Universal Hotel Secret Discount Code Emails - Do They Still Exist?

In 2015 and 2016 I used to get an Email from Universal every several months with a unique/secret discount code that you would have to call in to redeem. If I recall correctly it used to be recommended on this site to do things like respond to Email survey requests to increase your chances of getting discount code emails.

I haven't gotten a discount code Email in about a year and a half. Are these types of discount emails still going out? Or with the ever increasing popularity of Universal have they decided they no longer need to offer such deals?

I haven't seen one of those in a long time. As a matter of fact, I looked it up. The last one I had was for those exact same dates!

I got a few of them last year. Usually for dates fairly close. Could be because I’m a Florida resident they figure we could plan a trip in a week or two.

Think I got about 3 offers last year. Didn’t use them.

If I remember correctly when I first joined this site several years ago several of the board experts/moderators gave advice on actions you could do to improve your chances of getting these offers. I know one was to take surveys whenever they are emailed to you.

Does anyone have any advice on measures I could take to improve me chances of getting these discount offers?

My husband used to receive them. He got a 50% off rate several times and we used that twice, once over Thanksgiving. We haven't received any since 2016. That year also happens to be the first year that we bought APs so maybe that is why they don't send them to us anymore.
