How does everyone take cash to Las Vegas? This is my first time and I was thinking of taking coins, but they are starting to get heavy in a coin purse here at home. So should I just switch it to singles? Or do you have a better idea. I don't want to do credit card.

Don't bother bringing your own coins. They really do get heavy. Most of the machines will accept bills, and the roaming change people can exchange for coins if you really want the thrill of putting your own coins in.
Once you win some, you will have plenty of coins. And unless you intend to only play nickel slots, don't even worry about the cash being singles.

Most places dont even have slots to put in coinage. There are very few who pay out in coins. I have only seen a few places in the old downtown area that still have coinage payout. The casinos just use the dollar slot area. The casinos have the chinese coins they make every year. They are neat to collect. They come in different denominations.

Don't bring coins!

I will take some bills and then some traveler's checks. I always make sure I have some "ones" to tip the beverage waitress when she brings me my "free" drink.

When I need more cash, I will just cash a traveler's check at the casino cashier. No need to use your credit card or access your bank account (and, thus, spend more than you intended and incur ATM fees which can be huge in a casino).

Again, all of the machines will take your paper money but not coinage.

Slots are not my thing but I have noticed lots of "penny" slots ... however, it appears from my novice eye, that you need to play more than a penny at a time!!!! Very sneaky!!!

Dont take any coins. We go 2 or 3 times a year = many years. The machines, as PP stated, take bills now, barring a very limited set in some downtown and off strip casinos. Every other place takes bills.

I wear a money belt - we take our daily "stakes" out and carry in an inside pocket, etc. I do not carry a purse, though last trip I had a wristlet for kleenex, lol.

I have a true strange story. I am fat and well endowed. I had a moderate win at Paris and had stuffed a few hundred dollar bills down my bra! (Well, yes, I had had some margaritas....) and as I strolled about the casino, a nice gentleman came up and said, 'Ma'am, you're dripping money," and handed me four bills! Yipes!

So don't drip your money around... :hippie:

Most casinos for the hotel you are staying at give you a card which tracks how much you spend. You can usually load money onto that and as you win:cool1: or lose :scared1: money it will track it on the card and allow you to spend what you have on the card. Have a great time!!!
