Things to do in Nassau?

I know I have seen threads for this before but I just can't seem to find anything right now. We are cruising on "another" cruise line this month and will be stopping in Nassau. We were there last year and were not impressed by it. Is it worth getting off the ship for excursions or should we just stay on the ship? We love to snorkel or just relax on the beach. Has anyone ever been to Blackbeard's Cay? Thanks in advance!

I went snorkling in Nassau through an excursion through Disney. It was first class and excellent snorkling. It was my first experience snorkling and the first excursion I've done through disney that I would actually recommend. (this was my 3rd Disney cruise) If you want more info, just let me know.

I have also been looking for something to do in Nassau. The excursions Disney have posted don't really interest me. I live in Pensacola (the whitest, most beautiful beaches......oh wait a minute, where did that d@#* monster hotel come from!) Any way, I can only snorkel so long with a 3 and 5 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations. I think we will be renting a car for the day. My husband wants to "fly by the seat of his pants" WHAT! NO PLANNING EVERY MOMENT! I will have a mental meltdown! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I've debated for a long time and have decided to stay on the ship. I considered Atlantis because DD went through a big Mary Kate and Ashley phase but that seems to have passed. DH will go to the casino.

Hi watshakinranch. I agree w/you on the beaches. They are beautiful on the Gulf.

I agree with staying on the ship...unless you are going to Atlantis there is nothing worth getting off the ship there for!
