The Many Adventures of...A Family With a New Baby! Jan - Dec 2016! New 11/7!

Hahahhaa you make me nervous for what is to come with Maya! We are def still learning how to parent her. She's so different from Aria, and even Emma is already so SO much more easy going.

I'll reply to more later when I have time, but just had to say that this photo illustrates the personality/temperament differences quite well. :rotfl2:

Now THIS looks like a super fun day! I love your castle-walking picture, and it looks like (most) people had fun at breakfast! Poor Maya-- she was not having any Eeyore! I love that breakfast-- it's like sticking your head in a bag of sugar, but I'm not mad:-). You got a lot done that morning, too-- proud of Aria for being brave enough to get a part and participate. And that cruise looks REALLY fun. Bummer about treats for Maya-- at least she is too little to (maybe?) notice? I wish they had more things like this that my boys could enjoy. It's hardctontell-- is Tiana's friend the same person on the boat and in the greet? Those are some cute pictures!

Glad your dinner went so well-- what a welcome change after the night before! So many nice touches-- and the fish tacos look great!! I heard they are turning this meal into a buffet:confused3? Hope that was bad info or temporary or something.

Yes it was!! You're right, not as much for them. Have we talked about the pirate cruise? They'd prob love that! And you totally freaked me out but apparently it was a website glitch and NO Ca grill is not turning buffet. Phew! I was so proud of Aria, and now she is already talking about going for another part in October (She wavers between the horse and the beast...)

LOL when I saw that photo I definitely imagined Maya in Izzy's place...hahahahaha

Crystal Palace, Tiana's Riverboat Cruise, and California Grill all in one day - sounds amazing! I'm glad that you got the ornament you were looking for - it is so cute!

Yes it was quite the day!! My two must do restaurants on the same day, a dinner where kids weren't crazy, and Tiana's which was so fun we did it again <3

Crystal Palace is such a good breakfast. I'm glad the Photopass photographer got your traditional "walking to the castle" shot!

Poor Maya with all the characters. I didn't realize how difficult it is to have one child that loves the characters and one who hates them until our last trip. :scared: And when you're the only parent, it makes life ten times more difficult!

It's great that Aria found other kids her age to play with on the riverboat. Although, yeah, that parade view isn't much of a view!

Awesome ornament. What luck that you were able to snag the last one.

It's funny, I never really thought of Izzy as being "spirited" (until recently), as I didn't really have much to compare her to - but you have a much better measuring stick with Aria and can see the differences in temperament. In fact, thinking back to that very first trip (June 2014), I remember taking them both on Triceratop Spin while you did Dinosaur and I was so impressed that Aria followed me and did what I asked without any issues (and she was only 2). She seems to be a pretty calm and reasonable kid (for the most part, I'm sure). Izzy is basically on overdrive all day every day. :faint: Enough so that the preschool teacher pulled me aside today at pick up to discuss her "spirit". Hoping this was just a bad day for her. So, all that rambling to say that I was always baffled at people who could easily manage 3 kids when I can barely handle one, but if two are really easy going, I guess it makes a lot more sense. :scratchin

Oh don't feel bad, I wasn't blaming you guys, totally my bad leaving my food within reaching distance! I was just thankful to be able to run to the bathroom!
Oh, I know, it's just that mom guilt thing. :rotfl: I felt so bad that it happened and wished we could have prevented it. :sad2:

The girls absolutely loved their new Tsums, a la Dugette!

Haha, yeah, this was Moana's piggy that Piglet is admiring, as that was the one on sale. I'm sure they're friends, though. I think we had the other 3 Pooh characters correct.

It took a bit of cajoling to get tigger to bounce but he eventually did

18485979_10100697651288371_7641648978942594547_n.jpg
Yes, I thought he'd be happy to bounce with a kid, but it ended up feeling really awkward. Like, if he could talk, he'd be like, "No, bouncing is not for me. Ugh, that's a lot of work and I'll get all hot and sweaty and then ALL the kids will want to do it." I was starting to feel bad about suggesting it to Izzy. But, hey, he did relent eventually.

Awww poor Eeyore!

:rotfl2:

While I was waiting with Izzy there was a poor girl being attended to by paramedics - apparently she had gotten sick on 7DMT and passed out!
I saw her as I was exiting the ride, I think. Really scary, she was passed out in her dad's arms, if I remember right. :sad1: I think they ended up saying she was dehydrated? I know I overheard the paramedics talking to them a bit while I was nearby.

These were pretty fun though and Aria especially enjoyed them. She talked about the green frogs on top all the way up until we did this again in June ;)
Those are super cute!

