In a Facebook post Friday, Brookdale Senior Living in Waluga, Texas, posted an image of South holding a sign declaring his birthday wish to receive 100 cards

"Hello! My name is James South and I am a proud World War II Veteran! I will be turning 100 on October 7th, 2019 and I would like to receive 100 birthday cards," the sign reads.

South, who moved into Brookdale last year at the age of 98, told the staff he wants to have all of the cards framed and hung on his walls.

South has received a few birthday cards from friends and family.

South plans to celebrate his 100th birthday with a big party surrounded by friends and family on Saturday and Sunday, according to representatives at the senior living facility.
