Dinner

This one I booked on a whim. I don't remember if I had something else booked, or if I was initially planning on just more F&W booths for dinner. I just remember that evening peeping the app for late dinner reservations at Epcot, saw this one, and decided to grab it just for the lols.

20161027_210338-1.jpg

Arancini: Fried Risotto Balls filled with Mozzarella and Meat Ragù. (These were weird. I mean, definitely different, and I ate every bite, but not something I would ever order again. They were NOT... dare I say it... amazeballs.)

20161027_211414-1.jpg

I'll say it straight out: I should have just ordered pasta. But I'd read so much about how fabulous these pizzas were that I decided to give it a try. I went with the Prosciutto e Melone Pizza: White pizza with fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, cantaloupe, and arugula. But I don't eat cantaloupe so I had them leave that off. That's right, you heard me, I ordered the melon pizza with no melon. So what, big whoop, wanna fight about it?

So the middle of the pizza was delicious, it was just a LOT of crust. And I'm somebody who never eats her pizza crust. Ever. In fact, the less crust the better. So that was really my only issue. Too much crust, not enough middle!

20161027_213216-1.jpg

Tiramisù: Mascarpone cream, espresso coffee, lady fingers, and chocolate. (Now THIS did make the entire meal worthwhile! Jeebus Christo, this might be the best tiramisu I've ever had. And the portion was HUGE. So much so that I only ate a couple bites, and took the rest back to the room with me. And lemme tell you, it made an fantastic breakfast the next morning!)

Breakfast

My final breakfast of the trip, omg so sad! At least it was super delicious...

20161028_074141-1.jpg

All the sweets! Apple Danish, some sorta bread, I don't even know what that thing with the white frosting on it is but dang it looks tasty, the ubiquitous Mickey waffle, french toast, aaaaaaaand a croissant.

20161028_080828-1.jpg

Biscuits and Gravy, scrambled eggs, and some sort of frittata thing. I'm just now realizing that my Disney breakfast buffet choices have several trends. Hmm.

Ham and Cheese-Stuffed Pretzel. (This is no longer available the Lunching Pad, but you can now get it at Gaston's Tavern. It's pretty tasty, I would recommend it!)

So I've avoided this one for years due to all the lackluster reviews that I've read. Now, I've been doing this WDW thing long enough to know better than that. More than once I've finally given a chance to restaurant with so-so reviews, and ended up loving it. (Or, in the case of Liberty Tree Tavern, eaten at one with stellar reviews and had myself a horrible experience.) I really gotta stop paying attention to reviews!

20161028_134325.jpg

Best bread of the entire trip. No lie. It was absolutely delicious, and a huge portion. I was in carb heaven.

20161028_140149-1.jpg

Calamari. (It was fried really nicely, and the Lemon-Caper Aioli was a much nicer dipping sauce than the marinara that calamari usually comes with in most restaurants.)

20161028_140840-1.jpg

Shrimp Scampi, with Linguini tossed in White Wine and Garlic Butter. (Ya'll! This was absolutely DELICIOUS!)

20161028_143352-1.jpg

This was their seasonal cheesecake. I forget the details about it... Pistachio, maybe? I can't remember, all I recall is that it was YUM.

Dinner

Sadly, this is another meal that's no longer offered at this location (which I discovered on my February 2017 trip, much to my dismay). But feast your eyes on it and drool anyhow!

20161028_175426-1.jpg

Chicken & BBQ Ribs Meal, with Double Beans (because eff coleslaw, man).

20161028_175431-1.jpg

Close-up on all that delicious meat. Yummmmmmmmmm.

20161028_175446-1.jpg

And just look at this super adorable (and super delicious) Jack Skellington cupcake that was a dessert option! (You know, back when counter service credits still included dessert).

Whew! That's it, we're done! Thanks for eating vicariously with me, ya'll! And also, I super appreciate your patience with me in finally finishing this report! Next goal is to finally finish the Trip Report, which is going to be a much larger test, but I'll go my best! Wish me luck, and hope to see ya'll over there!

Oh, and no prize, but the answer to the question at the beginning of this report is 32 POUNDS. Yes, seriously. I gained 32 lbs in 10 days at Disney. When I get the TR done (if I ever do), compare the pics of me one the first day versus the last day. You can actually SEE me get fatter, it's pretty amazing.