How cute is this!! And it lights up

18485693_10100697663508881_3064387596700073576_n.jpg
Adorable! Good pick!

and perfectly timed so they had somethings to do during dinner!
I remember thinking that if there was any dinner where distraction would be good, it was this one!

I had the AMAZING fish tacos Which BTW were NOT on the menu in June!! :( :(
What?! I really enjoyed the pork version of them that I had.

Ooh, the kids' sushi dessert - that's probably the only kind of sushi I'd be willing to eat! :thumbsup2

YES! It's really tough, but we just pushed through (since at least we weren't paying for Maya)

So the cali grill waiter in june said it's a seasonal dish, so maybe it'll come back for winter? IDK. I'm a bit sad, but still looking forward to my birthday dinner

Actually looking back on this meal reminded me to make a note to pack toys in the diaper bag - I try to limit what is put in there, but for meal times I think it would be really helpful!

That's interesting about the preschool teacher! Izzy was always great when left with me, btw <3

1 WEEK until our return trip to the world! I can't wait!! I need sleep though! LOL I'm working 11 hours today and tomorrow to finish up accruing extra hours for the trip, phew, and Emma hasn't been sleeping well overnight, so I'm running on nothing right now (literally not even caffeine, I got up before our coffee pot turned on, I desperately need some though!)

But back to December!! On Day 4 of our trip we had some fun plans to eat breakfast at Be Our Guest, spend some time in MK, then hop to AK. Since we were doing the park hop, I decided to drive the 1 minute (actually I timed it at 6 minutes) to the TTC and park in the lovely front row and then we took the monorail to the MK.

18485764_10100697674711431_5486250600390115793_n.jpg

We made it to the MK in approximately 19 minutes, so really about the same as walking to the Poly from Shades and monorailnig it...

There was a long line already for breakfast reservations, but we made it into the park by 7:45. Unfortunately Dugette was waylaid at security (before they changed the security protocol) so we had some time again to stop for photos.

It was a beautiful day and had warmed enough to take our jackets off

18447583_10100697691906971_8083734545485328435_n.jpg

18485778_10100697689920951_7816762294862737149_n.jpg

Then I stopped at the FP kiosk for some FP's (this is no longer doable btw, so sad) and we made our way back to the restaurant. I texted Dugette and double checked they were happy with the pre-ordered food we had put in, and decided to check us in and get that going - which worked out well as they arrived just as the food was coming out!

Aria and Maya shared allergy waffles which were basically frozen GF waffles, - she didn't enjoy them. I had the cronut breakfast which was amazing last time, but this time hard to eat :( literally very hard unfortunately. Fruit and pastry plate were okay - there was a dark muffin that Aria wanted thinking it was chocolate, but it turned out to be a Bran muffin LOL - that didn't go over well. Neither girl was very happy with breakfast :(

18485267_10100697676163521_4406669434342136767_n.jpg

18485815_10100697676283281_1462776486071712317_n.jpg

18485836_10100697675859131_8940386799218913921_n.jpg

I snuck a pic of Dug & Dugette's meals, despite not eating meat they look a lot more appetizing lol

18519859_10100697675524801_3009734207292255339_n.jpg

Our goal had been to get out and hop on Seven Dwarfs without a line, but there was already a huge one! We still had a rider swap though from the other day, so we tried to figure out how Dugette could ride with both girls - and they said they could sit together! Awesome! So while she did that I took Maya on Winnie the Pooh

18446960_10100697675330191_3390780486245300006_n.jpg

And then afterwards we all rode Pooh again, I sat with the girls!

18447535_10100697673868121_7551886129022899772_n.jpg

Right next door, we decided to hop on the Tea Cups as Dugette had missed it the day before. Just as we were about to go in, none other than ALICE jumped in the line! We whispered to the girls to ask Alice to ride with them! When it was time to ride, she took their hands and took them on a tea cup with her! This is one of my ALL TIME best Disney memories!

18519429_10100697688503791_7102945328370290268_n.jpg

We paparazzi'd them during the ride taking blurry photos haha! After the ride, Alice took the girls to her meeting spot where there was already a line formed to meet her, and we got to take a few quick pics <3 I didn't realize it until later, but a photopass photographer had actually been taking photos during the ride too!

