Some of you may not realize the what our state is going thru because Disney is giving a really great speel when you call them to book (or cancel as in what I did today). They are making the damage out to be nothing. Yes, they have nothing, but the state in many places has major damage. Here is a clip from the Orlando newspaper today.... read it & think before you come ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Throughout the state, long lines reappeared at gas stations. Officials reassured residents that more than 1,000 tanker trucks were resupplying gas stations that were left dry as Floridians fled Frances last week. Shoppers descended on home building stores and supermarkets to buy supplies, but many found empty shelves.

"I'm thinking of asking someone in New York to buy the generator and ship it down. I'll probably get one faster that way," said Vincent Giscombe, of West Palm Beach, who went to Home Depot stores across South Florida in a fruitless search.

Gov. Jeb Bush said retailers were working to restock stores and told people to buy enough food and water for two weeks. He urged evacuees to only to travel as far as necessary to get out of flood zones. He added that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was making plans to open a shelter, most likely at an Orlando convention center, that could withstand winds up to 155 mph and would hold 8,000 people.

Ivan has killed at least 37 people in the Caribbean. The hurricane, a Category 4 on a scale with five as the strongest, had top sustained winds of near 150 mph, about 10 mph higher than earlier in the day. It could fluctuate in intensity before its core nears Jamaica on Friday night or early Saturday before moving toward the Keys, forecasters said.

You also may want to visit the www.myflorida.com site as well as the www.FloridaDisaster.org site for more info ....there are many links on there that can be useful (even when not in hurricane season)
Our state wants you to visit & enjoy what it has to offer, but it also wants you to arrive & leave safe....

Ivan could be affecting Florida as early as Sunday afternoon. It could be making landfall on Tuesday near Tampa (Gulf Side of FL).