Okay, I lied, I can't NOT do replies. You all are so great to take the time to comment, and I just feel like a d-bag if I don't take the time to appreciate you for it!

Darn you:) Now I'm hungry. Can't wait to go to F&W for the first time in November. The dishes are looking so good. How was the chai tea with vodka? I know the Mai Tai was good;) Now I must go to do some packing, since we leave Thursday for WDW and our cruise. Then I have to get to bed:(
The chai tea actually was my favorite boozy beverage of the entire trip! You HAVE to get one! I hope you had a fantastic cruise!

I'm so happy you're back :)
Shhh. Half-back. ;)

The food and wine pictures look so good... and now I'm hungry! My husband and I were there when you were last October and we actually saw you at Epcot. I was too nervous to say hi though! I'm glad to see you are back on here! I really enjoy reading all your reports!!
WHAT! Wait, was I making an a** of myself? Because there was one day at Epcot when I overdid it on the beverages, just saying....... So yeah, you totally should have said hi, I'm totes friendly! It's okay, though, I get it. I'm very happy to be approached but far too shy to do the approaching, so I get it. I hope ya'll had an awesome trip!!!

Billie! I was gone for many months too because work blocked the DIS (the nerve!), but they unblocked it (who knows for how long :sad2:) and I came back last week. Was sad to see you'd been gone too, but imagine my surprise this morning :hyper:
I'm not a breakfast person, but this beautiful pastry is just the thing to change my mind
You're so lucky to get your DIS back at work!!! I check it at mine every so often to see if anything's changed, but nooooope. It's a problem.

Well hello there :yay: Nice to see you back!

Around these parts we used to call something similar "disco fries", fries with gravy and melted mozzarella. So I might like this type of poutine, I don't mind cheese curds. But they're probably too thick to melt even though the fries are hot?

Oh that looks good..............

How was this (if you remember lol?) Sounds like something I'd like :)
Hi, Ariane! I hope you're having an excellent time at WDW right now! And actually, amazingly enough, I DO remember the pineapple wine, and it was delicious! It's back on my F&W list for this year!

Hey glad you're back and loving all the food pics!!

Yay!! The more food the better!!

I love all the food...but this version I'm sure does not accurately represent the heaven that is real poutine. Gotta come up to Canada - or more specifically Quebec (where I don't live :( but try some of the real stuff there. I'm sure it did not do it justice!
Yes! Whenever I finally make it up to Canada, I'm totally trying REAL poutine! I'me totally poutine-ing it my mouth!

Welcome back!! I love living vicariously through other people's food photos. Also your commentary is excellent!
My commentary is lazy and ridiculous, but I'm so happy you're enjoying it!

I'm holding onto my boobies, not because of the food, but because BILLIE IS BACK!!!!!! Or at least contemplating coming out of retirement, either way, its just great to see you. The dis isn't the dis without a little Billie in it. Who else is gonna tell me to hold my boobies :-)
If needed, I will even hold them FOR you after a few drinks, just saying. I'm such a good friend.

Billie!! So glad you are back. I just love your reports. Keep em coming, can't wait to read more
Aww, thank you!!

I love your report! You have such a great writing style and the timing of your posts is awesome!
By timing of my posts, do you mean nothing at all for month and months on end? LOL.

All the foods! I should know better than to look at this at 10:00pm. Dang it. Now I'm hungry.

I'm always hungry, so the rest of your should suffer with me.

Can't wait to read the rest of your reports!!
Just finished this one up, the TR is next (hopefully)!

Billie!!! Why were you gone?? So glad you came back.

I'm not sure that looks good - melted cheese would have been better probably.

This, however......YUM.

Looks like spanakopita, but I'm not sure if that was there. Either way - delicious!!

Please don't stay away!
Work took away my DIS access and I don't get on the computer much at home. But I'm trying! And I think you're right, I think it really is Spanakoptia!!!! Good call!!!!

I've gained 5 lbs just reading your TR! The F&W items look soooo good!
F&W was absolutely ridiculous, and I can't wait to do it again in a couple months!