18485358_10100697694197381_6763818637950879816_n.jpg

Afterwards we headed to Dumbo and Dugette surprised the girls with some Dumbo tsums

18556273_10100697674766321_6053799807630330257_n.jpg

Aria rode with Izzy and Dugette, and Maya had a blast on the ride

18557027_10100697674017821_7832852841122175342_n.jpg

Then we attempted some dumbo pics

18485405_10100697685879051_5141848411617189245_n.jpg

Then Dugette and Dug took the girls on the Barnstormer while Maya played

18446909_10100697694531711_8776431062135255466_n.jpg

Izzy lost her Dumbo Tsum on that ride, so we gave her one of ours. We had FP for the Speedway, and I decided to ride but Dugette took the car behind me so no one would bump into us!

18447690_10100697675100651_7613957347398971123_n.jpg

18527621_10100697676378091_4120261284842961063_n.jpg

I had hoped that Maya would fall asleep during that time (She was hanging out in the stroller with Dug watching her) but she was still wide awake so we hopped on Buzz next. Both girls wanted to spin us!

18486309_10100697673458941_5956216225280818242_n.jpg

Then we rode the TTA where we got two cars!

18519696_10100697674197461_4386845435750235582_n.jpg

18447582_10100697687510781_2120466589524497421_n.jpg

We had a FP for Pooh so we split up for a bit, and then stopped in the store to pick up a little something for Izzy after all that Dugette had brought! Maya finally fell asleep on our way over to Pirates so she rode that with Dugette while I did a little shopping, and found some Mickey earrings and a necklace for her since she wanted to get her ears pierced on her birthday when she turned 5 in January (she did!).

After their fun on Pirates I think we split up a bit again, and went to use our Carpets ride FP

18486095_10100697675459931_4836785371605276243_n.jpg

Then both girls had a ball on Its a small world

18446838_10100697688169461_245810948656359323_n.jpg

And finally we headed to the front of the park to use our final MK FP at Talking Mickey - the FP line was super long but we stayed anyway

LOL

18486435_10100697692755271_3189764933764472371_n.jpg

From there we hopped on the monorail to the TTC, got in the car and went to AK. Parking lot was very full but we parked on the right hand side which really isn't far from the entrance.

We actually stopped for a photopass pic on our way in, and it turned out to be one of my favorite pics from the trip!

18447149_10100697691622541_6483538815330082063_n.jpg

We had a FP to meet Mickey, and Dugette was riding Dinosaur so we split a pretzel for a snack and then eventually decided to head in to meet them.

Maya was pretty nervous, but the meet went okay overall! Loved their holiday outfits!

18447273_10100697672211441_9190172159718388062_n.jpg

We then did the Boneyard, where I wanted Maya to nap. This was her face -

18446904_10100697688144511_8523678135114748092_n.jpg

no nap for that stinker! So instead I relented and let her out to play too.

18446769_10100697690889011_7316026546674390750_n.jpg

They had a lot of fun running around

18447323_10100697693828121_8254729712080396722_n.jpg

18485398_10100697690120551_8602221126132749585_n.jpg

Dugette went to ride EE, so I met up with them to grab a RS for later on, and then took Izzy with me to go watch a Flights of Wonder show. This was one thing I was hoping to do today as I hadn't seen it in forever and I thought the girls would enjoy! We made it with 3 minutes to spare!

18486065_10100697689995801_8498154510019876226_n.jpg

18485851_10100697692800181_7774994267797627011_n.jpg

The show was awesome and we had a few birds flying right over us which the girls got a kick out of!

Dugette came to get Izzy as they headed off to catch a Lion King show while we checked out the Maharajah jungle trek

18446986_10100697693339101_8340182967538394189_n.jpg

18447137_10100697689377041_1754785554480371432_n.jpg

Again, I hoped Maya would nap so I left her in the stroller strapped in, but no luck there! The walk was a lot of fun though. We headed to Africa next as I had heard about some amazing hot chocolate so I was searching for that. Aria found some drums on the way

18485422_10100697691348091_5349902431467683935_n.jpg

I got in line for the hot chocolate, which ended up being some instant Nestle, and it was terrible? IDK if they got rid of the good stuff or what but that was disappointing!! The girls met back up again and found a nice empty space to run around so that was fun

18528103_10100697692420941_1395452862066600989_n.jpg

And then we had FP's for the safari so that was our next destination

18447606_10100697692695391_420886866882886909_n.jpg

Maya was being super silly on the safari (overtired!) and kept saying WOW WOW WOW really loud. It was pretty cute but I tried to shush her. The animals this evening were out en force, and it was probably the best safari I've been on! I mean look at the lions!

