But, what if *I* need a designated walker (confirmed and avowed lightweight here)??? We surely need a backup.

Carolyn

If you have more than 2 - I will give up drinking just to watch and walk!

Well, nothing major. Just met this guy on my last cruise who was WAY younger than me, very cute, very sweet, and he didn't run away to find another when he discovered I wasn't willing to do what many singles do when they meet somebody on a cruise. :rolleyes1

Play shuffleboard?

How's this for a Disney Martini??? From the 2005 WB Repo..

i hope we can plan another one!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself. I'll be joining the Thieves and am really excited about it.

I'm 57, retired about a year, formerly an elementary school teacher/reading specialist for 35 years. Formerly married, but single now for a long time. No kids, but have a niece and 6 nephews, plus 2 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews and 2 unknowns due this August. One of the things I'm enjoying in retirement is spending time with my 2 sisters and their families (we all live in AZ).:grouphug:

I've been on 3 Disney cruises (in '04, '05 and '06), all on the Magic. I've done the eastern, western, and Mexico. I'm an annual passholder for Disneyland (another thing I've been enjoying in retirement!) and have never been to WDW. I'm thinking that a few days there before the cruise might be good (if not sooner).

I'll be traveling solo, Cat. 10, room 7007, late dining. I've been glad to see that there are other solo women travelers, but everyone sounds so friendly I know I'll have a great time!:goodvibes

As you can see, I don't do a lot of posting, but I read the boards a lot and have kept up with this thread--don't know how you working people do it!;)

I really appreciate all the work that people have already gone to with website, logo designs, groups, etc. I admit I'm a little intimidated by all the chatter and that so many of you already know each other, but I'm looking forward to feeling more a part of the group as time goes on!

One last thing...I'm a scuba diver (hence NotSoLittleMermaid). Is anyone else?:fish:

Sleep tight everyone. My condolences to those who have to work tomorrow!:rolleyes1

Hey Cheri! I ALMOST booked your room onboard! I had it selected, and then it disappeared before I could finish the booking.

Are they filming at east high?

Inside scenes at Murray High and East High from what we were told (it's the last day of school at the beginning of the movie) and then they move to a "resort" for the summer vacation and that will be filmed in St. George Utah in and around one of the golf courses.

Hi  to everyone over the sea..and here too of course.

I'm still feeling really shakey and emotional about my dear friend's daughter so forgive me if I just dip in and out for a while (I've always been a bit 'dippy' anyway!)

Had a good cry at school today...I'm a school librarian and I leave my present school this week and a couple of the kids had bought me some lovely presents. These are teenagers in a big, 'comprehensive' (high?) school so I was really touched. It's been great getting through to some of the harder lads about reading and literacy.

....so....anyway....back to our cruise and nicer things eh?

I think I could definately be up for your d.o.d club btw!!!!:dance3:

Hello and Welcome fellow Zonie! I know what you mean about trying to keep up it's almost impossible for me. I thought I was doing good yesterday morning to catch up but this morning it was 15 pages plus again. Which is so much fun to read and see photos of all the kids -

SO CUTE - by the way. I love seeing people share their families.

My sis and I live here in Arizona and would like to have a DIS meet if you are up for it. That's pretty much how we met some of the folk from our last cruise and now the reason we know some from this cruise, because we are all cruising again. YIPEE!!!

We are not Axe murderers as some here will attest. PM me if you are interested Cheri.

However we are silly Disney lovers!

Thanks everyone for a morning of entertainment!

Love the crocs - I have three pair. Love the Niles and Athens! But those new styles look great too!

Everyone have a great day!

P.S. I am totally up for the 2 DOD group - unless it's those HUGE martini's - that would KILL me!!!!

my TA told me some of the problems that morning came from technical internet problems inside DCL....apparently their computer techies accidentally opened up online ressies before the rest of the DCL system, including the DCL reps on the phone....my TA said she was getting emails from her clients while she was on the phone with managers and sups with DCL trying to figure out why no one could make ressies in the system and they finally figured out the problems...that is why those on the phone that AM were on hold even longer and they did not start making ressies until abdout 0830am EST...

when i had a request into IC for the med cruises, i was fully booked before the opening day of ressies but they did not do that this time....BIG MISTAKE! i think on their part and DCL knows in some way that this is a fiasco...i hoipe for some of you that had to pay alot more then me that the prices drop....

i do not think prices will drop like the EB med cruise in may but thanks to whoever posted the rate drop because since that cruise dropped over $2000 for me i was able to go on both!:wizard:

No pressure to live up to that...We'll have to do a crash etiquette course and practice our stimulating conversation starters...We only have a week!!

Carolyn

Are you kidding? Those little faces and smiles he'll melt away immediately!

I was in Panamá last october, just to visit the Miraflores Locks visitor center, and was surprised to learn that when there was the California gold rush, lots of people from the East coast in the US would travel by ship to Panamá, cross Panamá by train (just before they built the Canal) and then embark again on the other side and get to San Francisco.

I had no idea about this and found it a very interesting fact, I though everyone traveled to the West by land. Since this is part of the US history, do they teach this fact in school? Because here we were taught about the 13 Colonies, and their Independence, but that´s about it.

For those who homeschool, the official website, www.pancanal.com has a link for children where they explain how the locks work and how the ships go 26 meters over sea level to cross, and how they are lowered again.

Thanks for the link. I know reading about this will get me all crazy and I'll want to leave NOW - but it's good to have information.

Hello everyone!!!! i finally had a chance to post again! I am booked and ready to go. I was just reading through the roll call... there are less then 20 kids under 3. I guess we will have no problem booking flounders for DS! Has anyone used flounders on the magic? I have only been on the wonder and love the girls in flounders!

Does anyone think they will do a FL resident rate for this cruise? I know they did it for the 11 nt but this seems to be filling up better then that cruise. Hope everyone has a great day. If you're in the notheast like us stay warm!

i have heard of people packing smaller suitcases and putting them in bigger ones for more room to go home with!

we just pack duffle bags (my husband has waterproof ones from the oil field) empty and fill them with all the dirty clothes leaving plenty of room in the suitcases for important stuff!

PIN TRADERS!

how much did you spend on the limited edition pins last time? and are we going to have a pajama party again? will room service deliver to the hallway? :lmao:

We have done the nesting suitcases before. But I kinda like that idea better...of course we will have no dirty clothes because we will be doing laundry during sea days as opposed...:rolleyes1