I just have to say that you are HILARIOUS! I have been laughing non-stop catching up on your reviews. All the while, hanging onto my boobies lol!!! :rotfl2:
Hang onto them tightly, they're important! Too much laughter and they might bounce away! (Or in my case, punch me in the face.)

I almost feel I'm at Disney, thank you for your amazing report!
Aww, that's exactly my goal when I write these reports! Thank you so much for being here!

Enjoyed your report!!!

As a single traveler most of the time, I also have the same experience with lousy table seating locations......I can sure empathize with you!

Looks like we were there around the same time last year and this coming festival as well. Enjoy your trip this year!

Yay! You're back! Seeing all the food and wine updates made me so excited for my bonus food and wine trip that I wasn't supposed to take. I'm glad we both get to experience it this year because what fun would a year without F&W be???

I didn't care for the food at 'Ohana :duck:but this dessert absolutely lived up to all the hype!

I almost didn't get any Mickey waffles during my trip. But on my last morning there I made sure to grab breakfast. I ate six of those suckers and I don't have any idea what it is about them but they really ARE heavenly!

BRAZIL: Crispy pork belly with black beans and tomato
 #drool

20161026_195519-1.jpg

16-oz Prime Rib-Eye Steak, with Brioche, Bone Marrow, Point Reyes Blue Cheese Butter. (THE MAIN EVENT... was kinda disappointing. I know, I'm super sad about it too. The steak itself was perfection, the butter was delicious, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare... But whatever rub they use on it most have been like 90% salt. It was just too much for me. I still ate the whole thing, but with a tiny tear in my eye.)

20161026_195602-1.jpg

Sauteed Mushrooms, in Garlic Butter and a Sherry Wine Sauce. (DELICIOUS!)
This all looks scrumptious. Too bad the steak was salty :sad1:

We felt our server at LTT was less than attentive, although not rude. The food was delicious and the ooey gooey toffee cake...mmm mmm MMM! I can close my eyes and still almost taste it

This is the dessert I ordered at Via Napoli too. Holy moly, best tiramisu EVAH.

I gained 32 lbs in 10 days at Disney.
 :scared1: :faint:

I'll give you a tip on how you can eat all the carbs you want at Disney and not gain weight. About half-way through your vacation, catch a bug and then proceed to puke for 24 hours straight. It worked for me! :crazy2: :sad2::rotfl:

Thanks for all the food pics Billie. Man, do I miss real bread  (the low carb "breads" def don't count :rolleyes2)

Brunch

This was a sleep-in day for me, and sleep I did. However, I was up and at-em and ready to eat by 11am, so I was the very first customer of the day. (No, really, I was standing there waiting for them to open. I was THAT person.) And what better way to start my day but with fruit?

20161025_110516-1.jpg

Shut up. Cocktails totally count as fruit. I think this was a Banana Cabana, but who knows?

And then one of the main reasons (other than the bar) than I wanted to come here, after reading so much about this guy...

20161025_111019.jpg

The Seafood Roll, with Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallops. Hands down the very BEST sandwich of this type that I have ever had!

And let's just talk about the portion for a moment...

20161025_112311-1.jpg

I seriously had to do calculus to come up with a formula for fitting this sandwich in my mouth. And I suck at math, so I wound up wearing half of it. #worthit

That seafood roll looks amazing.

20161027_100306-1.jpg

Vanilla Iced Coffee Ice Cream Float. (Ya'll, don't hurt me, but this is 110% replaced the Dole Whip for me. This was absolutely delicious, as much as I drink iced coffee at home, I can't believe I never thought of it myself. pretty sure I got at least two more of these before the trip was over.)

What? This is a thing?! This is a must try on my next trip.

Thanks for all the great reviews and food porn. It was fun following along.

It's OHANA time!

Glad you're back and so happy to be reading about all this food! But you are reminding me of all the places I won't have time to go and eat while I'm still here at WDW lol.

Milky Way Sundae! Which I think has since been replaced by the Snickers sundae, but whatever. I do remember this bad boy, and it was AMAZEBALLS.

This looks soooo good!! Still hoping to get there on this trip but DD isn't quite as much of an ice cream fiend as I am so ...sadly it may not happen. Glad I got to enjoy it vicariously.

The Seafood Roll, with Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallops. Hands down the very BEST sandwich of this type that I have ever had!

That looks amazing. Want.

The butter to bread ratio here cracks me up.