18527813_10100697676048751_1474650591862266451_n.jpg

Then we headed over to Tiffin's! I was so excited to check out a new restaurant that had some really cool offerings! We checked in and were seated in the Safari room under the Baobab tree. Girls sat in the bench and enjoyed coloring - Maya was really unhappy though. Her bum was hurting her and of course, no nap this afternoon...

I appreciated that they had a number of non-alcoholic drinks to try so I ordered one

18527698_10100697686198411_9085467787114527151_n.jpg

I ordered the lobster popcorn soup! Doesn't it look delicious?

18519686_10100697676467911_7410616981213767285_n.jpg

Just kidding, they pour the soup into the bowl in front of you. Beautiful presentation!

18519581_10100697676562721_6293272513312898730_n.jpg

It was fantastic! I also ordered a chicken dish as my main and it was OK.

18557155_10100697675958931_710173646611244662_n.jpg

Around this time my stomach started really hurting so I skipped dessert and we headed out. We said our goodnights as I believe they stayed for the tree lighting but I just wanted to get back to the room. On our way out we called DH and Aria chatted with him - she was most excited about the bath bombs we had picked up earlier in the trip - they are the pirate and princess treasure ones from Basin and Aria had quite the interesting ideas on what would be inside - she told daddy all about the Pirate ship inside along with Princess wands and crowns. I thought she'd be super disappointed when we actually went to use them but she still enjoyed the little trinkets lol

Anyway we made it back to the room where I got the bag ready and clothes, Maya went right to bed and Aria watched a little TV.

OMG! I love the Lumiere ornament! I hope I can find one when I'm in WDW in November...I actually put up 3 Christmas trees, and 1 of them is all Disney, from the tree skirt to the Tinkerbell topper...
Your girls are darling!!!

What an amazing day you had (well except for the BoG breakfast)! We have had some really awesome interactions with Alice on our last couple of trips, but nothing like riding in a teacup with her - the smile on the girls faces are so cute - you can tell how excited they were!

I have never seen the Flights of Wonder show. I'm scared of birds, so I don't think it would be a good one for me!

Jealous of your meal at Tiffins. We had the RoL package with dinner at Tiffins last May, but I ended up canceling it because I thought it would be too late for the kids. Your soup looks soo good!

Aw thank you!! Every year we joke about doing a Disney tree, as the tree we pick out is about 7' wide (We go for the fat ones!!) and it is about 80% Disney as it is lol! We could easily do two, but just don't really have a great spot for another tree right now. I have a really cute Disney tree topper on my wishlist, I am hoping my husband bought it for me for my birthday!

It was SO much fun! That Alice experience will more than likely never happen again - it was such a random time, like 30 minutes after park opening? And what are the odds she'd choose us again right?! Aria still talks about it, too!

Hahahah no, I would stay away from the show! I am glad I didn't post the video then!

Well, this was a wonderful meal - we had a not so great meal in June, nothing to do with Tiffins itself but it ended up being the WORST evening at Disney World EVER. We had a RoL package and gave the tickets away, Andrew left halfway thru dinner with a screaming Emma, Maya exploded, it was just HORRIBLE. I am SO glad we only have one signature restaurant this upcoming trip (SO glad and SO sad, too of course!). Plus it's my birthday dinner so if the girls are misbehaving I can have an excuse to sit there and finish in peace...:-D

I love that the girls got to ride the tea cups with Alice. A little pixie dust at it's finest. I wish they had more wondering or roaming characters to just stumble upon.

It's a shame that your Be Our Guest breakfast was disappointing. The place is just so beautiful and the food should be just as great.

I can't believe next week you'll be back in Disney. I look forward to seeing all three girls together. I hope y'all have a great trip and wonderful weather.

Yay!!! One more week! We're leaving next Friday and driving straight through and will get there sometime Saturday afternoon. Due to car trouble that threatened to cancel our trip altogether, we are down to just one day at magic kingdom and hubby wants to go to sea world. The other 5 days we're planning on some mini golf, Disney springs and outlet shopping with lots of time chilling poolside at the rental house.

I can't remember, are you doing the Halloween party? I can't decide if I want to take the girls or if they'd fall asleep too early to really enjoy it

Whew I was way too far behind but I'm all caught up!

The Riverboat party looks like a lot of fun, although I can see that it wouldn't actually be ideal for parade viewing, which doesn't make much sense. lol But Aria in her Tiana dress is super adorable!!

Agreed although it was a cluster at Disneyland Paris, where they did seem to have some roaming characters. But definitely neat to have such a special experience.

