I could use the help of some Dis Dads.

I am at a standstill with what I want to do on our Vacation in November.

I will give you the options that I am down to at the moment.

#1. Fly to San Francisco on Friday. Spend Saturday, Sunday and Monday in SF. On Tuesday fry to LA. Spend Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday at DL. Return home on Friday. We really would love to see Cars Land at DL. The thing that concerns me is taking 3 kids (11, 5, 3) to SF. One thing that DW and I really want to do is Alcatraz. Is that even small child friendly?

#2. Fly to Las Vegas with the same time frame as above. 4 days in Vegas followed by DL.

#3. Leave the kids with grandma and take DW somewhere alone?

I really like option #1 the best right now, but I just worry that SF will be too much for the kids, and for that matter us with the kids.

Never been to Vegas or SF. Vegas just doesn't sound kid friendly to me.

Same boat. Not that familar with that part of the country. Give it a couple of days. We have some VERY knowledgeable DIS Dads who are better on that area and who don't check in as much as they used to. They'll get back to you. Good luck!

We did Alcatraz when our oldest was still stroller/snuggly bound and we had fun ... but a captive child is easier in a lot of ways then the free roaming kind. The Alcatraz tour is a little long and I'm not sure it would hold your 5 and 3 year olds' attentions long enough.

I'll also say that Vegas is not really great for kids and I LOVE Vegas. I'm sure they would find some of the shows fascinating (particularly the Cirque shows ... just avoid Zumanity (adults only) and the Chris Angel Mindfreak show (not even ticket promoters have good things to say about it and they're PAID to say good things about everything). However, being constantly bombarded by casinos and cigarette smoke is not something I want to expose my children to.

I think a great thing for you would be to go to San Diego for a few days, hit the San Diego Zoo (AWESOME!), SeaWorld (also AWESOME!), then hit LegoLand (AWESOME three!) on your way up to DL!

never been to SF, Vegas, or DL. But if I was in the SF area I would want to check out the Walt Disney Family Museum.

I looked into that as well, but for some reason, I just have been more in favor of SF instead of SD.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should just book an All-Inclusive and not worry about the planning. :confused3

I have been to SF only of those 3. My aunt lives in SF, and they drove us around and we looked at the different stuff. I had fun. I want to go to DL and of course Vegas, but will wait for an adults only trip to Vegas.

I booked the Villas at Grand Californian for November 7-10. We will spend 4 days at DLR. We are flying out November 3rd, just not sure where we are starting the first part of the trip.