Hilarious. But the bread does look good.

So I decided to give a visit to an old friend, one which I hadn't partaken of since 2009...

I tried this yesterday and now know what everyone is raving about. I'm glad you shared that it was Cardamom...I was trying to figure out what that unique taste was as I was eating it. Yum.

Awesome report as always!!!! Me and my boobies salute you (and they can always use some holding up) :-)

Silly work getting in your way of entertaining us with food posts and stories!!!!

That Australian cake thing looked phenomenal.

I'm still deciding about Ohana for our next trip. I have always wanted to try it, but with the picky twins I might just take my daughter. She'll eat most anything.

I always love the black pepper shrimp with noodles and yours looked amazing. That entire day looked phenomenal.

That cookies and cream brownie looked like a win as well. YUM.

Billie....oh.my.gosh. on LTT. You are IN the closet!!! At first I thought you just meant a small enclave or whatever, but nope...that's closet living right there. Um....at least you can look at the dining room of the guests??? :) So bad. I've only eaten there for the dessert I think and after seeing your food - that's not going to change any time soon.

Such a great report as always. Thank you so much for taking the time! I didn't do one on our last trip b/c I was lazy and we didn't have the meal plan so our food was not exciting in the least. If we do go in November we have "free" dining so we will have fun places again and I will do another.

20161024_193603.jpg

Pot Roast Macaroni & Cheese. OH MY GOD YA'LL. This was so freakin' goooood. Sadly, it's no longer on the menu, but it was so good that on my next trip I'm still going to come back here for the BBQ Chicken Mac & Cheese (which will probably be a disappointment after the Pot Roast, but I'm willing to give it a chance.)

I was so sad to see this disappear from the menu. I have fond memories of my ds and I squeezed in under the overhang sharing this during a downpour. While it was 90+ degrees out, it was like being cozy at home on a stormy winter day. Comfort food at it's best and I don't even like pot roast!

literally sat in a closet
That is positively the absolute worst table I've ever seen, and I've been sat at many bad tables. I can't even with this sh!t

Lunch

This surprisingly ended up being one of the very best meals of the entire trip. When I was there, they were trying out a new menu, and everything I tried was just sensational!

20161026_125020-1.jpg

Magic Star Cocktail. Because, well, you know...

20161026_124616-1.jpg

...Day drinking.

20161026_125336-1.jpg

Lump Crab Cake, with Fire-Roasted Corn Succotash and Lemon Emulsion. (This was SO GOOD. Okay, I totally could have lived without the veggies, but I was a good girl and ate them. But the CRAB CAKE, holy moly! And I come from a small coastal town with amazing seafood, but THIS was the best crab cake I've ever had in my life! That lemon sauce was pretty fantastic, too.)

20161026_130528.jpg

Yacht Club Burger: Signature Blend Beef, Swiss Cheese, Brandy Peppercorn Sauce, Bacon, Sauteed Mushrooms. (Normally I avoid cheeseburgers while on vacation because I eat plenty of them at home, but this looked too good to resist. Oh my god. If it's not the best burger I've ever had, it was extremely close. And look at those FRIES! Not your normal Disney fries, but big thick steak fries. YUM.)

20161026_132936-1.jpg

Cookies and Cream Brownie: Whipped Vanilla Panna Cotta with Cookies & Cream Mousse and Mini Oreos. (I loved this! The little mini Oreos were so fun, and that vanilla panna cotta on top was the perfect compliment to the mousse. I'm usually leery of brownies because I don't like when they're too hard or dense, but the brownie back of this was just perfect.)

Interesting... those seem to be the BOG dinner fries you get with the steak! When I was there, SciFi Dine In served those too. I LOVE them.

Lunch

I went in all ready for my crab and lobster dip, which it turns out they were completely out of. Nice. Okay, I'll take the Clam Chowder, no crackers. This is what got plunked in front of me. It doesn't even look appealing, nevermind that it's loaded with oyster crackers (which I spend the next 10 minutes trying to pick out). I would have sent it back but my server (I wish I could recall his name now) was being such a douchebag that I decided it wasn't worth it.

I"m 99.9% sure when I went there solo I had the exact same table and the exact same jerk server. It was hands down my worst experience as a solo diner at Disney.
