I am making a lion costume and I am taking 6 inch pieces of ribbon, gluing the ends and then gluing to the costume (which is a thin fleece) to make the mane. I have Alene's fabric glue which is supposed to be quick stick...or whatever, but it isn't too great.

Anyone know what I could use that would work better? I have to sit and keep pushing the ends down.

Thanks.
Susan

How about hot glue? I love the stuff, course I always burn myself with the glue but it works!!! :rotfl:

Hello everyone,,,,,I have been lurking on here but havent had much time to post. Love it all though....I really wanted to put in my labor stories and wedding pics but couldnt even do that  Sorry. Yesterday we went to our Walmart With Fabric (as opposed to our local one without fabric  )...a mere 50 min drive, and I had to get my Christmas fabric for some outfits! What fun! Now I gotta get busy!!! Have a great day...I will post pics as I finish! :goodvibes

How about fabritac. It comes in a clear bottle with blue and red writing. I know joanns sells it. To me it's like hot clue that won't burn you. And it sets up fast.

Where is everyone? These are some travel pillow cases that I made. Super quick and easy. The girls Disney pillowcases will have rick rack along the seam between the red gingham and white. The white fabric is that minky stuff - SUPER SOFT, the others are made from fannel.

I Love your monogrammed pillow...what a great idea

I haven't been sewing for about a month, but this week was motivated and found time. Here's some of what I completed. I have 70+ outfits to complete by mid March, so I started early. That does not include what I'm doing for the adults on our trip.

Something for me!

Something else for me!

Some things for the boys. This is my first try at letters and they are not great and NOW my husband now tells me the last letter should ne an "A" not an "O". Anyone know what it should be?

I just threw together Tigger using the face cut out of an old Halloween costume I got second hand.

I'm so proud of myself for completing sooo much this weekend. I also did 3 shirts for my DSIL and finished a pheasant cinderella top for my DN xmas present. I sewed the elastic on 3 tutu skirts and have one more to go. It's only Sunday morning! I only have my DS15mos here today, the other 2 are at grandma's so I have time to sew again.   3 minimum bananas right? Sorry for the long post, just haven't posted any completed projects for so long I got a little excited:woohoo: :woohoo:

WOW JAJONE!! You were sure busy! Just love each one! What did you use for the pattern for the letters?

70 outfits! How many in your group?

Susan

Oh, Holly Hobby brings such memories. My DD Molly is now 37. When she was 5 I was so broke...flat broke and I bought a pattern and made her a Holly Hobby doll and a wardrobe of clothes for her....oh, and a free kitten from someone...She loved Holly HObby....

Question for anyone who has done the Disney Cruise....I am considering doing a cruise. Did you enjoy it? Is it better than spending the entire week at WDW? Did you get seasick?

Thanks...going to try the ideas for the lion costume ribbons.

Susan

My husband gets extremely seasick and got a patch from a pharmacy before we left. The first night was really rocky and he was a little queasy, but was fine from then on. I think if he didn't have the patch he would have been terribly sick.

The kids had a great time on the cruise but my husband and I wished there were more things for adults. I don't know if it's better than WDW, but the kids really loved it.

Jajone: great outfits! That's a lot of work you have got planned for March: good luck!

Ok, so I finished the thanksgiving outfit, I think. Here is the 3 peices finished. I was thinking of still adding the apron but it might make it way tooo busy. a sash for the shirt and pants combo probably and maybe appliqueing GIVE THANKS on the bodice. I don't know, want to start on xmas already so I may just leave it the way it is..

I think the A is right, but honestly I have no idea, it looks right though to me!
You should be proud for completing so much!!!!

I'm almost sure that Jambo is correct.

I had a holly hobby crib, but it was a regular crib that my mom painted, she loved holly hobby. I had a holly hobby doll that had a pull string, i don't remember what she said though.

JAJONE has been SEW busy!!!! WOW. I feel like such a slacker. Since the
3rd tier debachle I only have to do the elastic waistband on her skirt and a ruffle at the bottom. Possibly a ruffle at the bottom of her shirt???:confused3
Oh, Steph I wish you could come tonight too.. that would be so fun. I hope I get to see Ali and her girls. There are 15 of us going which was more than I had realized. I don't know if everyone is dressing up but I think most of us are though some refused to stick with the theme:sad2:

I have to go now and run down to the pool for a few seconds while I do some seam ripping...

...t.

It is most definitely JAMBO, not JAMBA. The librarian in me had to look it up or it would drive me to insanity.

I love the outfits. I could not handle making 70 custumes. I would go crazy. And my hubby would lock me up and take my plastic away.:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

eeyore3847 I love it with the apron. It's the best of both worlds dressy warm and comfy. Great idea.

you know the sewing itself did not take that long to do. except the peasant tops, those annoy me but are adorable! have 5 different colored ones to make today, but of course putting it off to talk here! HEHE anywho, it was the design that took awhile, I was trying not to get overwhelmed and make it too busy.
