Yeah

Yes, the minimum # of nights for a walk to work would technically be 2 nights (3 days) and you would have to modify every single day.

Good luck. It takes serious focus and dedication. lol

I say this as someone who has lost their walk on more than one occasion.

As noted, you need enough points for at least two nights and that includes being able to get two nights during the higher cost weekends while you walk. The fewer nights you can reserve at one time makes the process more bothersome but if you have enough for three nights for a walk to an 11 month desired date, you can do it and have the same advantage as someone who can do 7 nights, example:

Assume you want AKV value studio for Christmas week. Another member who can book 7 nights at a time and you both get lucky and can start a walk by getting a Dec 16 start date and Dec 19 departure date. Once that has been accomplished, you both have locked in a value studio for all future dates, e.g., someone who tries to book one day after you will not be able to get the studio you already have for any future date. Since you can book only three nights at a time, you have to make a change by dropping beginning nights and adding end nights at least every two days -- on Jan 18, you drop nights of Dec 16 and 17 and add nights of 19 and 20, on Jan 20, you drop Dec 18 and 19 and add Dec 20 and 21 and keep doing that until you have the dates you want. The member with 7 nights in that situation who wants Christmas week, does not have to make the first change with a Dec 16 start date until Jan 22, when he can drop six nights and add six, and then will need to make a change only once more after that to get Christmas week.

Note, however, if you are trying to get a 7-month out start date, your chances of failure are higher than someone who can do 7 nights in one reservation. The risk at 7 months out is that any owner of the resort can always block you out by getting the dates you want before you can possibly lock them in and thus walking for anyone at 7 months out can have a significant risk of failure. However, there are times when you do have enough points for seven nights that you can have a real advantage over someone who can get only three nights. Example, BLT lake view studios for time around July 4. What has happened in the past for those is that BLT has often been shown as open for any late June and July time at 7 months out from June 28. A person who can do 7 nights who wants July 1-5 can book 7 nights on June 28 a reservation that includes all the time he actually wants and then wait a few days and just drop days at the beginning. However, what has also happened in the past is that those BLT lake view studios can be gone completely for July 3 and 4 by end of the day 7 months out from June 30. Thus if you can book only three nights, you can find yourself blocked out even if you start walking on June 28, i.e., as of June 28 there are just less studios available for July 3 and 4 than July 28-July 2, and thus you can be blocked out by those taking July 3 or 4 before you can get those nights.
