Hi friends,

We had planned on staying in studio for our next trip but now that we have stayed in a 1 br, I just don't want to stay in a studio again. I love the room to sit out away from my family early in the mornings. I like having a place to read while DS naps. I love having a wash machine and dryer along with a full kitchen. Ok, I don't use the kitchen but I like it!

Am I spoiled? Is this just a common occurrence? Now I have to buy more points to support my 1 br habit. Urg:rotfl:

You got spoiled.

Yep, when we stay in a studio over a Saturday night to save points, we feel like we're slumming!:lmao:

Im sort of worried about exactly what you are going through. We will have too many points next year to use them in a studio, even with banking points. So, I thought lets get a one bedroom, and really live it up!:rotfl:

But then I was thinking, 1 time in a 1 bedroom and I won't want to stay in the studio's again. But then that means I would have to get more points! Which we have already added on once and we have only owned for 1 year.

Disney Magical Marketing;

1. Get you in showing how many trip you could take with few points, WHAT A BARGAIN.
2. Show you the 1 and 2 bedroom DVC, so you could see ALL THAT COULD BE YOURS. :3dglasses
3. Get you hooked on the roomier accomodations
4. And magically you find it in your budgets to buy MORE POINTS.....and you do! Brilliant!! :rotfl2:

Same thing happened to us! It is so nice not to have to go to bed at 8:00pm with our kids! We can tuck them in for the night, then kick back and watch tv or read for a while. And when the kids get older, we can go to bed and let them stay up late watching tv ...:rotfl: !

I hate to tell you, but it gets worse!

The four of us stay in a 2BR. We like to keep the living room open so the early morning activity of some don't disrupt the others' sleep.

I've seen "Studio Lovers" threads before and for many the studio makes a ton of sense and they are very happy there. For us, the only studio we want to stay in right now happens to be locked-on to our 1BR! ;)

When DW and I are empty nested, we intend to stay with the 1BR. We'll see how that resolve works out when we look at how many more nights we could stay in a studio! :)

The deal I made with my DH to get the Animal Kingdom was simple. I get more points if he never has to stay in a studio again. Not even to save weekend points. Our last trip we spent four nights in a studio at VWL. DH told me that we had to stay there again because right now it was his least favorite resort. He thinks it was all because of the room.

You got spoiled.

But know that it happens to lots of people. We'd always stayed in studios, but one time we'd just done an add-on before a trip, so we called and were able to "splurge" on a 1 BR. I was sure we'd be able to go back to a studio after that one splurge. No way!

We actually bought enough points so the 4 of us can stay in a 2br. DH gets up early most days and goes works out in the gym! The kids sleep much better in their own beds and in another room. Plus we need the King size bed(DH is 6'4").

I hate to say our idea of "slumming" might be staying in those 1br's at AKV that sleep 5.

:snooty:

DH and I have been empty-nesters for quite awhile. We usually stay in a studio, but a few years ago, we had a 1-bedroom at the BWV. :cloud9: I was looking around at all the space and the kitchen, and remarked how great the room was. DH said, "It's up to you--a few weeks in a room like this, or a month or so in a studio." Hmmmm.... Didn't take me long to figure this one out!

We have no problem going back to a studio. And the month of January is going to be nice at the BWV! ;) (For most of the time, I'll be solo.) :)

Yeah, it's going to be a tough decision.

Guess we'll just have to add-on more points!! :lmao:

Our very first DVC trip to BCV was in a studio. Our first morning, I was on my cell phone to MS while DH and DDs were having a Princess breakfast in Norway trying to get switched to a 1BR. It didn't happen that trip, but we have done a 1BR ever since, and Yes--added on:rolleyes:

I love the kitchen (really only use it to cook breakfast, but that's a big time and $$$ saver for us early park goers) and the washer/dryer. I have no problem doing a load of wash each night--it beats having to pack and lug clothes for 4 people and then have everyone want to wear the same 2 things, anyway ;)

We did do an OKW studio in May and will do an AKV studio for a few days in Nov, but in my heart of hearts, I want that 1BR!

a studio is half the amount of a 1-bedroom or a 1-bedroom is twice the points of a studio most of the time.

see why I like studios.

We did do an OKW studio in May

the laundry mat at OKW is at the pools - so just go swimming while you are doing your cloths. promise it won't take long!!!

now if you stay in a 1-bedroom at OKW - forget it - it is so much bigger and nicer.

I go back and forth a lot.... depends on what's available. For my July visit which I booked at about 45 days out, I decided that I wanted to waitlist for BCV. (I had a SSR Studio, but friends I am meeting are staying at BCV) I called at 30 days and put myself on the waitlist for EITHER a 1 BR or Studio for two nights. Got the 1 BR which is probably a waste of points, but I am happy! :)

I am fine either way.

Ditto. I've found it difficult to downsize to a 1BR. Well, actually I've found it impossible to downsize to a 1BR since DW refuses to do it. :)

We are staying in a one bedroom at BWV for the first time after staying in a studio for all our previous visits! Something tells me after this trip we are going to do an add on!

We owned for 4 years before we stayed in a studio, and then it was awful to take that step down!!! Now we only book 1, 2 and 3 bedroom villas unless we need to add an extra Saturday night to our stay because of late airline scheduling. When it's just the 2 of us, the 1 bedroom keeps us sane. We live in a 6000 Sq ft house, and a studio just does not fit us to terribly well. I like to let DH set up his computer on the dining room table and do his "work" while I watch TV, cook, take a Jacuzzi, or just relax with a cup of coffee out on the porch. I really hate to go without the laundry room too.