We are having dinner this trip at BoG. They used to have an amazing salmon dish that has since been removed from the menu so I'm not sure what I'll order, but still looking forward to it. It was a special request from Lynda. Thank you so much <3

We are not doing the Halloween party. We don't stay up late, and I don't honestly feel like the party tickets are worth the $$ (since we have AP's). Aria would have a blast this year trick or treating, the two little ones would just be asleep in the stroller lol. I'd rather be in bed haahhah

Have a safe drive!

Haha yes, I think the actual parade viewing part is more like a bonus that you can kinda sorta see the parade, vs an actual aspect of the party itself. Still so fun though! I'm so behind on all TR's I've hardly had time to update this one.

What an exciting day!!!! I love that the girls had that special experience with Alice-- things like that are what keep us going back (and back!) You REALLY packed in the fun-- I think it's so nice that you had the Dug Family:-) to take turns riding things with Aria, too. And Maya waiting for Talking Mickey--I feel ya sister. I often wish it was socially acceptable for me to lie on the floor at Disney, too:-)

Your AK afternoon looks great-- I love Flights of Wonder. And amazingly, we have never done the Jungle Trek-- it always seems like there are other things that take priority over the animal exhibits. You had my favorite soup at Tiffins! It's SO delicious-- we are eating there in January for that and because the kids' steak is Waygu, and my kids have not stopped talking about it in a solid year since we went.

I hope your next trip is amazing-- I bet the pace with all those babies will have to be slower, but hopefully everyone will have a great time. Happy Birthday!

Wow, your Alice story on the teacups is amazing. What a wonderful memory from the trip!

I agree, that photo in front of Animal Kingdom is great. I'm hoping you get some more amazing shots on the trip you're currently taking!

Thank you!! Yes it was a truly magical experience! It was wonderful having them there, so Aria was able to do some rides that otherwise she wouldn't have been able to. YUM about Tiffins in January, that'll be perfect!!

I should be back tomorrow with another update from December's TR, but I wanted to pop in and say 1) Our October Disney trip was REALLY really awesome. So much so that I am just crunching numbers left and right to return, but with a nursling and zero time off it is hard to bite the bullet. I do, however, have my trip with Maya planned and it's almost ADR time for that one so I am going to write out those plans below! I'd love your input (it's been a while since I was on my own with a 2 year old!)

May 2018 with just Maya! She should be tall enough for Barnstormer by then!

Day 1 - fly in, pool time if early flight, then Disney Springs evening and dinner at the Boathouse (this dinner is for ME haha but I might swap out to Frontera Cocina or a new one, and hoping to have a stroller nap time to check out a couple new places for drinks / apps)

Day 2 - Brunch at Chef Mickeys then head to Magic Kingdom probably through the parade, then head out or stay for dinner. Haven't thought of a dinner, but possibly Pinocchio Village Haus - their vegan pizza was a HUGE hit with her this trip and I know she'd love it. With just her, we won't be doing any big rides so probably FP Peter Pan, Speedway and Buzz and do Barnstormer, Dumbo, Pooh, Ariel, Small world, carousel and TTA standby. I like sticking to one side of the park or the other so we aren't' running back and forth.

Day 3 - Garden Grill PPO BF, hop on Living with the land, Nemo, Figment, Donalds boat ride, then hop over to DHS where we'll have FP for Toy Story, Disney Jr show, and...maybe Frozen show? We'll have dinner at 50's Prime Time as I have heard they do amazing allergy meals / desserts. Also, hoping for an earlier opening of Toy Story land and if that's the case we'll spend more time at DHS.

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom park, we'll grab FP for Navi River Journey, Safari and meeting Mickey & Minnie, and do the Boneyard, Triceratops spin, the animal trails, Rafiki's Planet Watch. Head out for an early dinner at Sanaa (all but one of the sauces in their amazing Naan bread app is safe for her!)

Day 5 - Magic Kingdom, with lunch possibly at Skippers Canteen, stay for parade if we didn't already. Grab Dole Whips (safe!!) or maybe ice cream at the ice cream parlor.

Day 6 - Crystal Palace breakfast (BTW, Best character interaction meal in October, and Maya is in LOVE with Pooh <3 ) then more MK time. One of the nights 5/6 we might go back to Disney springs for dinner? Haven't figured that out yet lol. I feel like Im missing a ton of meals but then I don't really want to plan many with her.

Day 7 - EPCOT with FP's so we'll do the Frozen ride and Character spot and Spaceship earth then see World Showcase stuff. No meals planned but I am hoping the new Space-themed restaurant is open by then but that is probably far fetched?

Day 8 - Maybe Bon Voyage breakfast? Although thinking a buffet would be better for her allergies... then fly home
