Unsolved cases (spin-off from murderer/murdered thread)

I don't have one to post but have often searched the internet for missing cases , just thinking what a living hell this would be to any family. I can not imagine the pain that would never go away if you had a love one missing, your life would change forever without a bit of closure . Hands down one of the most sorrowful things that could happen to a family. I am sure at one point or another they are even praying for them to be found dead, just anything for closure.

The not knowing would kill me. There's a case here where they know their daughter is dead. The murderer has been convicted, and even tried to bargain for a lighter sentence in exchange for telling them where her body is! But they still have to go to bed at night not knowing WHERE she is. What an evil monster!!

Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone, missing 15 years. I've been thinking about this case non-stop. As much as we go and have gone to South St, it's still so haunting to me. Like, what happened? Where is the truck? Where did they go? How did no one see anything?

Wow I never heard of this one, how sad , my goodness this is terrible for the families not to know what happen.

These 2 are local to me.

Erica Baker has been missing for 21 years. Her body was never found.

This one is not local to me but in Florida. His body was found under a concrete pad in the backyard, but no arrests. Very weird.

I am wondering about this case. I wonder if it might be they drove off into a river , lake something like that on such a cold night with a drink in them ? It's a thought? I read of one case and I can't remember who it was but it was a young girl that went missing for many many years and one day they were draining a river ( lake , whatever it was ) a mile from where she lived and there was the car and her, and all those years they expected someone grabbed her, so sad.

Another perplexing missing person is Brian Shaffer. He was a med student at Ohio State who went to bar with friends and disappeared. In 2006. He was newly engaged and fiance was out of town. He is seen on video entering the bar with friends (gal and guy) but NOT seen leaving. Hasn't been heard from since. Friends say they got separated or something. Say he was talking to band and had tendency just to leave early. They left around closing and could not find him. They met, I think, at another place and one of the friends drove. His car was found still at the place he met them. There was construction going on in the area of the bar, like adjacent to it. Thoughts have been that he fell out a door that had been blocked to not use that went into construction zone and was hurt, laid there and eventually buried by the construction. Something like that. Though supposedly that area was all searched. Very odd case.

That is an odd one too.

I just read that they arrested Gannon Stauch’s step-mom on murder charges. They have not located his body, but it seems they are certain he is no longer alive. My heart hurts for his family.

There isn't any info I've found and it's not a murder but missing person, but this one has held my interest for 20 years.

Why? Because below is my picture of the cadaver dog searching our property 3 years after we bought the place. We bought the place off the husband and his 2nd wife. I've told the story before here, maybe in the thread this spun off of, but 2 years after we moved in a detective knocked on the door asking for the previous owner (moved to Florida.) He explained that because it was still an open unsolved case, they kept tabs on him. The next year he showed up again and asked if we'd allow a K9 unit to search the property. We thought it would be neat, LOL.

For 15 years the running joke every time I tilled up a new spot for a garden, wife would ask, "did you find the old lady?"
