but hoping we have the opportunity to make another set.

My droid depot reservation disappeared in the last hour or two as well.

Yeah, mine was gone last night too. I guess the intern that has been charged with manually deleting reservations finally got to the SWGE stuff :upsidedow

Here's hoping that we all can get something new on the books at some point!

Yup, they caught up with me as well....all my reservations cancelled....

Oh well, we'll see about trying again when we can...
Here's to hoping we get good news from others who have trips closer than ours. :D
